Amortisation, there’s a reason why they’re handing all their new signings 7 year contracts. Also because unlike us, they have made huge amounts of money from selling players every season. That helps a lot, net spend matters far more than Gross. We still outspent them in both gross and net terms last summer and for the last decade our net spend dwarfs their’s by hundreds of millions.

On top of that, their new ownership has also committed lots of money (I don't remember the exact amount, but something like £2.75b out of the £4.25b) to further improving the whole club, including the first team.

Tier 1:
The bidding for Houssem Aouar.

Betis want to seduce him with a five-year contract and 2.5 net plus other variables. The Premier League and Serie A, rivals for a midfielder who gives priority to...Milan.
Rough translation:

More info on Betis's last offer:
  • Fee: €30m
  • Sign-on fee to Aouar: €5m
  • 30% of the future sale amount goes to Aouar

Source (Tier 2):
El Larguero's Sanhedrin analyses the 'Joao Félix case'.

"I'm not going to tell you that he'll be out by tomorrow, but that he's not doing his best to be"
Aston Villa has shown the most interest in the player as of now.

Tier 1?? He made need re-assessing this is well wide of the mark!
According to Kinsella in the article, Strakosha isn't desperate to leave. he'd rather stay at Brentford and fight for his spot, but Brentford have given him permission to find a loan club should he choose to do so.
