As crazy as it sounds, it still an improvement on our current CF situation.
Merely improving on our current situation won’t lead us anywhere. Mid table standard strikers would improve us but nowhere near enough.

yes, but what are our options?

As things stand, Kane is not happening. Osimhen would cost too much and we can't afford him. Kolo Muani is overpriced and Hojlund is too young. And to top it off, Bayern, Real and Chelsea are also looking for top striker themselves.

So realistically a fit CF who can score 15 goals and a couple of assists is going to be a huge improvement on our current Martial/Weghorst situation.

With that being said, all things point to Voldemort being brought into the set up.

Hojilund can get 15 goals I believe at the very least imo.

Much rather Hojlund than Ramos. Looks like there is much more to him than Ramos. You can see the movement and speed. Can't see anything with Ramos.

We need someone as a striker who can score at the very least 30 goals in all competitions

100m for a 30yr old striker with 1yr left on his contract would be fecking nuts. Something similar to what we paid for RVP would be acceptable for me
Funnily enough, what we paid for RVP at the time was considered a little high considering his contract situation.

11 years later, we're not getting Kane for anything close to that.

He's going to stripped of the captaincy, he probably wants out and we need to move him on. We don't need to keep paying wages for someone who isn't good enough
I get selling him, best for both parties but surely there will be takers. We’re already likely to lose millions on his value, we’re gonna chuck another 10m down the drain too?!

If he's as desperate to move on as we are to get rid of him, there's no reason for us to pay him to leave.

Weird one, beyond the HG, PL 'tested' (and he's tested pretty poorly this season) and 'hard-working' elements. There are players (apparently) available for around 40m or under who are similar ages or younger, more press resistant, quicker, better passers.

It'd be one thing if we were supplementing a fully modernized midfield with MM on a free transfer or something to play 2-3 roles in rotation, but seems an odd profile for recruitment given where the team's at, current restrictions on spending and the rest. At least this means we're more likely to let DVB and a couple of the fringe players like Elanga go...
