As a club its hard to deny we have regressed in the last 3 seasons. We have spent huge fee's on players David Gill and SAF would not be in the same room with.

We have a transfer guru with an ego in Ed Woodward is a top top person for making commercial deals and spotting new revenue streams. However in the market he has been part of the shambles that has been our transfer policy for 2 seasons.

We are loosing our morals as we buy galactico stars like Di Maria, get messed about and he is off to Paris with a large amount of our cash and we loose circa £15m 12 months.

In all a negative post I know, but the cornerstone values for me are being eroded and I hope someone in the Boardroom wakes up before Woody spills any more expensive brandy cream on players agents offer and half the team/media/football world dont know about.

SAF could hardly bring himself to spend more than £30 million on a player, likely due to his background. The transfer market has changed and the club is finally catching up.

Signing Scneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian, Martial and keeping De Gea is a shambles now? feck off.

Di Maria £57m
Martial £40m and rising
Rojo £18m and about to be listed
+ others = a shambles

We have checked money at a problem and dont seem to have a more cohesive unit that resembles a title winning team.

De Gea staying is a huge plus however.

So are you going to pretend he never signed

schewinstger for 6m
Depay for 21m
darmian for 12m
schneiderlin for 25m

?? When judging a transfer window you can't only focus on the mistakes, yes some were made but to call the entire window a shambles is so overboard.

Woody is doing fine.

Threads like this would have been more credible if they were posted after we signed ADM and Falcao last year. Instead everyone just clamored to say how great the signings were. The human brain isn't made to look back and reconstruct thought processes, so of course because it didn't work out it was a 'mistake'. Some people even call signing hargreaves a mistake to drive the point home further.

Not true! Fergie makes players not buy them with a lot of hard earned cash unless he's confident the players are worth it. He's not someone who's dictated by the market per se. Or being held ransom. At least not I can think of ever happened to him.

He's a smart guy who would prefer not to be ripped of. Afterall high market price meant feck all to him. If he regards someone is worthy of it he would go for him. Is all

Think you are exaggerating here.

Fergie would have loved someone like Di Maria. When you consider what he spent on Rio, Rooney, Berbatov at the time he was obviously willing to spend if it was the right player.

Rojo, if it is not just media talk, could end up no different to the likes of Heinze, Zaha, Bebe, Obertan, djemba-djemba and countless others

Fergie also spent 30M on a young lad called Rooney who had performed well in one season, acquired Ronaldo and various other young players with potential. So not sure why you think Martial is any different.

To be fair it was more along the lines of Govan, shipbuilding and socialist Labour.

How many over £30 mil, though, Spoons?

He balked at paying an extra £5 million for Benzema because he though it was too much. That's the moment I decided he couldn't come to terms with the modern market.

Value. Debt. What he did on a shoe string budget was nothing short of phenomenal. It's a shame he's missed the extra money we're making through the likes of Adidas and Chev. But make no mistake when he had cash he wasn't scared to spend it and break transfers records. Your £30m is very arbitrary though, Doc.

It's £22m for Martial and rising. Just fyi. £16m for Rojo, who hasn't being bad all things considered. And come on, when we signed Di Maria none of saw this happening. Especially after the season he had prior with Madrid.

Selling a player who doesn't want to play for you and who had a terrible season anyway is good business, even with the easily absorbed loss (don't forget we're minted thanks to Adidas).

Martial £36 million. Inflating figures doesn't help your argument. Are you Jamie Jackson in disguise? If we pay the extras we'll have one of the best players in the world leading our line. We wanted, we got. Great business.

Rojo. Well, if you want to believe unfounded gossip, my opinions won't matter to you.

We brought in 4 new outfield players and a keeper. It's going to take time for them to gel.

It seems arbitrary but once Roman bought Chelsea it became the benchmark. Fergie was cool with £25 million price tags but £30 looked to be his limit.

It's hard these days to distinguish genuine half wit puddings from puddings who are just trying, but not very effectively, to be funny or wind pudding eaters up.

Still in shock about the price paid for Martial, but Woody has done his job, now it's up to LvG to get the best out of the players that we have. We paid decent fees for Memphis, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Darmian. Di Maria was a signing that did not work out for whatever reason, but we paid what was needed to get hold of him. People will trash Woody for not going out and getting hold of players like Di Maria.

Ffs. Can't you just let us enjoy the De Gea extension for a bit before you come out with this shite?
