This is a bit of a summary/recap article, but most of it is speculative and based off of conjecture. However, there are a few bits that Ducker pointed out that indicate what the club could do in the summer. Note: my comments will be in Italic.
  • United are reluctant to get involved in an auction for Haaland amid interest from other big clubs.
  • Talks with Pogba are ongoing, but a formal offer has yet to be given.
    • The lack of a formal offer doesn't mean much. United tend to give out a formal offer when they're sure that it's good enough to be agreed upon.
    • We are definitely in negotiations with Pogba's camp over an extension.
  • United have been interested in Kane for a long while, too.
    • I'm not sure if we'll make an offer as Levy's terrible to deal with.
  • United are still interested in Jadon Sancho but less than last summer.
    • That is in line with us being more interested in a centre back and striker.
  • Outgoings: Sergio Romero will leave as a free agent
    • The rest of the info on the outgoings reveals no info about what United plan to do.

I'm already at the point where I wish we could just get on with the start of next season, we know this seasons just going to peter out and then the summer's just going to be damp squib

Guido Rodriguez, a midfielder playing for Real Betis, has recently been linked to both Arsenal and Liverpool. Guido comments on his links with Arsenal:

Source: Estadio Deportivo

[On the rumours] I saw it because friends from Argentina asked me, but I told them that I knew the same as them. I am the protagonist because I am in the news but today, I do not know more or less than you who saw it.

[On his stay with Real Betis] I am very happy, I arrived and there was one or two months with a strange situation for everyone with the issue of confinement but the truth is that I am very happy in Seville, with the city, the weather, at the club…I’m very happy.

[On what his gut feeling says about the future] It does not say much. I thrive where I am and enjoy myself a lot, then we’ll see what happens in the summer.

[On whether he still wants to play for Real Madrid] Yes, as I have said many times when you sign there, the goal is always to play there. It is of course a big dream. But at the same time, I am at a nice club and am very happy where I am now. So, I am very happy with the situation as it is now.

Bild comment on the stories from Spain that Barcelona are interested in André Silva as a Plan B. They state that Silva's likely to move in the summer for ~40 million Euros. Whilst Barcelona have yet to contact Frankfurt or Silva's camp, they do have a solid connection to his agency, Gestifute, via Jorge Mendes, who represents Ansu Fati.

Moussa Diaby's one of the names in Real Madrid's transfer wishlist. Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also interested, and apparently, these two clubs are willing to make a bid.

What did you expect? A PL title within 3 years from where we were and where City n Liverpool were?

You have to forget the Fergie days mate. They are gone. This team isn't a PL winning one.

that was my point

'Hierarchy feel progress is being made on and off the field and continue to take a long-term view to the rebuild'

What timeline is actually on this rebuild as we're still nowhere near at the moment

Thanks for the summary.

Ronaldo is in the picture, but not mentioned in the article?

Ducker did mention him but as a suggestion for United instead of in conjunction with United possibly going for him. The mention:
...there is a persuasive case to be made for a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is approaching the final year of his contract with Juventus, but where a return to Old Trafford would factor in the 36-year-old Portugal forward’s ambitions is unclear and his wages are colossal...

Other than maybe winning a league cup I honestly don't think Ole could have achieved much more tbh.

Style of play could be improved for sure but is that enough for him to lose his job if he delivers CL football again?

We aren't winning the league any time soon with any manager floating around right now. Not without a massive influx of quality into the squad and a drop off from City and Liverpool.

I agree, no one is winning the big titles with this squad

Closer than we have been for sometime on and off the pitch. But even if we get 2 players this summer whats stopping City going out to get 4 ?

A few people have suggested that we might like a big #9 - someone who can play with their back to goal, hold up the ball a bit and generally be a focal point for our wide forwards to play off. Even just having someone to get on the end of crosses and threaten from set pieces, might not be a bad idea. We definitely miss that presence when Cavani is out.

Vlahovic is still a bit raw from the little I have seen, but might fit the bill. Ditto Youssef En-Nesyri. Then you have the proper giants like Sorloth, Kalajdzic and Weghorst, the latter of whom is having a very good season in front of goal.

Might be reasonable options if Haaland is impossible for us (which seems highly likely).

Considering the only title contender has been City, who only really kicked on this year, I think we had a very good chance. Although some of the issues we see on the field get on my nerves, I feel that a lot of it is down to instructions, tactics and ... coaching.
So, based on that, I think we could have won it.
Wasn’t there another poster called Varun on this site in the old days? Thought It was that person for a second
I think he's still around.

City "kicked on" because they lied about a COVID outbreak and bought themselves a bit of rest during the Christmas New Year's period.

Whilst the article focuses on Everton, one key bit of info from it is that Fali Ramadani, Koulibaly's agent, has yet to receive an offer from any other club for his player. I think the other clubs have become hesitant to make a move given how high his price tends to be set by de Laurentiis.

Club chief Franco Baresi:
He has imposed himself with great determination and talent. He arrived in a league he didn’t know and faced it without fear. They are the qualities of a potential champions. We hope he keeps his promises. We will do everything possible to redeem him, even if there are still two months to play and it will not only depend on Milan.

Pedulla says that Milan are looking at Elseid Hysaj of Napoli, whose contract also expires this summer, instead of Dalot partly due to Solskjaer wanting to keep him for next season.

Relevant quote:
There were Juventus, Inter and Roma. There have been many offers for him, but we've always agreed that the best for both parts was continuing together. The common idea is still to continue together, I'm not thinking to the transfermarket, I just hope that Berardi will have good performances with Italy in June.

Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich:
It's normal that there be offers for a player of his caliber, but he'll stay at Inter. Now he wants the scudetto, next season the Champions League, he will return to the pitch soon.
