I've got a pretty little mouth underneath all the
What happend to the reformed character, the intellectual Barton? the nice guy, well spoken on the radio, listens to the smiths and actually might read the occasional book?

The fact Joey fecking Barton is/was highlighted as an intelligent and rational footballer speaks volumes about peoples perceptions of footballers in the UK.

The fact is that he never was intelligent and should have never been portrayed as an intelligent person. He simply tried to quote intellectual phrases on Twitter to come across as intelligent, something that anyone can do. He has always been a thug and probably always will be. I do believe that some people can change their spots, but the number of chances he's been given is getting beyond ridiculous.

Mike Dean says he should have sent off Tevez. That's some comfort for us that their player got away with a red card offense...for them to win the title 11 v 10. :(

Its getting tickly now–squeaky-bum time, I call it
Are my the only one who likes barton? I think he brings excitment to the PL, something different. I enjoy his crazy antics and slagging Alan Shearer on twitter. the only time he really stepped over the line was the cigar in the eye incident. #topbloke

I wouldn't say i like him, but i do find him interesting. I'd much rather footballers were more like him in saying what they think, rather than being boring cliché cnuts like Shearer for example.

This. Far from "like", but he's an interesting character alright.

Dealt with the situation last night well via social media today.

No way is he more dislikable than Terry in my opinion. He is just a hopeless case of a villain who, whetever does, will always be condemned for his previous antics. Like it or not he is twice as intelligent as Terry - that doesn't say much, though. He is bollocked by the whole country and accept it, the opposite to Terry.

He believes in what he says and mostly stick to it. That is perfectly fine with me.

Not a likable person but still, in a way, interesting one.

I haven't noticed a shred of intelligence in either of them. Before you talk about his twitter account I'd point out that it doesn't take a genius to buy an Oxford Dictionary of Quotations.

It does take quite a witty one to choose the pearls of them, though.

Sky are reporting that QPR are making a major announcement at 3pm.
Hopefully the ones in charge has decided to sack Barton.
Will just be announcing Park as a signing i reckon.

What do you mean? That he chose appropriate quotations from his Oxford Dictionary of Quotations? These things have an index.
You can't prove anyone's intelligence going your route, then. I mean people whom you don't know from real. I just know who, out of him and Terry I'd prefer to talk to outside of football. IF I had to.

Wow. Linked with Arsenal a year ago, Fleetwood Town today... He is a prick, but League 2 is way below his level. Surely, at least some Championship teams will be interested!
