The next top manager to get sacked?

The 2017/18 season was the last time we saw all top 6 sides go a full season without any team changing their manager.

With Spurs now appointing their new manager, who do you think will be the next to leave, do you predict we will have any changes this season? We can throw Newcastle into the conversation too.
 
If Newcastle spend a lot this summer and they get off to a poor start I reckon Eddie Howe will be on his way
 
Klopp will announce his departure before the end of the season imo
 
Kloppity Klopp will be sacked this season, but he'll also be managing Real Madrid next season.

And you can quote me on that.
 
I think it really could be any.

I'd have said Pep was very safe, but we don't know what will happen with the FFP stuff.

If I had to put my house on it, I'd toss a coin between Klopp and Howe I think. I think Tottenham will give him a full season pretty much whatever happens (Providing not relegation form).
 
The Spurs guy has mostly only managed in Australia and never in a top league and he has already been labeled as a 'top manager' on here. Classic caf.

If justice is served at city (by some miracle) then Pep will be out of there quicker than you can say "corruption"

Specifically sacked, it'll be Howe as we won't be enough for the big name signings they're about to make

I wasn't entirely serious but out of the 7 I'd say he's the one at most risk.

Although they're after Mac Allister, I don't see any moves to address their main problem areas in the squad. They still need another top quality midfielder, their defence is pretty shambolic, and they have an old and tired squad.

I can't see Chelsea doing worse than they did last season, I can't see Spurs being as shit for the second half of the season as they were (and they're playing once a week), us, City and Arse I think will be there or thereabouts next season.

Howe is also pretty safe and doing a steady eddie (pun intended) job there, so I don't see him at risk either.

Liverpool will need to juggle Thurs/Sun for next season as well, and on top of that. Of course, this will all go out the window if Klopp gets them on new inhalers.
 
Howe, obviously.

No idea how Newcastle managed to finish top four with their shit-on-a-stick brand of football.
 
From most likely to least likely sacked….

Postecoglu : potentially dead man walking

Howe : pressure to maintain top 4 status

Pochettino : big job to do, sh*t or bust

Ten Hag : under pressure from new ownership if progress is not continued

Arteta : hothead, could self combust at any time

Klopp : still worshiped

Guardiola : untouchable
 
david moyes will be next to go if west ham don't beat fiorentina tomorrow.
 
Very good question...its tricky, i think the Top 6 might be quiet on the sackings next year.

However...

I would say with the takeover (if it ever happens) EtH could possibly be under extra scrutiny.

Arteta could have a meltdown if Arsenal have a sloppy start.

Pep and Klopp are fine and it would be up to them if they were to quit.

Poch and Postecoglou will be in their grace periods so they will be fine until Christmas at least.

I think he meant manager of a top side. I don't think Howe, Arteta or Postecoglou are top managers yet

I think arteta if he ends up starting slow next season he’ll be under pressure.

But Haaland is POTY in the toughest league in the world and a regular top scorer in the CL. A bit different than this apparent managerial prodigy who has spent quarter of a century managing in Australia, Japan and Scotland!

Chelsea just about made it through that season without sacking Conte :lol:

He was sacked after the season ended but it was clear months before the season’s end that he was getting the boot.

I could see Pep quitting on a high if they win the treble. What more would there be for him to do there? And I can’t see any reason why he’d pick city of all clubs to be his forever home.

I see the theory, but I think he’ll stay (assuming, as expected, that city get off lightly with the 115 charges)

He could be the first manager to win 4 in a row and generally I think city is quite a relaxing team to manage. Unlimited funds, small fan base, minimal press interest

Win the Quadruple

if any team was capable of doing it, this City squad managed by Pep can, he’s already in the conversation now with being one of the greatest managers ever, winning a quadruple imo would entirely cement that as fact above all managers

Also, where else would he go?? Back to Barca??

He’s talked about taking a break fairly recently and the possibility of an international job has been mentioned. I would think if Brazil or Spain come up he’d be interested. There’s also Italy and PSG if he fancies writing his legacy in another European league and somebody is willing to give him an open cheque book.

...as for the OP:

Spurs coach- never heard of him, might be the one to get the axe
ETH- nope
Arteta- highly unlikely
Poch- highly unlikely
Pep- nope
Klopp- only if he resigns, won't get sacked
Howe- they can't expect him to emulate last season. so long as he doesn't go below 8th he'll be fine.

I can see all of the coaches actually maintaining their spots (again- spurs guy is an unknown to me).

It's tricky. I think Arteta and Howe have bought themselves some credit with their performance this season. I predict both Arsenal and Newcastle to have a relatively disappointing campaigns but both managers will likely remain for another year.

Poch will get a year unless things get really bad, but it's hard not to improve on last season, and chelsea will try to avoid sacking another manager.

Klopp won't cope with another bad season, another average season and he'll walk.

ETH will be under a lot of pressure if he's backed properly in the summer.

The new Spurs guy is the obvious choice, considering the competition, I think Levy will be fine as long as he's in the top 6.

If I have to put money on it, I'd say it'll be Klopp. The competition is getting too difficult and he needs significant backing just to get a CL spot. I think he'll walk.

Surely City have more press coverage than any prem club at least.

:lol: It's literally been two weeks since the season ended.
 
My fear is that our ownership situation drags on, and as a consequence ETH doesn't get the necessary funds to do the business he wants this summer. Teams around us all strengthen, we get off to a relatively poor start next season, and BANG....ETH is fired off and we hire, I don't know Graham Potter or someone.

Because that would be a typically Utd sort of thing for us to do.
