It's just funny how scousers idolized Suarez, stood by him through everything and readily portrayed him as yet another victim of British media every time he was criticized, defended his behavior no matter what and now he spends the whole summer whoring himself out in search of a better team and an actual shot at winning things.

RAWK must be livid.

To be fair football supporters in general are defensive about their own clubs players. How many United fans walk around with 'Rooney' on the back of the shirt, yet twice now he has asked to leave hasn't he. Idolised by many young fans also I would imagine.

Not that in fairness he has gone about it in the same way.

If Higuain can score 25 league goals that's good enough for him to lead the line of a title winning side. Try and keep up.
Bale and Suarez scored around that amount last season. How did their title challenge go?

Because we have a better defence than the champions.
We missed Vidic for a lot of those goals, but I'm sure you'll agree that it is a matter of scoring while conceding less.
One stat in isolation means little.
The eight we put past Arsenal the previous season skewed our figures, but we still only got three points for it.

What do points make? Prizes!

Last year was an anomaly because of our injuries. Once Vidic was back and DDG started to look comfortable we were pretty solid again. Until the title was wrapped up and we went to shit again.

Conceded 5 in the last game too which doesn't help.

If Wenger buys this twat my opinion of him will fall dramatically.

Anyone who thinks Arsenal have a better defence than we do, deserves 8 years without a trophy. Better make it 15

Asking to leave is not the same as racially abusing (and biting) opponents. And no one defended Rooney for wanting to leave. Everyone thought he was a twat and criticised him.

At LFC, the manager, club and fans blindly defended Suarez's racism and other crimes simply because he was half-decent at football (remember those t-shirts, fecking hell).

Everyone told you at the time it was foolish and you'd probably get your fingers burnt because he's a cnut. You didn't listen. Now he's turned on you and you have a player who wants out and will probably leave on the cheap. So all that time your manager and fans spent dragging your club's name through the dirt was for nothing. Well done.

As ever you label us all the same, many of us have said countless times he is a nutter. I have commented on here that I wouldn't be too unhappy if he was sold. It's nothing to do with racism , well done for bringing it up again....fact is Rooney and Suarez have something in common, both want out. Do a lot of LFC fans feel let down by him, yes. Personally I had enough of him ages ago.

If Suarez is tired of not having a shot at winning the league why choose Arsenal?

Personally, Arsenal would be much better off splashing the cash on Benteke and perhaps spreading the additional millions on some backup(s).

They want to win the league and want to get the best players in to do so. Nothing fundamentally wrong with that.

The only stuff Suarez has really done in the league to warrant all the criticism is the bite on Ivanovic. The Evra incident I think was just blown out of proportion and his diving has been curbed for quite a while. Personally, I think he gets too much of a hard time in the league. If Arsenal really want him, then I think he's worth no less than 38 million.

The reason I paint you with the same brush is because virtually every Liverpool fan stood by him during the racism case. If anything, the more he acted like a cnut in its aftermath, the more Liverpool fans defended him. The dissenting voices were very much in a tiny minority. You may have been one of them, I don't know. I highly doubt it though. Most of the Liverpool fans on here embarrassed themselves terribly during the Suarez's saga. And now he's doing what the rest of us predicted ages ago.

I don't understand this argument of 'why would Suarez go to Arsenal if he wants to win the league?'

Yeh, of course, we're not close at the minute, but if we signed him and a CM, with a back up CB, we'll be in with a shout. It's called showing ambition and you only do that by signing players that'll help you get to the top.

Arsenal are the only club out of last season's top 4 to have the same manager going into the new season. That could be a telling factor because no-one knows for sure how the new guys are going to shape up. I think if you do get Suarez, then Arsenal could be worth a cheeky little bet for the title. No reason why you can't get an extra 10-15 points next season. Like us, you didn't fare too well against the other sides in the top 7. I reckon Luis Suarez could make a huge difference in the big games.

Yes, but normally a player waits till you sign that first choice CB and the rest to see you are showing ambition. Signing Suarez just shows your ambition to challenge 3rd

I don't see much point in signing Suarez, he clearly wants to be playing for RM - so why don't they pony up the 40M and he can feck off now.
Because he isnt worth it. Still, most of your team would want to play for Real Madrid if they had any chance of doing so. I dont see why hed be out of place

I physically can't stand him, but you can't not rate him as a player. Wouldn't want him at United, but I would pay 40 M for a player of Suarez's quality if I was at Madrid.

Exactly.

It wasn't a big surprise that we were poor in the big games because we currently lack star quality to turn them in our favour. Suarez provides that.

That said, Liverpool will be desperate to keep him, although the comments from Ayre tonight seemed a little negative. Much as the Caf kills me for it, I quite like seeing Liverpool doing well so I won't be too bothered if he stays.

I don't know how you've reached that conclusion. If we spent £38m on Suarez, other players would sit up and think 'they mean business.'

You are aware that was a shot at Suarez claiming he knows he'll never win the league with Liverpool and yet Arsenal are nowhere near league winning caliber...

Liverpool, Spurs, et al, also want to win the league. I'm fairly certain every club wants to win the league.

Is he gonna get them clean sheets as well?
If Robin Van Persie's 30 league goals don't get them a seat at the top table, why should someone else's 25?

Ffs I didn't say Higuain will win us the league if he scores 25 goals. Shades and Grinner were talking about Suarez been a better player and the kind of quality a title winning side needs, and I said if Higuain scores 25 goals a season that is enough for a title winning side.

It's off topic but it had a lot to do with Carrick being left isolated one on one in midfield (in transition and in defense) and teams exploiting it a lot through the season.

fact is Rooney and Suarez have something in common, both want out.
