I'm sorry that you view my words as sarcastic.

Let me assure you that I meant every word genuinely and whole heartedly.

In future, I will endeavour to ensure that my tone is more apparent so as to avoid such misunderstandings as this.
(note: ok, that was a little sarcastic. but I am genuinely intending this to be read in good humour. I'm posting with a smile on my face. That must count for something. Right?)
Rowem I do agree with your points about Powell to be fair your spot on with that!

Hectic is always embarrassing and berating others. Power does that to people. Especially hectic. Because hectic is people.

At the moment I'd rank them like this:

On potential (i.e. how good I think they could be):

Januzaj-Zaha
Powell-Lingard

On current achievement:

Zaha
Powell-Lingard-Januzaj

It's almost impossible to compare coming through United's academy and playing in the U18s and U21s with playing for a lower-league first team like Powell. But obviously Zaha starring in a promotion-winning Championship team trumps both, so that explains the second list. As for the first, it's pure opinion. There's no way to argue it, and we haven't seen enough of any of them for it to be more than a hunch. I'm sure lots of people would have a completely different order, but I just thought I'd give my two pennies.

Hmm, I think people are underrating Powell. Inspite of playing as a lone forward he was still one of our best players in the hugely successful U21 season we had. I see him as having excellent potential.

Was lucky enough to chat to Jesse at one of the training sessions here in Sydney ... He mentioned the club may loan him for the year but that he is loving being apart of the 1st team so who knows ....

We've got a huge squad, if Nani stays then I can see it being hard to get a game behind him, Valencia, Young and possibly Januzaj. I personally love to see youth given a chance, so I'd be very happy if he got 10+ starts and a handful of subs for us this season in all competitions.

If he won't play that often then the right loan spell is probably the best choice, but only if he goes to a team where he'll start the majority of games, where they play the ball on the ground.

I was impressed with him, just like last pre-season he looks to be a talented player. It seems we really do have quite a few talented attacking midfielders/wingers impressing during the tour. Hopefully they can keep it up and get a few games during the season proper.

Would love for him to go to a club like Crystal Palace. Holloway is as mad as a box of frogs but he's also a better manager than people give him credit for. Plus they play some good football. Failing that we really need to find a championship side that keep the ball on the ground and don't play with traditional wingers as his long term future would appear to be in the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 type setup. Not sure of the contenders though.

Lingard made things happen when he came on in the first tour match, compared with his lacklustre team-mates...him and Zaha.

He always looks like he will create.

Very pleasing.

Holloway's Palace would be a great place if he was guaranteed to get games, the guy might be eccentric but he loves a good young player and he seems to do well nurturing them. He also tries to play football.

Scored again. Not his best run out, but evil conditions to play in. Love the lads attitude and he has good technique and skills. Be interesting to see what happens this year... whether he goes out on loan or stays. Personally I don't think he'll gain anything from another year in the U21's as it'll be a mainly new team there this year. Finding the right team for him is the trick however...

Get rid of Rooney and we'll become the right team for him....

Finally saw the goal against Kitchee, I'd say it was his best goal of the tour. I realize it's not the best defense, but he shot for accuracy and placed it perfectly. Hard to argue with scoring off the bench.

I can't help but feel that he'd still be better off starting 30 games on loan somewhere, but if he stays I'll be happy to see him on the pitch.

I think a lot of middle and bottom premier league teams might be keen to take him on loan. Might be better for him to go out rather than stay in the reserves and play the odd Carling Cup game.

The lad needs first team now so I'm definitely hoping that we can find a good club to take him for a season. Crystal Palace, Norwich, West Brom, Fulham perhaps in the premiership, or a few clubs down in the Championship. Hell I wouldn't even mind if Redknapp took him down to QPR. He is definitely not suited to another season in the U21's though.

QPR is a fecking circus! Didn't exactly work for Fabio did it! No chance would I want him to go there.

Fabio got 25 games... which is a damn sight more than he would have got at United last year irrespective of the circus nature of the club. Plus I don't expect it to be as volatile in the Championship this year. Equally Redknapp is a good coach... he'd be better than some of the alternatives.

I've seen the Fabio loan deal slated alot, which I don't understand. He got alot of games for a relatively unproven youngster who hasn't played anywhere near enough football, mostly due to Evra. Fabio would never have gotten 20+ games here. He also looked like QPR's best player in alot of games. He toughened up a bit and really got stuck in. I thought it was a great loan move for him.

How can you say the fabio deal didn't work? From what I've been able to tell Fabio has said it has helped both him and Rafael with their development. Sure he may not have been able to showcase his attacking talent to much while playing there, but that wasn't why we sent him there. He was part of a team that was constantly defending and doing that week in week out would have easily helped him on that side of his game more than playing the odd game for us or the reserves where we generally are not on the back foot for long periods of time.

I'd rather see Lingard go to the championship than premier league. Our strikers don't seem to get much game time in a lot of EPL loans.
He already did, didn't work out. That league's not a great match for his style and size but I suppose he's 9 months older, stronger and better now, so you never know.

Playing under a manager like Martinez or Landraup would be perfect for him.

It helped Rafael because he wasn't at his brother's side day in day out? That might have helped him with general independence/life skills but will not have improved Rafael as a footballer.

Maybe i'm just a bit cynical, it may have given Fabio some much needed first team experience, particularly with them defending more than most. I just don't see QPR as a nurturing club, and hope that Fabio didn't pick up any bad habits there that's all.

True, but then football is just as much a mental game as a physical one that the highest level.

Always a risk with any loan really, but i feel the loan would have helped him regardless of how much of a circus it is there. Plus he is now back at united, so we can quickly squash out any bad habits that he may have picked up.

Lingard and the likes of Zaha, Januzaj, Powell, Henriquez are all excellent young players. No worries where they all end up (staying or on loan), although I'd prefer Lingard to stay.

Lingard has had an excellent pre-season, having watched him a number of times for the reserves I have been surprised at how well he has done.
He always looked like he would have a decent future in the game but I was never sure that that would be at Manchester United.
It would be great if Lingard and a couple more youngsters could make the step up but in truth there is a huge difference playing against average teams pre-season and performing in a very competitive Premiership.

I don't think he will prove anything at Birmingham, especially in one month loan.

Looks like Moyes might have some use for him later in the season as only one month loan. Will show what he is made of.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
I'd imagine that one month will be extended if he's playing well, it's probably only a short term loan initially to see how he settles. He's better playing Championship football than U21 football, he's too good for that level now and will be getting very little from it.
