The new Real Estate album is decent by the sound of the first couple of songs.

Benji by Sun Kil Moon has gotten a 9 rating by theneedledrops. Will be giving that a listen this weekend.
This is a good album.

His songs are a bit too wordy with him describing stuff to almost unnecessary detail but all in all, I'm enjoying it (haven't heard the last few songs properly).

Been listening to this recently, it's great. Love BBC.
It's so different (again) to their previous albums but I really like it, think it could be my favourite album of theirs.

Manchester Orchestra fans, new album out on 1st April. First single

Just seen Edguy have a new album coming out this year  Looking forward to it, hopefully it's not disappointing like what I've heard so far of Lacuna Coils new album.

This lot's debut album might knock you off your feet once it's released.

Hasn't been a great year musically, I don't think. Just attempting to catch up on some music I may have missed.

Of the music I've heard this year, the following are recordings I'd highly recommend:

Isaiah Rashad - Cilvia Demo
Girl Talk & Freeway - Broken Ankles
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata
BADBADNOTGOOD - III

The following are okay too:

Young Fathers - Dead
ScHoolboy Q - Oxymoron
Duck Sauce - Quack

I've been pretty underwhelmed. No stellar electronic releases, hip-hop has been okay. Nothing has tickled my fancy rock wise.

So far I don't think it has been as good a year as 2013.

As of this moment my favourites have been the albums by Beck, Wild Beasts, St Vincent, Future Islands and The War On Drugs.

I've liked the stuff by Warpaint, Broken Bells and Bombay Bicycle Club too, though not to the same extent. The Pixies' album was the biggest disappointment so far, very poor.

I've just downloaded the new Damon Albarn and Lykke Li albums, hopefully they're good. I'll get around to the stuff by Cloud Nothings, Eels, Jimi Goodwin and Metronomy at some point too.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what else is out that I might like.

Looking forward to new Black Keys album--Turn Blue, comes out May 13. Listened to "Fever" and title track "Turn Blue" which has a trippy, psychedelic vibe going on. Sounds nothing like El Camino.

Lots of goodies this year from different genres, including few truly beautiful by CunninLynguists.

I'm with you on Wild Beasts, St. Vincent and Future Islands. I've only been through The War On Drugs' release once so far. Same for Bombay Bicycle Club. And I have to say I'm not that convinced regarding Warpaint yet, but I need to listen a few times more.
Albarn's new album has a couple of pretty good songs. But again I've only listened twice yesterday.

I Break Horses, Real Estate (who I've mentioned in this thread), MØ and Todd Terje are all decent. I still have Mac DeMarco and a couple of others to go through.

Aerosmith are headlining Download this year, so I am hoping this will be followed up by a UK tour, I need to se them before I, or probably they, die.
They are touring the US with Slash at some point. I really hope they come to the UK with it.

Next month is going to be something else. The Black Keys (already leaked), Coldplay (yeah, I do enjoy them to an extent even these days), Kasabian, Jack White. Bring it.

Yeah I've heard it a couple of times. It's great.
They just cancelled their concert in Copenhagen though...
Any reason why? I still think Days is their best album but thats not taking anything from Atlas

They said something about "family reasons" on their Facebook page, so it can be anything I guess.
I don't think I've listened enough to those two albums yet to be able to give a proper opinion on which is better. I just really enjoy listening to both :)

Anyone heard Jacko's new single - Love Never Felt So Good? His final demoes for new songs have finally been mastered and released. It is absolutely brilliant, even in death he nobs all over chart music today

Been listening to Atlas and Days a lot over the last few weeks, gorgeous sunny day music.
Yeah it really is. You just want to bring out the hammock and slack around in the sun all day. Man, I wish I could just get this exam over with and get out into the sun. Oh well, two more days.

Anyone listened to The Men's "Tomorrow's Hits"? I'm doing it right now and there's definitely some good stuff on it, even though it's pretty much classic rock, rock'n'roll, maybe a bit of country, or whatever you want to call it.

Any Bright Eyes fans should check out Conor Oberst's new album, Upside Down Mountain. I think it's great, one of his best works, and currently averaging 75 on metacritic.
