I dont mind Felliani. However if we sign him without bringing in a quality playmaker then I fear that our team will not resist the temptation of resorting to long ball football.
The only way that will happen is he Fellaini goes up top, which won't happen. What we need to do now is move on from a 4411 and adopt a 4231 with more creative players rather than hard working fast players on the wings.

Like Everton played under Moyes right?

If we're outclassed in CM then its only human to try to find an alternative way how to be effective. Having two 6.3ft guys upfront may give you a hint.

I'm still doubtful even Marouane "safe option" Fellaini will even come off. I hope I'm wrong. I'd have been happy with just Thiago and Fellaini at the start of summer, so long as we kept Nani and Rooney. So, Fellaini and Herrera would still be pretty good, though I don't think Herrera will happen at all. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, after the Thiago heartbreak.

Who will be the creative players though? Zaha is raw, Young and Valencia are pretty average, Welbeck plays like a striker on the flanks, Nani is good but inconsistent and Giggs is ancient. Herrera can prove to be the missing piece of the puzzle. I hope we get him.

If we are struggling in midfield and we need a goal then Felliani will go forward more often and....

Kagawa and Nani would do, and Ozil wouldve been class.

I really want Herrera too.

Valencia and Nani had been inconsistent for quite some time + we don't know if Rooney's mind is at the right place at the moment.

@ your OCD. Named Valencia as Tony in the line up, so it is all nice and even.

They will have to do. Nani has been inconsistent for quite some time and Kagawa needs to improve alot if he wants to become the player we need.

Last season we struggled with both creating and winning the ball. Felliani will sort the latter but not the former.

I'm pretty sure he went for EVANS over FERDINAND for the same reason.
Nah, Summit is right whereas you are not. I am a huge admirer of Johnny and I think Rio at this age should only be rotation material.

It would definitely help Carrick to cope with pressing and more physical sides during full season.

He would find excellent defensive support from Fellaini, not only that, Fellaini could find excellent passing and assecuration from Carrick when going forward and attacking near the box.

With Everton signing a couple of midfielder i'm sure this deal will get done but i'm afraid it will be more than the release clause.

Not very long way from Liverpool to Manchester. Club can secure this deal probably in less than 3 hours.

So far, looks like everything is going according to plan.

Agree, i guess this is the one that is most likely to be concluded, especially as Everton have bought in a replacement and not to mention the fact they want to sell him.

Aye plus Moyes knows Everton's chaiman like his family.

One phone call and they can talk even about the weather.

This one seems nailed on. Not worth it for me, and I'm never wrong with signings.

Wow, now I'm creaming over Fellaini

I can't imagine that after a wankful of Ronaldo, Thiago, Cesc, Ozil, and I'd have to settle with Fellaini

It's like going from top actress to a girl next door, even that is not a given :(

O'Rourke and Cross stating that he'll be late for training with Belgium and on his way for med.

Some progress it is and looks like it's a done deal, if true.
