Dean Smith is prioritising a move for Ollie Watkins.

With this many suitors, Watkins will surely be able to get a nice compensation no matter where he goes (unless he goes for a personal preference).

Manchester United didn't pay Mino Raiola jack. We paid what Juventus agreed to, and Juventus had a contract with Mino about a cut of the transfer. Juventus were the only losers there as they are the ones who had to pay his fees. This guy is supposed to be a journalist and he is peddling fake news.

According to Football Leaks United are paying Raiola 19.4m€ in five installments (the last of which is scheduled for next month incidentally) plus 2.6m€ which Pogba himself owed to Fat Pizza Dude.

Or the opposite, if he really wanted to stay, he would come out saying I am happy and staying. That will end all speculation.

I fear that most United fans have invested so much into him joining, the outrage brewing is not good news for the club.

They have done so well to get the feel good factor back, a poor window now, will be for nothing.

More than anything he just seems the ideal RW signing for us. Regardless, if we can't get a deal done we have to sign someone to play there.

This is correct. Juve paid him £23m (out of the transfer fee). We paid him a further £16.39m (in five instalments).

£40m for the fat slug, in a single deal.

I’d like Watkins and we were in for him last summer but £25m for a totally unproven striker in this market is a joke. Be shocked if he goes for anywhere near that.

If they don’t get Sancho this summer, he’ll be 150m the next summer and they’ll proabably have more offers then just united.
He has 2 years left on his contract. If we don’t get him this year the price will be lower next year but there will definitely be more bidders

There is also a possibility that football clubs would be in a worse financial position than they are now - if governments opt to limit attendances. Also pandemic measures will continue to have negative effects on the economy in general which can also have negative impacts on club finances.

I heard you’re looking at Sarr to as a loan option to buy.

Christian Falk reveals Bayern's fair fee for Thiago:

Must be more to this as you would expect loads of big clubs happy to buy him at this price, I expect that he has a desired choice of the only club (liverpool) he wants to join if he leaves Bayern.

@FootballHQ

Watkins, Wesley, Mbwana and Kienan Davis seems a bit overkill for a club like Villa. They’re also pretty good strikers for a club of Villa’s current level (no offence, and wit the exception of Davis).

Is someone going to leave? They’re mostly recent signings as well, would find it weird to keep throwing money at the striker problem every window and hope it sticks. Think a bit more patience is required with these lads.

Not sure Costa makes a lot of sense. I'd prefer someone a lot younger with something to prove if we miss out on Sancho, someone like Nkunku or Sabitzer would be ideal. Sabitzer is older at 26, but an exceptional player. Nkunku only 22 and very similar to Sancho is style of play.

I would hope that fans will be sensible and compare us to our rivals and what they spend. I'd not really considered that football could be behind closed doors for thr majority of this coming season, or have reduced capacities. No wonder the club don't want to shell out that kind of money if it's true. No club will.

Good lord not Sabitzer

Douglas Costa is definitely not an alternative. It’s pretty clear that Ole doesn’t Consider signing of any old average players (we have enough of those).

It could be believable if he were to sign either a) another young winger (even if not very good) or b) truly great winger (even if not very young).

But Costa is neither a) nor b)

I get what you mean, but he's also 24, so it's not like he's necessarily at his peak. He's also been Brentford's top scorer, so it makes sense for them to demand that much, especially since they barely missed out on the PL.

The journalists have reported his desire to join Liverpool, but I can see other reasons behind this:
  • He's injury-prone
  • He's at an age where his physical attributes will start to decline (though he doesn't necessarily rely on them)

Feels like Costa has been linked to United for about a decade. Still don't want him.

They also said he'd love to play for United but is a different character to Dembele and won't go on strike.
This means that he might play out his contract with Dortmund and then move to a bigger club if Dortmund don't get a deal that they're satisfied with.

Speaking of which, from that same podcast, United apparently put in a low offer at the start (probably to test Dortmund out). The fact that we're going through their agents makes the whole process slower than usual.

Torino and Milan have met over Ricardo Rodriguez but have yet to come to an agreement. Milan want 4/4.5 million Euros, but Torino want to pay 2 million less.

Wasn't this guy supposed to be some world beater a few years ago?

Definitely. He s still at Juventus because no big club wants him. I m sure we re not even considering him

From what's being said he wants to move to United and the deal between club and player is done. To me if both United and Sancho have agreed that much then there's still a very good chance it will happen.

The offers were indeed to test the water. There's been no official bid as yet.

Next we might see an official United bid followed by a transfer request. Or we might see this get sorted between clubs. I don't see United and Sancho coming this far so early in the window to let this simply die though. Sancho saying nothing at the moment supports this in my opinion.

Yeah, exactly, this has gone way too far now for it to break down at this point. If we've come to a personal agreement with the player, there's no way we'll end our negotiations with Dortmund unless we want to risk looking way worse. The only way I can see the whole thing breaking down is if Sancho changes his mind all of a sudden or another club comes in and tempts Sancho to join them.

I think it's positive for United all this is happening early in the window rather than later on.
