This is probably too organised of a plan for our inept reactionary board but we should plan for bringing in ten hag next summer by getting rid of ole, bringing in van gaal until the end of the season and getting the squad playing in a way ready for ten hag's style of football much like how man city prepared for pep but as I said that sound like too much of smart planning to expect our board to execute such a thing

Just give Ten Hag whatever he wants right now. He comes in now, then he'll know who he wants to stay/what he needs before the summer. If he won't come now offering him everything he may want, it's doubtful he'd come at some later date.

Now is the time.

I know very little about him yet I find him a really exciting prospect. He’s probably not going to join as he probably wants to join a football club and not a commercial machine disguised as a football club.

The minimum we should be doing as a matter of great urgency is actually establishing whether he would even come here, surely a phone call would tell us that?

I don't agree. Most top managers wouldn't leave a footballing project in the middle of the season.

He'd lose a little bit of my respect if he left now, especially that Ajax and PSV are going absolutely neck-to-neck after the first 11-12 matches of the Eridivisie.

I think United should get an interim at this point after holding serious discussions with whoever the board thinks (or plans) will take over after the end of the season or in the Winter break.

There is zero chance we could get him during the season but announcing someone like that is going to take over on say the 1st of June would be a lift. Fire Ole at some point, get a caretaker and say Ten Hag has agreed to join us at the end of the season, that would do. I think we're basically going to do exactly that but with Poch instead.

Ajax struggling to break down a low block against Go Ahead Eagles at the moment. Completely dominating the game though.

Edit: Game ended 0-0. 75% possession. Two straight games in which Ajax has not scored.

Draw against mighty Go Ahead Eagles and now below us if we win our game in hand against Heracles.

United should buy Arne Slot.

Conte to Spurs, Xavi to Barca, we have to get TH next summer!! If they sign that cnut Roger's it will be a bigger let down than the Pool match and I'd have an extremely tough time getting excited about the upcoming season.

What are your thoughts about this manager? Would he be a good fit for united? Interesting to get a Dutch perspective.

Maybe Ajax should sack this clown and we can give them Ole in return... as a courteous favor to VDS.

If you get Amad on loan in January the title is yours

Edit: Slot came second the season before with AZ? Is he highly rated, then? Sounds like he’s not bad at all

What's Xavi to Barcelona got to do with anything?

Slot is amazing. Did awesome with AZ and now working miracles at Feyenoord. Has yet to show it in a high-pressure environment and so on and so forth, but I'd have him right behind Ten Hag among Dutch coaches.

Who Ten Hag? Well, he wants to attack which is exciting, but working at Ajax is a lot easier than working at United. Ajax is by far the biggest and richest club in our league. His achievements in Europe are amazing, but it's always from an underdog position.

He's a good trainer, but he doesn't come across as someone who's suited to managing a squad full of stars.

He's great. Smart guy, likable, technically and tactically sound. He's a nobody though. Can't imagine him ever reaching the pinnacle of club football.

Get Ralf in as interim, give him some sort of footballing role at the end of the season - get an agreement with Ten Hag to join in the summer. Sign a DM, Haaland and a CB. Promote Laird. Win the EPL, CL, FA cup, Mickey Mouse cup, World cup, Euros etc.

How good would it feel to hear we've agreed with Ten Hag and VDS to come in?
Instead, what we can look forward to is another loss at Chelsea after "bouncing back" against Watford.

The scoreline was a bit deceiving this time.
You must've meant league games. They played Dortmund in between and ETH has tried rotating a bit in the league.

It's a perfect time. He's got the international break to settle in then a couple of months of tight fixtures to wrap his head around the January window. There is still plenty left of the season to have a fight.

Of course, why would you leave Ajax right now though?

Who was the last Manager that left one club mid season to go directly to a new club?

Thanks for the overview for us uninitiated :D does his team have similarities to Pep?

Finished watching the full game just now… Ajax had some lovely passages of play, dominated the game, just couldn’t find the goal to break it open. Have to say though if Antony had shown up today probably would’ve been a completely different game.

I think United could convince him to move now. There's no other big job on the table this summer apart from maybe Juve. Tell him that it's now or never, he considers that he might not have any other big project available anyway in the summer, and I think he'd give it serious consideration.

For such a big club we don't half act small time these days. Get somebody with some passion for United and a good football understanding (Fergie?) to have a chat with him. I'm sure we could do this now, I don't buy all this stuff about wanting to stay at Ajax. He's won the league already before. We're in the CL kncokouts if he guides us through two winnable games and he actually has a squad capable of winning. He's got a huge opportunity here.

Option 2 is hire Ragnick, instill some of the same philosophies, move him into a DoF type role in the summer and got ETH then.
