May have heard on the news yesterday there was a shooting in Tottenham, a man shot at the police and then he was shot dead.

Some are claiming he was shot dead whilst restrained on the floor.

Now there are riots up there with police cars being set on fire *puts on black mask*

Who the hell is claiming that?

That's an execution. Pretty strong claims.

That's not vandalism, the car's just using its boost.

I was involved in a riot in Whitstable once. A copper's helmet came off and rolled towards my mate and he kicked it mightily into the air. We cheered and then went back to our kebabs whilst about 30 assorted pikies fought with the coppers.

feckING HELL!!!

do you see that bin bag next to the bin? do the council in tottenham not do their fecking jobs properly or something? useless cnuts

If you think this is bad try googling 'Fullerton cops beating' and you'll find one of the most disturbing cases of police brutality I've ever heard.

This is bollocks.

Almost as bad as the Fullerton Cops Beating bullshit posted above. A video that shows absolutely nothing happening. If these two stories are proof of Police brutality than this world is in a bad place!!

Now a bus is on fire. As well as a shop.

Shit just got real.

Watching this on the news whilst at work.

It looks fecking insane.

just watching it on the news now , its crazy.
Why was this man shot in the first place ?.There is a resident on Sky News now saying that Tottenham is not a good place and not safe to be out at night is it that bad ?

Conflicting reports.

The Police say they were shot at first so returned fire killing the offender. However from what I gather some people claiming to have witnessed it are saying Police shot first and some even saying he was held down whilst shot apparently.

Call me naive or gullible or whatever you want. But I'll believe the Police were shot at first.

North London in general is a nasty place.

Since when?

My cousin used to live in Islington, and whenever I visited I always got the impression that North London had some of the nicer areas of the city. That was only 5-10 years ago.

Sorry but there no way the police held someone down and shot them dead.

Any excuse....

That's where I live, my pal was murdered on my estate just over a month ago. London in general has gone to shit.

Kinell. Was he in trouble (gang culture etc) or just wrong place wrong time kind of thing?

Islington is pretty much where "niceness" ends.

I've had the wonderful experience of having to travel through Haringey and Hackney (right through Tottenham Hale too) late at night on the bus (Tube didn't work) to get home - it's one scary, nasty journey.

Yes, there are some isolated areas that are fine (Hampstead, for example), but in general, that part of London is really horrible now.

Of course, it is exactly why Spurs need to stay in North London - any major investment will, quite frankly, help a ton.

20 people ran into my estate stabbed him over 20 times and got away, he was on his way home and literally a minute from his front door.

A gang of 20 masked people shouldn't be able to round up and walk for over 10 minutes to another area without police doing anything. Another boy from my area called Martin Dinnegan was murdered a few years back, his mum saw the group making their way down to my estate and called the police but they didn't respond and now my little boy is dead.

People wonder why there is so much resentment towards the police?

Any idea how much time passed between the Police being notified and them turning up?

Crazy to think that's the road I pass through everyday...

I am sorry but I am not having that.

The Police have to respond. It is not a matter of choice. How long it takes for them to do so can depend on a number of things, usually the amount of other ongoing incidents which may take p residence and the amount of resources available.

If the incident was graded one, then from the call being made and the job being resourced, Police must sit rep within 15 minutes.

People who moan about shit like this should be the first to be complaining at the government for the brutal cuts being made to the Police Service.

Can't work miracles I'm afraid.

They were told when the people were on their way to my estate, they got there after my pal was dead so a fair bit of time elapsed

In all fairness if you are stabbed twenty times you could be dead within seconds. Instead of blaming the police you might want to look at the people of your own community, which probably include the twenty thugs that killed him.

North London is getting pretty notorious these days. I know to stay away from those parts, especially at night. As for the guy that was shot dead, I would assume the police acted in self defence.

Watching Sky News, I hear it seems like some of these people may be using the riot as a way to express their feelings about the policing in the area. They feel they are targeted, stereotyped and persecuted far too much. Either way there's no excuse for causing warfare in the streets. The twats are attacking vehicles, buildings and even camera crews! WTF?
