Whoever was criticising AEW's production the other day couldn't be more correct. They actually cut Suzuki's entrance short so there was no "Kaze Ni Nare". Shambles.

That MJF promo. Boy, oh boy. The lad’s an absolute heat magnet. Enjoyed Adam Cole immediately being a total prick heel too.

They were obviously a bit worried about timings and getting the match done. They went to the close a bit early too and then had Mox kill a good few mins. I’m not sure that that crowd would necessarily know or care for the high spot of Suzuki’s entrance though. They were all there for Moxley.

We almost missed it at All Out too because JR was too busy talking about breakfast.

They absolutely would have. The timing could've been improved if they cut MJF's promo in half. That segment dragged and dragged.

Another cheap, unsubstantiated dig at WWE then
He also said they were gonna rename Adam Cole on the main roster. WWE adores money and they were gonna derail the "BAY BAY" merch machine? Yeah right...

I find it hilarious how much people take Meltzer's word as gospel.

He's been proven to be a bullshitter multiple times but some still treat him like a messiah of the pro graps world. Muppets.

How many people when they moved to the main roster were allowed to keep a name that was already in use?

Thats the most obvious part

Yeah, WWE also have a history of throwing money away just to do things the way they want. So I can definitely see them messing with Adam Cole's name.

Just started watching Dynamite. Truly hideous botch in the first match

Stick Dustin in the bin with Jericho and Hardy. No room on the roster or need to see any of them in the ring any more.

Has anybody moved from NXT to the main roster and debuted with a new name? And I mean, as well known as Cole was. Like a big debut, with a new name. I can't remember anyone.

Think it's tough for Meltzer now... most big news gets broken by other outlets these days, so he just has to swing for the fences with whatever he gets.

He also said they were gonna rename Adam Cole on the main roster. WWE adores money and they were gonna derail the "BAY BAY" merch machine? Yeah right...
He's already been on main roster shows (pretty significantly too, with some big wins) under the name Adam Cole, so obviously they would never change it.

They'd have called him something daft like "Adam" or "AC Baby".

Wouldnt surprise you though, would it? WWE is making a change to NXT so might want to scrub themselves of HHH's NXT thus new names.

Not quite big names but:

Viking Experience.
Mia Yim...All the shit with Retribution.
DouDrop
Also WWE love their one name ... names, like Matt Riddle is just Riddle, right?

Are you questioning whether WWE would do something to sabotage somebody from NXT with something that was working?

Although I think it's ridiculous people still take meltzers word as gospel when it quite evidently isn't, this one I wouldn't be shocked if it were true to some extent.

Would he be lees manager or would have they have just tagged together and been the little/large tag team for the billionth time? I can see that.

I very much doubt he was getting a name change though.

Fair one. But I would be shocked if they'd have changed Cole's name.

I reckon theres a chance Meltzer asked Cole himself, after the post All Out show. Its possible.

Fair one. But I would be shocked if they'd have changed Cole's name.
It would have been silly, but things WWE do that are stupid do not shock me anymore.

I don't believe my wrestlers have to be huge. It's a new age.

Daniel Bryan is my favourite WWE Champion in recent history and he's smaller than me.

But Adam Cole looks really really small in both physique and height. I guess next to a normal person he'd still look quite big but it's hard to take him seriously as a tough guy in the ring.

War Raiders > Viking Experience
Hanson and Rowe > Ivar and Erik
Dio Maddin > Mace
Shane Thorne > Slapjack
Dominik Dijakovic > T-Bar
Mia Yim > Reckoning
Mercedes Martinez > Retaliation
Matt Riddle > Riddle
Piper Niven > Doudrop
Nikki Cross > Nikki A.S.H.
Apollo Crews > Apollo
Big E Langston > Big E
Antonio Cesaro > Cesaro
Chad Gable > Shorty G
Babtunde > Commander Azeez
Otis Dozovic > Otis
Tucker Knight > Tucker
Rik Bugez > Rik Boogs
Bobby Roode > Robert Roode
Shotzi Blackheart > Shotzi
Ruby Riot > Ruby Riott
Andrade Almas > Andrade
Luke Harper > Harper
Erick Rowan > Rowan
Alexander Rusev > Rusev
Adrian Neville > Neville
Buddy Murphy > Murphy

Then there's been the weird obsession with breaking up teams or absolutely killing them almost as soon as they go up. The Ascension, American Alpha, Vaudevillains, Sanity, etc.

Most of these had their full names when they moved up and had it changed at some point whilst on the main roster.

It’s very 4chan edgelord stuff.

One thing I did like from that segment was Wardlow taking his time to actually help MJF.

Though I don't think it's uncommon for names to changed when moving from NXT to raw/smackdown, most of these happened when they were already established on raw/smackdown. Don't think that counts.

None of those are remotely close to what it would’ve been like for them to change Adam Cole’s name. Half of the changes you’ve listed were just shortening their name (which is weird thing WWE does so often) and most happened while they were already on the main roster.

The only similarity would’ve been if they’d changed Samoa Joe’s name when he moved up. Or Nakamura’s. An established star who used that name prior to WWE, continuing to use it in NXT and having it changed when moving to the main roster. I can’t think of a single example of that happening, so it’s ridiculous to suggest they would do it with Cole

I wasn't really suggesting they'd do it with Cole, just following on from a post that listed some of the name changes they've done.

However, if they had (mental) concerns about Adam Cole somehow being confused with Michael Cole, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they changed his name. I don't think there's a limit to the stupid shit Vince will request/authorise.

It's all irrelevant anyway as a) the rumours appears to be just that and b) Cole isn't there anymore.

I've just remembered the weird situation they created when they were about to call up War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) and inexplicably decided to rename Luke Harper and Erick Rowan to just Harper and Rowan, so they were then forced into changing Hanson and Rowe into Ivar and Erik so they weren't similar.

I doubt they'd have changed Adam Cole's name just because he shares a surname with Michael Cole, but I also wouldn't have been at all surprised if they had done.

Can see it now.

Someone (probably Dolph Ziggler) decides to inexplicably issue an open challenge (that will last precisely one show).

A generic, vaguely hair metal sounding entrance theme hits that we've never heard before.

Adam Cole comes out dressed like this:

The commentary team feign excitement but don't say his name.

He does some air guitar on the way down the ramp.

He gets to the ring and removes the weird armour/cape shit.

He's wearing a t-shirt with his "famous" catchphrase.

"ROCK AND ROLL, BAY BAY".

He is now Cole Adams.

Wardlow is great. He'll be one of the best big men around soon. Same with Hobbs. Surprised how both went under WWE's radar, they seem to tick all of Vince's boxes and they were signing everybody over the last few years.

What’s being a good heel to you? You seem to only comment to moan when others are praising work.
Not that shite. Roman is a good heel right now, Cody can be a good heel when he's not wasting his time trying to be a face. Jericho at his best, few can touch him.

The feck. Just because your mind goes there doesnt mean his does
You are fecking tiresome. Do piss off.
