Still not over yet.

Judging from current form, can't guarantee that we can get a win in our final 2 games.

Also cannot write off Liverpool not winning their remaining games.

Am i right in saying that if Chelsea win today Liverpool can only overtake us on goal difference?

I don't see Liverpool catching us,no way.If they fail to get anything from today's games, then that's it.Also their final game is away at Stoke which is not easy by any mean.

Who have nothing to play for......
A draw would be enough still and I think Chelsea will easily get that. Mou is way too prideful to risk his solid home record, so he won't throw the game out of nonchalance. And a draw would still be a good result, all we would need is a draw off 2 games, 2 winable games at that.

Thank feck I don't have to read wrist slitting posters in relation to top 4 again, what with us winning the league next season.

Well that was a painful watch, didn't want to tempt fate so I refrained from posting all day , didn't help that when I woke up early making my Sunday coffee and toast, only to look out and see a magpie on my lawn.

Anyway stupid superstition aside, well done Louis for top4,I expect us to be challenging next campaign.

Still deciding
I used to mock Arsenal fans when they used to act like they won the title when they finish 4th, but karma has taken place.

Right, how is anyone in this thread acting like we have won the title? I see comments like ''job done'' and then other posts are clearly taking the piss. Arsenal fans were jumping up and down at Newcastle one year.

Secondly, Arsenal fans were finishing 3rd/4th for about the 8th year in a row winning nothing and then doing nothing in the Champions League the following year, we only won the league 2 years ago. If this was 2022 and we were finishing 4th I don't think this thread would be giving off any level of satisfaction.

It was more of a stumble than a race, considering the recent form of the 4th to 7th teams. Anyway, success at last!
More of a stroll then anything really... The last time we were out of the top 4 was November 8th (we were 6th at that point). The next game we beat Arsenal and got into the top 4 and have stayed in it since then. I'm sure if the teams chasing us were more consistent then we would have been as well, but in the end it was pretty comfortable really. 3 losses in a row and we're still 6 points clear of 5th.

It was laborious at times, but it is important to note that we were always in control of the race since we got in top 4 after win at Emirates in November 2014. Never fell out of top 4 since that match.

Before the weekend, I found it surprising that we'd lost nine points and we were still only two points behind Arsenal and City.

The point is that not finishing top 4 is being relegated out of the CL (or staying 'down').

If we ever miss out again, the FA should just step in and give us Arsenal's place for the good of English football. Utterly pointless having Arsenal in there. We got further last season with David Moyes managing us ffs.

Even when they win their group for once and get an easy draw they balls it up.

Je m'en fous!
1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. City
4. Liverpool
5. Utd
6. Spurs
7. Southampton

2 and 3 will be closely fought. And 4 down to 7 will be very close.
As for Utd, they have a decent team. Rooney, Mata and Di Maria are very dangerous. But LvG (yes, as we all predicted including Rodgers - will you ever listen? :wenger:) is going to mess it up. This isn't the Bundesliga, as Rodgers said. Its not even La Liga, as Rodgers said. Its a different animal where your stubborness will break you. Look at Rodgers' and Gerrard at DM. Our manager has reached epiphany. I don't think LvG has or will until its too late. His will and personality is too strong to give up on the whim of 'fans'.

This season is going to be like a poor mans version of last season for Liverpool. They're hitting form again and it'll look like they will nick fourth but for a monumental feck up and there will be tears again as they settle for their rightful place in the Europa League.
You called it.

We would be sitting in 2nd if we didn't have these mad dips in form. Just 2 games after thrashing City we lose to West Brom. The reason for this is we don't have a striker to bury the shit teams as much as we'd like. Rooney and RVP are decent for a few goals but Falcao has been horrific. Replace him with somebody decent and we will be moving forward nicely next season.
