Thought of getting another one done as it is still off season and nothing much apart from same old transfer sagas going on.
The basic rules are same as usual drafts. 16 managers, 6/12 hour deadline to pick your player, goes from 1-16, 16-1, 1-16 and so on.
The criteria to pick the players is as follows :
You can pick a maximum of 2 players from each of the following decades according to their date of births. The decades to be considered are :
1930-39
1940-49
1950-59
1960-69
1970-79
1980-89
That is, you can only have two players in your 12 man squad who were born from 01 Jan 1930 to 31 Dec 1939 and so on for every decade. 6 decades, 12 players as usual.
Reinforcements
Decided to change things up a bit this time, thanks to Theon for giving the idea. There will be a secondary draft after the RO16 just like we have had previously but this time of 2, not 3 rounds, with the initial order reversed.
To make things fairer, there will be a third and last mini draft after the quarters, again of two rounds and again the order reversed, which means it would be back to the main draft order.
We would try this out and see how it works, as I previously raised the concern in the last draft thread that lower order well drafted teams were getting a bit of an advantage with the existing rules. Let's see how it goes.
In short : if the main draft order is 1-16, secondary draft order would have 16-1 and the last one again 1-16. Obviously only with the teams left at that stage.
After the semis the teams just pick one player from the opponent like they do usually.
Importantly : Even after the reinforcements, the criteria will remain the same. That is, you can not have more than 2 players from a particular decade according to DOBs at any stage of the draft in your playing 11. So pick wisely and leave room for possible improvements.
