Smug wanker. The other guy, Sajid Javed lookalike is a bit better
Literally said let’s be fair to City, they never wanted to sign Ronaldo this summer and they walk away when they feel the deal is too expensive.
Grade A wanker

Thanks, that's good to hear. Other reports suggest Kounde is on a plane to Paris tonight, presumably to do his medical.
Id be really surprised if you didn’t sign him. Feels like it’s always hinged on Zouma to West Ham

He said earlier that we “have to remember that Ronaldo played for Juventus last year and they almost finished 5th, so how can United expect to challenge for the title”

20 hours after saying that him signing for City makes them CL favourites

And he keeps pushing that he only came to us because city pulled out, despite Sam Lee rubbishing that

Abit behind and catching up. Have Ronaldos personal terms been agreed? How much are we paying him a week? Theres no way his image rights would have been sorted out that quickly, thats bound to take a few days.
  1. Not officially, no, but various journalists have reported that personal terms are agreed upon.
  2. According to Luckhurst, £480k/week. Di Marzio reports that this figure is the net salary, not gross.

Due to work commitments over the past few days I'm a bit behind on this thread (started reading page 429 a little earlier, now on page 433), so it is really interesting reading posts from UTD fans slagging off Ronaldo saying things like he ain't that good anymore, not as mobile as Kane & wasn't that great when he was a UTD player etc... I wonder if those same UTD fans will have the same opinion of Ronaldo now he seems set to join UTD as opposed to City that people were thinking would happen a few pages back.

it was the bait of a lifetime, the bluff of a lifetime. Mendes playing it perfectly.
If this all works out Mendes has played a fecking blinder..the cnut.
Mendes and Ronnie chummed the water and we've bitten, now City are trying to act like they aren't interested. we supposedly have to stick with the shite midfield because we need to sell first to buy, yet suddenly there's money for another signing on mammoth wages.
Who knows how it played out but I think you guys are right.

I expect Ronaldo to take the role RvP had on our corners when he used to clear every one of them at the near post.

Also means Maguire will get a bit more space on attacking corners with Varane, Pogba and Ronaldo all to aim for now.

How will he do more damage to us? Watch the space, United will soon sign a training kit sponsor and that will cover Ronaldo'wages at least. On the pitch he will score goals and mentor our younger players simply by his routine that is famous for high professional and fitness standards. It's a win for us from whatever angle you look at it.
I respect and admire your optimism.

Tuchel on Hudson-Odoi:
There’s always room for improvement here in training. It’s hard to argue that he needs regular game time to improve his level. At the same time, it’s not only about letting players go. If we want to compete in all competitions, it’s also about numbers. You need a squad of 20 to 21 players. I have the feeling that Callum decided to fight for his place here. He had a very good pre-season. The door is always open to sneak through. At the moment, there is no loan.

  • Luka Jovic: deal difficult because of the fee
  • Franck Ribery: concerns over his fitness
  • Andrea Petagna: talks on but no agreement yet on fees
  • Keita Baldé: Sampdoria talking to Monaco about a possible return
  • If Sampdoria sell, they can bring in a new midfielder (Tomás Rincón of Torino)

No wonder we struggle getting players out. Who in their right mind pays that to loan a backup RB?
Well at this point in the window it has to be a good deal for us. Dalot is our only remaining backup for Wan-Bissaka, so there should be some form of commitment from the buying team.

All the noises in the media suggest we'd prefer a sale too, so any loan deal would have to be heavily incentivised.
