Should be a nobrainer for us at a loan. He played his best football for Spurs at RW and knows the PL. Furthermore, he enjoys working with Poch (like it or not, there is at least a decent chance he will be a coach here within three months).

Fair play to Arsenal for signing Partey. I definitely didn't expect them to pay his release clause.

If we come out of this transfer without a CB or RW, the two positions we desperately needed to improve then whoever is responsible should never be forgiven by the fans.

It's a complete disgrace that a club the size of Manchester United has been reduced to haggling over £2-3m, missing out on big names and only being able to loan out our dead wood.

This goes a lot higher than Ole, any previous manager or any future manager we could get.
We dithered too long on Upamecano

Simon Stone:

Manchester United's hopes of signing Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona are receding.

United want Dembele on loan - and are prepared to pay a fee for that - but Dembele wants a permanent transfer.

Unless one of those parties has a significant change of mind, the France international will stay where he is.

Depressing.

Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, City Liverpool, Chelsea are all ahead of United at the end of the season as a bare minimum. Then there's Leicester and wolves. We could easily be 10th at the end of the season

Where's the DOF?
We brought in a non mobile unproven in PL player at age of 35 called Ibrahimovic and he was awesome. Anyway theres always that myopic PL angle of can player x cut it in the PL. Class is permanent.

Cavani is 33, he's still quick for his age, likes to break the offside trap which will suit us and ole style of play. He can play off the wings as a wide forward as he did at psg when swapping positions with Mbappe and Neymar. Hes vastly experienced player which can only help our young forwards; rashford, martial and greenwood. Hes a winner, top pro who looks after himself physically and a strong personality, which we need in the dressing room.

His wages are inside our current wage structure. Hes better than ighalo by a huge margin. I have no issue with bringing experienced players in, fergie did that with blanc, larsson etc. Ole wanted a forward so i think this is his call.
Ibrahimovic was brought in prior to our supposed 'cultural shift', under another manager with very distinct objectives from those we're apparently pursuing now. Aware of our recent history regarding 'experienced' players - don't think it's relevant to say 'we've done it before and it was ok' given the context was different in these cases. What has changed - Cavani was a free agent months ago? Why fill the deadline day vacuum with his transfer? Feels like misdirection. What does 'class is permanent' mean exactly? Class like Falcao, Di Maria, Schweinsteiger?

This whole transfer window smells of desperation and poor planning. I feel bad for Ole' as Ed would rather park his ass in he stands instead of handling business. Its a shame....
Sad when he tightens up security around his home rather than work on signings for us.... just a shame!

The last eight years have been entirely devoted to desperation and poor planning. Why should this window be any different - it is the Manchester United way.

If it stays like this, we've been outspent in one of our most important transfer windows in years by Arsenal, one of the tightest teams in the Premiership.

The Club that sacked their dinner ladies and mascot to save money.

Truly truly depressing

Come on Utd don't let Arsenal steal deadline day headlines with Partey, keep pushing for this loan for dembele whether it's option or obligation to buy and despite how mad it sounds just pay up if they aren't willing to accept either. We shouldn't just rely on Mason there until Traore turns up in January because he will get burnt out otherwise

The Italian United finally get it over the line. Cheap deal for our best defender

Now offer up a tempting loan fee to Barca with that money because times are desperate, hell if needs be put it towards a permanent offer for him because absolutely no guarantees where we will be next summer

Not even a sniff about getting rid of Rojo or Lingard. What a shit summer.

We also seem to be about to carry 3 expensive keepers - plus Grant if he still counts as a player

What makes Sancho/Demeble not coming even worse is we have another year of Lingard fumbling his lines and practising dance routines.

This stinks of early 90s Liverpool who were badly run and vanished into mediocracy for decades.
