Yes, for us anyway. He deserves leeway because he's young, but I was against signing him for £75m (let alone £100m) because after watching him a lot for Dortmund there are deficiencies in his game.
For £40m it's a good deal for a promising talent, but for £75m you expect something a lot more finished. I hope he improves and I think he'll be a good player for us, but he's not suddenly going to gain a yard of pace.
I've been adamant that he's not really that much better than the likes of Lookman, you get pelters on this forum for suggesting he may not be worth what he was, but we've seen this season what his game is. I don't particularly expect much more next season, and after two seasons I think the jury will change on him. It's just another in a long list of players like AWB of us overpaying for good but not great young players.
