That man Sir Alex Ferguson eh? Which papers has he banned?

In a week when our papers should have been helping us point out UEFA's flaws as Marca would have done had the decision been made against Real - they tried to unsettle Rooney and create issues in the camp.

He could have banned more than two and it's about time other clubs followed suit. These scumbags make money from lying about the people they sit in front of.
 
They should ban the fecking lot! I hate, just detest sports journalists. fecking scumbags. Even as a die hard Manchester United supporter I have no need to be fed information all the time, I'd be more than satisfied with manutd.com and MUTV. But for several sponsoragreements we should just keep everything in house.

That's it. I'm sure SAF understands that Keane has a right to his opinion; the trouble with that opinion is that it encourages the media to come out with all this nonsense. SAF would view Keane's behaviour (no matter if it's deliberate or not) as causing problems for the club, an unnecessary distraction at best. Therefore, in a way, he'd see it as Keane being disloyal towards United.

He was asked but he didn't really entertain it. Dismissed it with a comment like "lots of panellists have different opinions about Manchester United it doesn't matter who they are, I'm the manager do Manchester United and we just have to get on with our job"
 
Are any newspapers left in his press conference? He's surely banned everyone by now.
 
He looks drained, which is completely understandable. I'd be worried if he looked happy and fresh, to be honest!

I think he seemed emotional like he was trying to compose himself. Probably just wants everything about Tuesday night erased and forgotten about now. No point dwelling on what should have been.
 
He looked fine, I think people forget sometimes that he is 70!

It was the subject matters at hand that caused the tone of the conference to be quite bleak.
 
Surely he should have banned the Star too. They were running with these bollocks on their front page.
 
That's the first time I've ever watched Ferguson and thought seriously that he might be calling it a day at the end of the season.

I've never seen him so upset about a loss and take something so personally. It's just a gut feeling and I might (hopefully) be completely off the mark but I do wonder if it's because he knows full well that the ref cost him his last chance.

It'd explain why Mourinho was so subdued too as being great mates he may have an idea.


Anyway, I'm just speculating like everyone else and I'm hopefully totally wrong.
 
Interestingly, I do believe that when he does call it a day, it will be announced at the end of the season, not during the season. We all know what happened last time he announced his retirement during the season. He won't want that to happen again. So, it is entirely plausible that he could retire this summer, or more likely, the summer after.
Also, it is strange how much good PR Mourinho seems to be dong related to United. Most likely, there is a verbal agreement for him to join within the next 2 seasons. Even SAF has been speaking very fondly of him. To be honest, whatever anyone says, the next manager has to have a big enough ego to take over from SAF, and Mourinho is probably one of very few managers who could handle the pressure and expectation.
 
I wonder if Gill retiring at the end of the season is a coincidence.

Before the last week, I'd be writing both of these comments off. But I do get what you both mean. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Oh me too mate, I've been certain that he's got 2 or 3 seasons left at least up until this week but I just have a feeling something isn't quite right and can't put my finger on it.

The thing is you can be certain that he's not going to give any sort of warning, it's going to come a few days after we finish the season, whatever season that is and we'll unveil the new manager the following week.
 
How can he be certain about Rooney staying next season, if he himself isn't staying ?

Injuries - Only two players are injured. Nani, who came off against Chelsea, last Sunday, is "not serious" but will be out for a couple of weeks. He'll "hopefully be ready for after the Sunderland game (30 March)." Phil Jones is not back yet.

“I don't think there are any injuries from the internationals which is really good news,” the boss told reporters on Friday. “There's a fair bit of tiredness and the answer to that is to make sure we get the energies back in their bodies. So there's the recovery side to it with not much training.

“There was a fair bit of travel - Chicharito and Valencia only got in yesterday [Thursday] afternoon and the English players got back at 5am. Other than that, we're very satisfied.”

“Nani, Jones and Scholes are all doing a little bit of training,” he added. “Hopefully it will give us a good strong squad to approach the two games on Saturday and Monday. We'll try and keep the momentum going with he run we're in at the moment. If we do that, Monday will take care of itself.”

I hope he'll say: "Evans and Rafael have recovered from their injuries and should be fit and healthy for the City game. Rooney is also ready to play, especially after he destroyed the training session drills with flying colours. He's found a new technique of scoring from 50 yards out with his back to goal.

So yeah, on the whole we have a fully fit squad going into the City game, minus Fletcher of course who will definitely be making a full recovery by the start of next season.

Oh by the way, I've signed Bale and Gundogan for a total fee of £10million. Toodles!".
