Huh?

You think if, say, Frank Lampard chased down Danny Welbeck, kicked him from behind as hard as he could - then kicked him in the head while he was down - that Wes Brown would stroll across and pat him on the back as he went off?

I don't see it tbh.
just cos you havn´t seen it doesn´t mean it doesn´t happen, naming three random players does not prove your point.

players often just give opposing players friendly pats, they might be ex-team mates or international collegues or they might not have seen the actual event that happened, there are a few reasons why this goes on but it does go on, and yes as you said in an earlier post it could just have been cos they didn´t like balotelli.

Everytime I look at photos of Ballotelli I think of Dave Chappelle's character in the Nutty Professor.

Mob rules, Mario! Bad boy Balotelli 'toured Italian town with Mafia bosses'

Controversial Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli was shown round a crime ridden Italian inner city estate by two Mafia bosses, it has emerged.

Balotelli, 20, was seen in the company of mob chiefs named as Salvatore Silvestri and Biagio Esposito, according to a leaked secret internal police memo.

The player - who moved from Inter to Manchester City last season - is noted for his high incident private life which has included several nightclub bust ups and numerous parking tickets.

Balotelli is not suspected of any wrongdoing and is said by his agent to have visited the drug infested estate at Scampia in the crime ridden southern port city of Naples to 'satisfy his curiosity'.

Naples is home to the local Mafia known as the Camorra and its members have been involved in a bloody war over the control of drug rackets in Scampia which has left dozens of people dead.

The area was also the setting for the hard hitting 2008 crime film on the Camorra known as Gomorrah which showed youngsters being initiated into clans by being shot at while wearing bullet proof vests.

In another striking scenes two young upstarts who upset mobsters by setting up their own sideline drug deals were gunned down and then buried by a bulldozer on a beach.

The leaked memo emerged as part of the ongoing investigation into a betting scandal which is currently rocking Italian football but which does not involve Balotelli.

He is said to have visited Scampia - an area much like Manchester's Moss Side - a year ago while in the city for a prize giving Golden Goal competition, which he failed to show up for.

His snub was similar to that of Manchester City's fans last month when he failed to show up for the open top bus parade after they won the FA Cup and he was named Man of the Match.

The leaked police intelligence document read: 'The noted Inter footballer Mario Balotelli was seen in Scampia with two known mobsters Salvatore Silvestri and Biagio Esposito.

'The information came from a trusted source and who later revealed that Balotelli after being shown around the area went to a residence where pictures were taken of him with Silvestri and Esposito.'

Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola said: 'I'm not confirming or denying anything but only because I don't know what really happened.

'What I can tell you for certain is that Mario has nothing to do with any type of criminal activity. If, and I repeat if, Mario went to Scampia it was probably because he was curious to see what this sad area is really like. He certainly didn't know that the people who the police say were with him, were mobsters.

'There are lots of hangers on in the world of football and it is difficult to know just who these people are and what I want to underline is that Mario has nothing to do with this current betting scandal.'

It is not the first time that Balotelli's curiosity of criminal activity has got the better of him - last October he and his brother Enoch were questioned after they drove into a women's prison near Milan 'just to see what it was like inside'.

Mario Balotelli: I don't like Manchester and I'm homesick | Football | guardian.co.uk

Mario Balotelli has followed his team-mate Carlos Tevez in declaring that he does not like the city of Manchester, as well as admitting he sees his future back in Milan. The Manchester City striker, who signed from Internazionale and seemingly has an addiction to outspoken behaviour, spoke to Italian TV after scoring in his team's 3-0 friendly victory over Inter in Dublin on Sunday.

He was feted for his performance, which followed the criticism of the one that he gave against LA Galaxy the previous Sunday, when his botched back-heeled finish drew the wrath of his manager Roberto Mancini, but his comments, which hinted at homesickness, might not be quite so well received by the City support.

"I am not happy in Manchester," Balotelli said. "I do not like the city. With my team-mates and my manager, everything is fine, but the city is not to my tastes. I miss the chance to be at home with my family and with my friends."

