There is a poster on Red Issue called partytown, who has a good track record with team news(I think he works at Carrington), and he said that Rooney, Van Persie and Vidic haven't travelled.
Looking at the pictures in the article Gerald linked to, it looks about right. Good to see Jones has travelled. Bit of a pain for deciding what to put in the lineups game though. Was fairly straightforward if he wasn't available.

What wingers are likely to play for United tomorrow? Be interesting to see if Moyes picks defensive ones to track Hazard and Willian.

Our only options are januzaj, Kagawa, Valencia and welbeck, but welbeck will play up top and Kagawa probably as a 10, so I don't think there will be any big surprises with wings.

Probably Januzaj and Valencia though I wouldn't be surprised if Giggs ended up starting.

Before the news about Jones traveling and Vidic not came out, the team pretty much picked itself.

de Gea, Rafael, Evans/Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Fletcher, Valencia, Kagawa, Januzaj, Welbeck.

@bosnian_red - Young traveled with the squad but I can't see him starting.

I could see Januzaj and Evra struggling against Willian if that's the case. He's been very good the past few games. With Hazard's form as well, we should be looking to exploit the wings as much as possible.

Yeah, that's definitely an area that can be exploited. I've not seen Willian for Chelsea but on the whole Evra has been pretty poor.

Willian can be deadly on counters, specially as Mourinho prefers to sit deep in big games. With Evra going on his usual forward runs, I'm quite worried about Willian running into that space.

I've just seen Mourinho's record against the top six. He's never lost to any of them more than once. In 43 games. Arsenal have the best record against him, having only lost twice.

Get your tactics right, Moyesy...

Most records and such stats prove very little but I think Joes's record against the top sides is key to how he manages his players in big games. This is a real ask for Moyes to counter Mourinho's Chelsea but it would certainly be a feather in his cap should he pull it off tomorrow.I don't think Joes will underestimate United, but i am hoping his players do!

Can't sleep for thinking about this game! I've tried counting sheep but they're all wearing Leeds United shirts!

...and United under Moyes seem to be better away from home.

As I said earlier in the thread, in this crazy mad season....

Question, if Welbeck is the only recognised forward on the pitch would he be the designated penalty taker were we to be awarded one?

Thinking over our squad it is arguable that he wouldn't even fall into the top five candidates in a shoot-out, but then he doesn't have much experience taking them for United either i suppose.

RVP has travelled with the squad? That's against every media report out before the game.

Today is a game I'd be happy for Welbeck to start. His pace and technique could be very useful against Terry and Cahill.

Would also be happy with United playing 4-3-3 and playing Carrick, Jones and Fletcher tomorrow with two of Kagawa, Valencia or Januzaj being the wingers. Without Rooney I really want players with the attitude and character of Jones and Fletcher in the side. We need fearless players today.

I think Carrick would be first out of those available, and then I'd give them to januzaj. He seems the most composed out of everyone else. Did he take them for the reserves when he was there of was it Wilson? Regardless, I think he'd be good at them.

If we want the title we gotta win this.. But I'd start with caution and build from there, also the wingers at all time have to come down and help Carrick and Fletcher/Cleverley onto the top of our box.

Rafael to score and us to win 1-2..

8:50am and I'm already a little nervous.

I would be happy to play a 4-5-1 with carrick, fletcher and jones in the centre of midfield. I know that is very defensively minded but i think it is needed today.

I'd go with Welbeck down the left and Valencia right with Rooney through the middle to start with.

I think you'll come at us to start with. If we don't concede in the first 20 mins I predict a comfortable victory. If we do concede early anything can happen. Jose's home league record will go at some point,

I just think if we go for a defensive 3 with carrick and two off clev/jones/fletch we're just asking for trouble, there's no real ability there to launch a counter, I think we'd just end up getting really deep with no way out. We'd really need two wingers on top form to do that and we've not shown enough defensive strength to show we could play like that.

Also wouldn't want to see jones/young rushed in, we'll need players sharp. Giggs should be on the bench for this one. Not played well enough at all to just come in for this one.

Is Rio confirmed out for this one? If not, bit dodgy tweeting "Come on the boys ! Give me something to shout about tomorrow !"...

I think spot on. We'll have a real go, won't score and then you will get one, probably slightly against the run of play, then your tails will be up and you could, potentially, embarrass us!!

Rooney isn't going to be in the squad.

You really think this current United team specially without Rooney and RVP will be the one to do that? Leaving the second half of last game aside we haven't even looked like scoring at home against puny opposition.

You are the Champions and can beat anyone. A couple of players missing does not change that (Hernandez always seems to score against us anyway).

Life of a United fan in Sydney. Having to go to bed now, to get up at 1am to get a bus into the City for a 2.45am match to go and watch the lads most likely, how do I put this nicely? Not win?

Going to be a long night. C'mon United!

BBC Sport are saying Rafael is suspended, surely they meant Fabio?
