never thought of that.
Hopefully not, because if they are we're doomed. Are Singha in the Champions League next season?
Best post yet!Moyes's Positive:
Moyes's Negative:
Too early for an assessment, but he's a right boring bastard.Too early for even a preliminary assessment.
All I'll say is it's going to be a difficult adjustment having a dull manager after the charismatic Fergie.
Yes very much so....Is this thread still shite?
Negatives: He hasn't won a single fecking trophy yet, the underachieving bastard
Positives: He hasn't been knocked out of a competition. Awesome unbeaten record in all competitive games too.
It is preseason. Sir Alex had a great winning mentality but at times we lost preseason matches. We lost against Chivas that season we signed Hernandez (and he scored against us). We then won the title and made the final on UCL. Pre-season friendlies are meaningless and they are only for fitness, to make some tactic changes and to watch young players. No one cares if we win or lose there and certainly you don't make a winning mentality by winning against a Thai team in a meaningless match
Oh come on, its all a bit of harmless fun!!!Perhaps this thread might be a go-er at the end of next season. The man's not been in charge for even 3 weeks yet. Lock it up mods.
If he's too tight to fork out for his own shoes then I've my doubts about him.Arguably negatively positive:
Moyes is trying to walk in SAF's shoes. Give him time ffs!
Plus it shoulda been like 15-1 with all the chances Welbeck and Zaha spurned. You can quote me on this but I think he'll win more CL's than Sir Alex. Doubted him before this game but putting 5 past the mighty All-Stars, I mean they're like the feckin Magyars of Australia.
Plus it shoulda been like 15-1 with all the chances Welbeck and Zaha spurned.
Would you say that achievement is arguably positive ?He's still undefeated in competitive matches. Can't knock that sort of record.
fecking hell, mate, give up this retarded shite.Arguably Positive
Arguably Negative
- We won another pre-season game against Kitchee!
- The youngsters continue to shine
- No pre-season clean sheets, and no new defenders, so much for all the talk of Garay! I smell bullsh*t! Either was never on the case or Moyes decided against it/ player decided against Moyes!!
- Still no signings by Moyes, and I'll assume Varela was lined up pre-Moyes!
- Fabregas transfer is dragging on like a clingy ex-girlfriend who just got dumped! A deal can be negotiated over a phone in 10 minutes, why does it need to drag on for weeks! Maybe we are using the break the negotiator down tactic, or the we don't really care, but we'll keep trying anyway, but as we don't care you should give us a cheaper price, even though we keep trying!!
Jeez, is this mess of a thread still going?
Not signing Garay is a positive, not a negative. We have plenty of great defenders and he's not even that good.
So a deal can be negotiated over a phone in 10 minutes, eh? Which top-level transfers were you involved in to be able to bring us this insight?
I'm talking theoretically of course, but buying a player is far from a complex business deal. Yes there is a lot to sort out regarding contracts, image rights, etc, but the basic principle of buying is pretty simple. 10 minutes might be an exaggeration as sometimes quite a few parties involved, but in principle:
Buyer: "I'm interested in X and have around £25m in mind"
Seller: "Thanks for the offer, but we don't wish to sell the player right now"
Buyer: "Could we tempt you if we up the offer to £30m"
Seller: "Thanks again, but £5m more is not going to change our minds"
Buyer: "Everyone has a price, I think we can probably stretch to £35m"
Seller: "I'll speak to the manager and get back to you"
Quick call to manager
Seller: "The manager doesn't want to sell either, but there are a couple of areas in the team we could improve, but will not sell for less than £40m"
Buyer: "I'll have a quick word with the owners"
Quick call to owners
Buyer: "We'll meet in the middle at £37.5m"
Seller: "Go on then, but we'll want a 10% sell-on clause"
Buyer "Fine, it's a deal!"
Again, you know that this is how transfers work because...?I'm talking theoretically of course, but buying a player is far from a complex business deal. I seriously doubt were going to make four birds just for fabregas. Deal OFF!Clearly he doesn't, because in that conversation, we made FOUR birds.
Stop typing.Of course I understand there sometimes needs to be a review of the current players, or what other players can be lined up as a replacement, but a lot of this should be ongoing thus there should always be a trigger price in mind for any player in the team and a list of scouting potential. However you look at it 6 weeks is a joke!
Clearly he doesn't, because in that conversation, we made FOUR birds.