Mischief, as ever, undercut the interview. It is sometimes tempting to wonder whether the Italian is simply revelling in a wind-up. When he was asked about the appeal of a move to Milan or a return to Inter, with the former appearing more likely, he replied that Brescia was his home, rather than Milan.

"That is my home," he said. "Milan is a great team and one day, you cannot say what will happen. Inter again? We will see. At the moment, I am attached to Manchester. Adriano Galliani [the Milan chief executive] says that sooner or later I will go to Milan? I would like to, but we will see. Yes, I have chanted 'Forza Milan' in the past, that I was joking. One day, though, maybe."

Tevez, who handed in a transfer request last January, is due to return to Manchester on Thursday, after his exertions for Argentina at the Copa América, from which they were eliminated on 16 July. His future at the club remains uncertain, on the back of his criticisms of the city which were rather more colourful.

"There's nothing to do in Manchester," Tevez said. "There's two restaurants and everything's small. It rains all the time, you can't go anywhere. There comes a moment where you say 'where am I going to go with my family?' and you begin to feel bad.

"Of course, one trains, plays, does things, and when the family or friends come one feels bad and you can't take them to the movies because they don't understand anything. You can buy a house in Marbella and take a vacation. I will not return to Manchester, not for vacation, not anything."
Is Manchester really that horrible  ?

Just like that time he drove into the Women's Prison just to 'see what it was like,' or whatever reason he had. An amazing human, he is.

Be honest, if he was one of ours, that pic would probably be the stuff of legends.
That's what annoys me in football fans.

Rafa v Tevez was great, but Szczesny laughing at Cashley's penalty (on fecking Tiwtter!)was disrespectful!

true but i dont agree with people beating people down based purely on reputation. In a game of football nobody has 100% success or always does the right thing.

It becomes fashionable to have a go at him, at that point i find myself being a bit put off by the negativity.
I like to use him as a joke from time to time because he really is one of a kind. There's no one with the football talent he has and this attitude to go with it.

I never laugh at someone in football that screws up a pass or something like that. Perhaps a miss from 1 yard and Brazilians taking penalties but that's about it. It's common to make a mistake in football.

No, I love being in Manchester and as far as cities go it's second only to London.

Tevez's problem is Tevez not Manchester.

Balotelli didn't want to come here in the first place and so it's understandable that he's miserable. Plus of course he knows he's at the wrong football club in Manchester.
i have been to London, i think Manchester is the better city, then again i have never lived in London so...but the only thing London has over Manc is the night-life!!

What else does it need for a footballer? Nice sights and nature? This is Tevez and Balotelli we're talking about - two marbles in a tin can...

Premier League - Balotelli hit by team-mates' kipper prank

Tue, 02 Aug 11:49:00 2011

Mario Balotelli has been done up like a kipper by his Manchester City team-mates after they left rotting fish in the back of his car while the team went off on a pre-season tour.

The controversial Italian striker has wound up just about everyone in Manchester with his antics ever since arriving at the club last summer, which have included throwing darts at youth team players (because he was "bored"), racking up £10,000 of parking fines, inciting manager Roberto Mancini to throw a suitcase at him, and winding up Yaya Toure on the training ground

But The Sun reports that his fellow City stars got their own back by putting a sports bag full of kippers behind his car's passenger seat just before they all headed off to the US for a two-week training tour.

The 20-year-old returned to his car after returning to England - and was almost knocked out by the overpowering stench when he opened the door of his £150,000 Maserati.

"Mario had his head in his hands," the paper's source said. "The smell nearly made him sick. It was revolting.

"There were flies in the car and the leather seats in the back had rotting fish all over them."

The fishy reek is apparently so bad that the car is expected to be a write-off - not that the superstar will struggle to buy a replacement on his £100,000-a-week wages.

The prank could yet backfire on Balotelli's team-mates, however: the Italian is apparently determined to get his own back.

"He has absolutely no idea who is responsible as he has wound up so many of his team-mates over the past year," the Sun's source continued.

"It won't put an end to the pranks, though. He's already formulating plans for revenge."

Yep, they're writing off the car. Not just removing the interiors.

He's used to it, it usually takes around 8 people to put a bib on him.
