Obviously I wanted him to come, but that was mostly for the sake of nostalgia and the message it would send the world. It would have been the "evidence" that Ronaldo is a true red after all, and not just another Madrid cnut. Not saying that Ronaldo is the latter, but the world will still think he is...

Speaking from an economical point of view, I can't see him being worth the money he would cost us either, given his age. I'm probably gonna be castrated for saying this, but I'd rather we signed Bale. He's 4 years younger and would have fitted into our system. His wages would also have been significantly lower.

I said this in summer and was slaughtered. Ronaldo is an amazing player but i'm glad this saga is over.

He was never going to come to united. It was the stupidest rumour people for some reason took pretty seriously over here.

And people say that we shouldn't take the internet seriously. Some here really need to take a reality check. The idea of him coming back is was about as truthful as Paul Gascoigne was when he wanted to quit alcohol.

The majority of posters on here were taking the piss mate. I suppose that anybody visiting the site and is not used to the Caf' humour would think otherwise though.

17 million net apparently. More than Messi. I think its fair to say that's what he really wanted all along.
net = after tax ?

That's more than Ribery, Robben, Müller, Mandzukic and Kroos together.

Nah, while many were taking the piss there were definitely plenty of people believing the type and thinking it was possible. You don't get so many people so attentively following this stuff just for piss taking.

Amol has been here for over 10 years and he knows who takes things seriously and those who don't. There were posters who were taking it really seriously.
Yep. I'm not sure why though. It was never on. I think it's the misconception that Ronaldo has some great love for united which I don't think he does.

A love for money more like. The esteem of being the highest paid.

Is he a money grabbing cnut yet?

Can't say I want him to succeed or anything though. Absolutely insane the amount Madrid have invested in him (fee and wages). Second best in the world or not, it's obscene..even if it is none of my business.

The moment he agreed with Blatter on the Slavery comments, for me he dishonoured the club. He got what he wanted and I hope he stays with Real Madrid forever because a cnut and a cnutish club deserve each other.

I didn't say everybody was taking the piss, but the majority were. How long he's been here is irrelevant, I'm quite aware of who is joking and who isn't myself.

Messi wouldn't do that. He's not like the big bad Ronaldo cnut to care about this shit....
Well, his net income changed a lot in the last weeks, so I guess he really needs a raise.

Messi isn't the saint you all make him out to be and neither is ronnie the devil. They both have their flaws and try to better eachother. You think messi doesn't care about Ronaldo? Lol ok and my username is imadoofus99

Never in a million years did I expect him to come back and nor do I blame him for staying at Madrid and for the wages he's on. Fair play to him.

I am disappointed. I know it was the mother of all long shots, but I thought there was a possibility. Ronaldo's still the best player that every played in the Premier and he's got better since he left. Would have been a great addition to the team.

I've never entertained the idea of him coming back, never believed it for a second. When he wanted to go to Madrid he was publically stiring things, saying he was being treated like a slave, saying it was his dream etc. making his position at United difficult. Theres been nothing like that, it was never on. Who cares, like he says that Manchester is the past, and so Ronaldo is the past for us.
