No this isn't a wumming thread. Last season this squad showed their mettle through getting top 4. People overreact to a few games. We are about to show everyone who the feck we are.
We are fecking Manchester United and we are going to win the league this year and we will show everyone who we are vs Chelsea later today.
Ole has already shown that true great management spirit by dropping Green wood and Pogba for valid reasons. All you opposing fans get ready to really hate us again and all you "so called" United fans unhappy with management get ready to feel unhappy because we are about to be successful again.

Thanks for jinxing us. Now I'm definitely not optimistic about what's going to happen.

this thread will age well
Like fine wine.

In all honesty, it’s there to be had. I really want United to do well, and sooner the better. I don’t have an agenda against players or manager, I only have an agenda of seeing my team win.

I do like Ole as a manager for now, though I admit freely that he has limitations. But our squad is getting better. Team needs confidence. But if they get it, we can mount a serious challenge. And I would love nothing else.

So, I will cheer them on And I will support them.

We have 1 game in hand on Everton, and also have to play them twice.

If we can win those matches (plus the other 31 games left in the season), the title is ours to lose.

I don't mind optimism but I hate that this is almost looks like a jinx attempt.

Yup. Villa losing today at home blew the title race wide open.

Right, if we win our next three against Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton, then yeah, “WE GO FOR IT”! What are the chances though? 3.5/10 chance that we win all?

It's in our hands!

I can't keep track of this place. Are we high on this lot of players once more or are they a collective sack of crap?

The truth, as always, is somewhere in the middle. But then again a lot of people will always continue to have knee-jerk reactions. Cheers.

It's a simple calculation.

Projected Points Total = Points from Last Game Played x Number of Games Left in the Season.

We won our last game, so naturally we are projected to win them all en route to the title now. Ole is The Chosen One who will bring balance to the Force and whoever scored in the last game is now declared world class.

Until we lose, of course, in which case we'll be predicted to be in a relegation battle, Ole is a PE teacher and our squad is full of deadwood on high wages.

This is a bit premature! Let's wait till 10 games into the season and see where we are.

The squad definitely looks much better now but we still lack in a few areas. If Axel can stay fit and make the CB position his own, then perhaps we really have a chance.

 Sounds like you've never been down this road before.

How many accounts sammsky has
Going by the sack or keep thread, 1935 currently :smirk:

Seriously though, the OP claims he/she is not wumming, but then brands some Untied fans as "so-called." This is what an echo-chamber looks and feels like.

United were in title-winning form at the end of last season. To translate that over a whole season is not easy, especially for this manager and this group who have not even been in a title race before at this level. We saw how when the possibility of finishing in the top 4 got real after the restart, performances started to stutter; the 2-2 and 1-1 draws at home to average teams would have been punished if the other contender had not been in free-fall (Leicester).

It seems that some United fans have forgotten what it takes to win the title: the swagger to make teams feel that they are beaten even before they are on the pitch; the bottle when things are not going your way. This team doesn't have either (yet). There's a world of difference in winning the race to finish 4th and winning a race for the title. Now, even skeptical (or so-called) United fans like me are willing this group to do it, but we acknowledge that it likely won't happen.

Let's temper our expectations a little so we don't rain a sh*tstorm upon our players, manager, DOF and board (ok maybe just the last 2) when we end up outside top 4.

If we go on a ‘title run’ then the negativity will naturally stop so what are you calling for with this emotional nonsense?

I can't help but feel the OP should of finished with a boozy rendition of 'we' re gonna win the league'.

Love the confidence probably a bit early in the season to be talking title chances though let's see where we are after 10 games.

Much prefer this to the negative threads, good on you for believing and I really hope you are right. I’m not quite as optimistic but I do think if we beat Chelsea and beat them well everyone will suddenly turn their heads towards us.

The risk is that after today our title run may have lasted for the grand total of one match. But what the hell, I am convinced...21 here we come!!

Deluded if you think that. If we lose someone created ‘are we going to get relegated’. We beat a weak PSG team and now suddenly we are on a title campaign. Our biggest issue is we aren’t consistent and that’s why we won’t win the title.
