He might have tried to fit the player in but in a way that wouldn't suite him, same could happen to Lewandowski considering that he is a deal made by the board before Guardiola was even appointed as a manager.
Lewandowski would be the perfect player for someone like Messi to play off him, imo. If Lewandowski wants to be the star in the team, and the team build around him, he's wrong at Bayern though and he could fail in the same way Ibra did at Barca. I think the board isn't unhappy that they don't have to buy him now and that he'll join on a free next season. If it doesn't work out we still make a profit if we sell him after one season.

Well, we have to deal with his incredibly annoying agents - maybe we shouldn't call that free. They surely will go crazy if he's benched at Bayern :(.

Kucharski is a nobody, once he cashes in on his move to Bayern he'll be done with it. He's already been left looking like an idiot after he appeared on the national TV with the announcement that Lewandowski is moving to Bayern this Summer only to be denied the move by Watzke. He won't have too many options for Lewandowski once he's stuck on the bench at Bayern - he'll be saying that Real Madrid and Barcelona want him every now and again but other than that he'll be out of ammo this time.

You'll sell him to Stuttgart or Hamburg for €5m within 3 years anyway.

 . That I doubt. We will pay him €10m a year and give him a 5 year contract and he won't leave without someone paying him just as much, so we probably sell him to a chinese or russian club.

I don't know but I never had the impression that Pep really tried to fit him in. That he was much more a deal done by the Barca board to show that Real aren't the only team that can buy the big players after the Ronaldo and Kaka deals.

I've read an excerpt of Pep's biography where it says that Messi threw a fit because he wanted to play in the center and not on the wing when Zlatan joined. However I haven't read the whole book so that probably was only a small part of the whole Zlatan-story.

To be fair Lewandowski is alot more mobile than Ibra. He's the closest thing to an Eto'o that played for his 08/09 Barca side.

I dont think Lewandowski is anything like Eto'o... Not at all. And isnt Balu the one that thinks Mandzukic is better than Lewandowski? He'll be a big success at Bayern, he'll link up with Goetze who he had a good relationship with on the pitch and one of his main assets is that he can play a passing game with deeper players coming to support him, where Bayern's attackers will thrive

No, not at all. I didn't want him at Bayern but for different reasons.

Lewandowski's hold-up play is superb and he is a strong player as well, two-footed and a good header of the ball.

He'd be immense for Bayern, playing infront of Ribéry, Götze, Müller et all.

Yep. They'll clean up for years if they manage to get him.

I think that was him.
My guess would be Blackwidow, he's usually overcritical towards Dortmund and their players, I'm not and I don't think I ever praised Mandzukic as an individual player at all, his workrate is outstanding and was a perfect fit for the team last season, that's it.

Thoughts on his performance yesterday? While making the match comp, I noticed that it was a good performance, but I didn't think he was man of the match, as some suggested in the Bundesliga thread. I don't think his mentality is right at the moment, but credit to him for some excellent work yesterday. I read that Borussia Dortmund were willing to listen to offers from foreign clubs, but why does Lewandowski want Bayern Munich, a team he will apparently link up with next season, over others clubs?

I got bored of the Lewan Comp, so i watched the Gundagon one which was available and it seemed like he was pulling the strings taking over the Gotze role? Either way, Pep won't have it all easy in the Bundesliga by the looks of things.

Nice work on the videos :)

Brilliant striker. Funny that it turns out we arent going for him after all that time linking us and now Rooney on his way out so we'd have a striker spot open

He really does suit the Dortmund team so well, he is a key component to their team IMO.

What impressed me though, is that even though he is pretty much nailed on to join Bayern, he still tried 100% and you could tell he was not holding back.

I really liked that - he wanted to leave but understands he cannot, but still performed to his best abilities. Top pro.

Funny how when it was rumoured that we were going to sign him during Euro 2012 I was kind of against the signing, thinking we were well stocked in that position and he wouldn't improve us that much (also before we signed Van Persie actually). Funny how things change in a year, he'd be great for us to have now with Rooney probably off soon.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Guardiola is allegedly not too keen - he'd prefer more space for midfielders. :smirk:

Lewandowski is thought to be aware this cooling and is said to be want to move now, and Dortmund may be receptive to the idea of foreign buyers. Real Madrid are inevitably being mentioned

One of the few players that could replace Rooney. Such a great player. His all round game is brilliant and for me the most impressive part about his game, is his hold up and the way he brings others into a move. He leads the line by himself wonderfully but I'd love to see him with Van Persie just off him.

He's already turned down City and Chelsea - the former who were willing to make him the best paid player in the league.

Would be interesting if Pep is really turning him down for free.
I'd love him here.

He wouldn't turn him down. I think Lewandowski might be a bit worried at the end of the season if Götze is played as a false 9 and Bayern is successful. But that's still a long way to go, for now I doubt there's any truth in those rumours and Dortmund won't sell him at this point anyway.

I agree, but we can't bring in Lewandowski this season if Rooney stays, can we?

I'd have thought Chelsea will sniff around if they find Rooney to be unattainable.

Our number 9 spot is available, he'd be an awesome signing

With Pep's new system and the players already at Bayern, it would not be a wise for him to join them.

Would be a great replacement for Rooney
