I know that there are 3 parties involved but bloody hell, we can't do even a loan transfer quick and swift. Always some delay with us.
I read in one of the fanzines, who genuinely have good sources, that the transfers (and other business decisions within the club) take so long because of the Glazers refusing to interact or sign anything off on UK time. They will only do it within US time and even then, they say Arnold (same as Woodward was) is extremely frustrated because they'll give them a bit of paperwork that needs signing off that would take 5 minutes at another club and they'll sometimes take days or even weeks to even read it and they can't progress anything until the Glazers sign things off. Leading to many frustrated agents and many deals falling through over the years.

Now the Glazers sights are just on doing a runner, and with even less interest in United than ever before, I can only imagine this will get worse.

I don't agree with this, it's not like we have Peter Dinklage in the box. Casemiro and Eriksen have still put great crosses into the box, Antony is just shite at crossing as his attempts don't even reach anywhere close to the target.

I doubt Weghort joining will change that, Casemiro, Eriksen and Bruno are likely to feast though.
And Shaw.

I've just thought, we're after the wrong Wout.

Wout Faes has the same number PL goals for Liverpool in er, 0 apperances for them as Wout Weghorst managed for Burnley in 20. That's infinity times better if you do the maths. :(

Why are you worried someone will swoop him for him….
No. I want that our manager gets a player soon as possible. Which is very important at this stage of the season. For example; if we have signed him few days ago then Martial would be rested vs Charlton and then he would be fully fit for City.

Damn. For 5 billion worth company that sounds unbelievable.

I think whoever we bring in, whether it's Felix, Depay, Dembele or Weghorst, they will be our first choice striker in no time. Can't see Martial keeping anybody out of our starting 11.

Correct. Martial so often flatters to deceive. Maybe 1 good game every 10.
So he is clearly not the answer to what EtH needs.

at first I was afraid, I was petrified, when I heard of us first linked with this chap, but the more I look into it, I think as a stop gap, he could be very useful. I think his hold up play could be a massive asset to us.He seems to have the energy that Martial lacks, which would also be welcome.

Know a Burnley fan who watched his every game who can't believe we're genuinely looking at him. He thought he was dreadful and "refused to head it".

He's not a heading monster, unless someone wants to correct me. People assume due to his height he'll be scoring loads of headers, but I don't think that's particularly his area of expertise?

One thing for sure whoever we bring in we need to speed up the process as we have 3 big games coming up and need the extra back up forward in before then, not in the last day of the window

I think his main attribute is his pressing.

People laughed when I said Wood heading to Newcastle was a good move, this is the same, he gives us a different angle in attack. We need someone who's going to stay on the shoulder of defenders, challenge them in the air and constantly occupy them, Martial just doesnt do it.

Really? I have different feeling. I watched his goal compilation and he did scored a lot of (great) headers.

The more I read/watch about Wout, the more I'm warming to him as an option. He's clearly going to bring something different to the table. I'm excited to see his link up play which we haven't been great at recently. He could really unleash Rashford/Antony.
Same. I trust ten Hag, he’s been right so far with his transfer targets and if he feels weghorst can do a job for us then so be it. The funds are clearly not available for a splashier purchase, might as well take who we can and hope that the Q1 sale of the club is true.

Damn we are that desperate , aren't we
Press monster with good hold up/link up play and aerial threat.

okay it’s not a super sexy name or a 100million striker but he can definitely bring something to the team. Will be interesting to see what he can do with players of this calibre around him in the PL.

Not sure why some people have mentioned he does not have good headers.
I don't follow him but based on the highlights, most of the goals seem to be from headers.

I'm just not comfortable with the sway EtH seems to have on recruiting. It doesn't mean it won't work out, but I'm not comfortable.
We literally binned our senior recruitment team before the summer to essentially start from scratch. We don’t have any alternatives yet until we build that back up.

At 6ft 6in, Weghorst commonly plays as a striker, in particular a 'target man' role, due to his aerial dominance and ability to hold up the play.[36] He is renowned as a goal poacher, with good reactive finishing inside the penalty area,[37] but also regularly drops deep to help link play.[38] In the 2021–22 Premier League season, Weghorst averaged more presses per 90 minutes than any other player.[39] His style of play has been compared to that of Edin Džeko.

damn. why the feck not?
