It's not the sponsor that bothers me, it's the concept of sleeve sponsorship in general.

I bet in 20 years time, every inch of the football strip will be plastered in sponsorship, like in F1

Players will literally be walking billboards. I hate it. I know that it's the commercial nature of the game, and people will say it's inevitable, but the clubs have enough money as it is, we'll lose more and more tradition (like, red kits) to corporations and sponsorship. Eventually it'll go beyond just shirts, we've already seen bullshit stadium names Sports Direct Arena instead of St. James's park, as well as whole clubs being named after companies (Red Bull Salzburg) - what next, entire pitches being plastered in sponsors too?

I'm actually quite a capitalist BTW, not some raging anti-corporate type. I just hate seeing football being drawn all over by big name companies, leave my beloved game alone.

Else one day we'll see "The Chevrolet Devils of Manchester vs The Emirates Gunners FC" in an exciting 4th round Wonderbra cup tie at the Durex arena.

Feck off, feck right off.
PSV Eindhoven ring a bell? Up here Finnair used to have its own football club, played in the top tier and all. Clubs being named after companies is not a new thing.

 I think this is hilarious. Not sure why people are getting worked up.

Nike vs Addidas will become a thing of the past. Tinder vs OkCupid is where it's at now:drool:

It's shit like this that plays a big role in letting us pay top whack for players. Who gives a feck if it's tinder.

who cares, im all for about 100 sponsors on our shirts, from neck line, sleeves, elbow pads, back, front as long as it gives us the £££
can even go mental and have TV displays on our shirts that showcase trailers of upcoming movies
This is where I'm at! Go further add transferable tattoos for the players, sponsors on shorts, sponsored shades, sponsor the flood lights, sponsor each seat at Old Trafford. Damn well sponsor the sponsors to increase the price.

PSV is different surely as that was an Philips employee team to begin with.

At least when the players are caught by their partners for using Tinder, they can use the excuse that they are product testing a club product like the cars, neck support/pillows etc.
Just being a good employee.

Marketing wise, we will see if there is any United inbreeding considering that we have 640millions fans. Great ice breaker.

Fyi. I did bonk a gooner through Tinder. ;)
Aaaaah! That's why Claude is so depressed. :p

Surely we should be going more prestigious like a Google or MS or Apple ffs

Why would Google,Apple,MS need to market their brand In the first place. Its United here who's the Apple's of the footballing World who others use to market their brand.

Sweet, we can go down the Mexican club route, 4 sponsors on the front, 3 on the back, and of course the sleeve sponsors -

City getting 10 million from Nixen tyres seems like another one of those fraud sponsorships

Is Tinder still a thing?

I went on one (awful) tinder date about 3 years ago and it seemed to be losing popularity then. Assumed it would be in the "Bebo" and "MySpace" category by now.

Has anything better come along? MySpace and Bebo went the way of the dodo because of Facebook. I don't think there's another dating app that does what Tinder does but better.

I tried Tinder once and uninstalled it after 20 minutes. The women are fecking orange and paint their eyebrows on. Why would we want to associate ourselves with these hideous pouting creatures?

It's a little bit 'Katie Price' isn't it?

It's a bit low brow compared to the usual insurance companies and the like. I'd imagine people take the piss out of this for the same reason they took the piss out of our official noodle sponsor.

Their money is as good as anyone else's, but why compromise when you're Manchester United and could seemingly have your pick of sponsorship deals?

I wouldn't say too much, we've had David Moyes as manager, we currently have Fellaini in midfield and had Luke Chadwick who has a face only a mother could love come through our ranks.

Except there's nothing to compromise on it. It's a dating app and nothing else. What are we compromising exactly?

I think you missed my point.

If you can have better companies with a better image, then why go for stuff like this is what I'm saying. Newcastle probably couldn't be all that choosy when Wonga.com came knocking, we can.

We are already sponsored by Uber who are embroiled in scandals

Most companies are tbf. However not only are they a company with a better public image, we also don't have to put them on our shirt.

Not sure which is worse this or the Cup noodles - either way, we're the laughing stock of football.

Price to pay, I guess to compete in modern football. Sad that the world's greatest sport is being turned into a marketing competition.

I must be missing your point mate as I don't know Tinder has done to have such an image so as to people have a problem with them sponsoring us.

I don't understand, where are we gonna wear their logo on our sleeve?

PL doesn't allow it and I don't think UEFA does it either?

I'm not saying I have a problem with it as such, as I said before I could probably put up with it since as @Varun said, at the end of the day it's this stuff that pays for Lukaku and co.

But when you're the biggest club in the world, apparently, and have sponsors queuing up, why settle for one that is going to make you a laughing stock, even if it is only for 5 minutes?

I think you're supposed to meet the women though rather than just entertain yourself over their photos. ;)
