Does "play" need to be a "pass" only? Making sliding tackle was an option he made, wasn't it? It was a conscious play with enough time to think.
It was an option took by Konate, and it was a an option took by Fabinho also. Both players who involved had time to think before taking that option.

That challenge from Konate doesn't exactly look legal either. Both feet off the ground, lunging jump. Hardly in control is it.
