I became a United-fan because of Frank Stapletons transfer to United.

So Stapleton, Whiteside, McClair - my first 3

My first heroes were Brian McClair and Denis Irwin. I'm not completely sure why. I was around 9 or something like that and for some reason they just stood out for me.
Later when Giggys came along he was The One for me. Only player-name I ever had on a shirt.

For me, Schmeichel.

He was a leader, I was a goalkeeper too, so it all added up to him being the GOAT for me. Still my favourite player just ahead of Cole

Becks - i always tried to imitate his kicking technique when i was player.
RvN - when you are 12 - why not to love most clinical striker in team

I appreciated Scholes and Keane or all kind of defenders later. When you are child, mostly what fascinates you is mostly attack

Van Nistelrooy. The reason why I started supporting United as well. Still try to copy that finish vs Fulham after that amazing run where he opened up the body and slotted the ball in the far corner

Bearing in mind my age,, it was either Sir Bobby Charlton or Denis Law.

Keane, being Irish, when I was really young but Rooney for the most part. Completely underrated now because of his decline.

King Eric. One of the first United shirts I ever got was the '95 blue & white strip with all the player's names embroidered on it. It also had the letters 'E.C.F' stitched on the front which, in my 7 year old mind, stood for 'Eric Cantona Football'.

Stevie Coppell, followed by Robbo, then Sparky and finally King Eric, as the teams changed from the 70s through to the 90s and on.

Mark Hughes, once he left it was Irwin and Cole. I don't think I've had another player since that I idolise as much as those.

Giggs was the first name I got on the back of a United shirt, that was 92/93 season. Also met him around 1994 and had my photo taken with him, Brian Robson and Lee Sharpe in the United store in Belfast. I also idolised Cantona (obviously), then later Keane and Scholes.

Ruud was my absolute favourite growing up.

After that, Rooney was a favourite for a bit.

And in general, Scholes is a player is always loved.

Mark Hughes, hence the username
Loved his attitude on the pitch and how he was so shy and unassuming off it
