The RedCafe Boxing Thread

Would love nothing more than Fury dance around the ring for 12 rounds and win, I'd back him to win the fight easily if he hadn't took time out of boxing as Wilder is average at best. I think Wilder will catch Fury at some point and knock him out, just feel its too early for Fury since his lay off.

If Fury does win and looks like his old self, I think Joshua will avoid him as stylistically thats a really bad match up for him, I see that as an easier fight for Fury than Wilder.

While they are selling the fight, there is still meaning to what Fury is saying, and it is still affecting Wilder IMO.

I don’t think anyone in boxing can really match Fury on the mic right now.

I don't think Wilder will catch him... so Fury will jab and run his way to victory.

Can't see it being a very entertaining fight at all.

It's possible and if fury had had a couple more tune ups I'd agree but I just think the lay off and what he did to his body during it will tell in the later stages

What time are we expecting the Wilder Fury fight to start in England? About 6am?

I don't think I've wanted a fighter to win this much in years... Let's hope he can deliver. What a fecking comeback story it'll be if he can.

As both of them are intolerable feckwits, for me it's a case of which boxer I dislike less. It's a tough one.

Wilder coming in the lightest he's been since he debut 10 years ago is smart imo. He's going for maximum speed and athleticism because Fury has been so inactive.

I used to hate Fury, now I find him hilarious. I hope he wins.

Tyson has always been hilarious.

God I remember watching all his fights on Channel 5  Was the first British HW I could really get behind.

And that's the rub. I think Fury is up on points and looking very comfortable and then gets caught by something wild and is knocked spark out.
Said it Oct 2nd. Nothing has changed since then. Wilder coming in lighter and thus probably with more stamina is also bad for Fury because it means he'll better be able to chase in the latter rounds.

Doesn't matter how sloppy or unorthodox Wilder looks as the bottom line is still solely him landing that one clean shot.

It's not to rate Wilder, but I'll be really impressed if Fury can prevent that shot coming through for the duration of the bout.

This.
Makes it quite an appealing fight. Any outcome is acceptable except a 12 round borefest, which I don’t think it will be with wilder in the ring

Hope Fury can pull it off, would be an amazing come back story.

Thought he looked really underwhelming since returning and based on those showings you’d have to have Wilder as a significant favourite.

I'm certainly no boxing expert, can someone tell me how Wilder is favourite? Is it just the time Fury has had off?
Takes one shot, landed at any time, for him to finish the fight with a K.O. will take a mammoth effort from Fury to evade that one shot for 36 minutes.

Had a last ditch attempt to see tickets and still a rip-off. $100 for the back of the arena even though it’s not selling at all.

Think I’ll be watching this one at home. Also there’s Gvozdyk-Stevenson on regular Showtime which is going to be a better fight IMO.

That and he has fight ending power. Fury in 2016 would have been favored.

Wilder has awful technique, skills and footwork but modern Heavyweights is the division power means the most.
Wilders technique is perhaps a little unorthodox but it's overdone with people saying it's totally different or its awful...
I mean this is a guy who's got a bronze medal from the Olympics and 40 straight professional wins let's be truthful if his technique was truly awful as you say then somebody would have out boxed or caught him by now

That said I fancy Tyson on points tonight

What time is the Stevenson fight on bud?

Would be a great story if Fury wins. I was watching him in a Joe Rogan interview recently.

My concern would be losing so much weight and not having the stamina, sharpness and power needed. I believe he's had two fights since.

I don't live far from Wythenshawe so I'll be supporting him.

I think it will go down to a decision for Wilder. Will probably be a boring fight.

I can't see that as a result at all. It'll probably either be a KO for Wilder or a fairly convincing points decision for Fury in my opinion. I'm hoping for the former as I think Joshua/Wilder will be a more exciting fight than Joshua/Fury

Joshua / Fury would be unbelievable imo, one the biggest sporting events in the country for the last decade or so.

Joshua’s fights are already very mainstream and have transcended that casual audience/wider cultural appeal and it would be on another level with Fury if he manages to beat Wilder and seal that whole redemption ark.
