130+How far away from Charlton's record is he?
130+How far away from Charlton's record is he?
Hmmm That would take him about 3-4 seasons, you'd have to land him this summer to have a chance at that.130+
60 more from him this season for Raul's record, comes back in the summer and Charlton's record by next WC.Hmmm That would take him about 3-4 seasons, you'd have to land him this summer to have a chance at that.
I guess he'll be our all time top scorer alone then.
I know he's good, but...60 more from him this season for Raul's record, comes back in the summer and Charlton's record by next WC.
The way he's started and the team he has behind him, it really isn't that unrealistic. The man is a machine.I know he's good, but...
He's already on 12 after 8 games, and you lot have lots of games this season. Those few in the WCC should yield quite a few if he takes it seriously.I know he's good, but...
He's already scored 60 goals in a season before though and he's much much better now!I know he's good, but...
Too far for anyone with a bit of sense to even entertain the idea... That record belongs to Rooney. How far away from Charlton's record is he?
Jesus, this was probably his plan all alongRealistically (but not really), if he keeps it up, he'll be Real Madrid's all-time top scorer some time near the middle of next season, at the age of 30 or 31. If he transfers to United the summer after that, could he realistically score the 132 goals he needs to overtake Charlton? That'd be roughly 30-40 goals a season until he hits retirement age.
He could actually do it if he really went for it. Imagine being all-time top scorer at both Real Madrid and Manchester United. Surely the most incredible individual achievement in club football history?
Madrid, Barca and Bayern are always the top scorer's or among them (over the last 5 or six seasons) in the CL and Ronaldo and Messi have both being winning the CL top scorer award since 2008.One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
If "they're" as reliable as my apostrophe's, then they're extremely reliable. They are as reliable as your use of apostrophes. Sorry, apostrophe's.
Sensible comments are not welcome in this thread.
Two of them should come to the BPL and battle it out for top scorer again, both of them at United though. One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
Nothing personal man. My job is an editor and am irked by the proliferation of apostrophes on plurals. Anything that deflects from our defence I guessIf "they're" as reliable as my apostrophe's, then they're extremely reliable.
Yeah, just look at that Diego Costa. One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
Spacejammed I have to use that sometime!Yeah, just look at that Diego Costa.
Some players like Ronaldo and pre-Spacejammed Torres are just perfectly physically equipped for the Premier League anyway
No problem mate.Nothing personal man. My job is an editor and am irked by the proliferation of apostrophes on plurals. Anything that deflects from our defence I guess
When did I say it haswell. scoring the 4th goal in a 4 to 1 win, at the 120 minute, has no impact,
deal with it
Costa may disagreeOne more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
It wont matter if he scores 55 in England. He would probably knock in a paltry 40 or so, which would be enough to propel us to being instant league and CL contenders. That alone would be worth his fee.One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. Because we'd rather have WelbeckScores 263 goals in 254 games. Still, some United fans wouldn't want him back.
Yeah exactly, f*ck Welbeck!Because we'd rather have Welbeck
So we were 3-1 up against Leicester, and they came back 5-3. If we score 2 more, maybe it would have deflated Leicester and put the game to bed, or maybe the game may have ended 5-5, which meant we salvaged a point or maybe we ended 5-6....When did I say it has
You are acting too defensive here
Messi is past it physically wise and never is going to be the best player again. Deal with it.well. scoring the 4th goal in a 4 to 1 win, at the 120 minute, has no impact,
deal with it
I wouldnt say any goals scored during 90 mins would have no impact to the game either, except of course last min injury time goals scored in a 4-0 win or in similar fashion. But we don't have to be that extreme, and I wouldn't classify goals scored into impact goals and no impact goals either, this is just plain stupidity for someone here to suggest so.So we were 3-1 up against Leicester, and they came back 5-3. The point is you can never say a goal has no impact just because it is the 4th in a 4-1 victory because it always matters in the match at that point. It has a mental and psychological effect, it helps the team's overall Goals For stats and it increases the fear factor.
This no-impact bollocks is certainly just hindsight and cherry-picking of stats to suit an agenda.
Let's compare the record of the top 3 Premier League scorer of the last 5 seasons who also played in the CL with their CL record around that time (let's say the 3 seasons around the mentioned Premier League season). That should give us an idea if it's really more difficult to score in the Premier League, after all Messi and Ronaldo keep up their scoring rate in continental games. One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
Funny, cause Mr Past It has been the best player in La Liga already this season, bar the tumescent display Wednesday night... unless you go by the Muppet mentality that scoring lots of goals makes you the best.Messi is past it physically wise and never is going to be the best player again. Deal with it.
It's unbelievable. Not sure how anyone can have watched Messi this season and conclude that he's past itFunny, cause Mr Past It has been the best player in La Liga already this season, bar the tumescent display Wednesday night... unless you go by the Muppet mentality that scoring lots of goals makes you the best.
He hasn't been as prolific as Ronaldo goal scoring wise so the average fan will assume he's past it. I agree he's been in great form lately, even without the goals his contribution has been way above average. It's unbelievable. Not sure how anyone can have watched Messi this season and conclude that he's past it
Are you sure? One more point - Ronaldo wouldn't be scoring as many goals in the Prem as he does in LL. No disrespect to LL but the PL is fair more competitive with way more aggressive defences.
He's been amazing so far.Messi is past it physically wise and never is going to be the best player again. Deal with it.
This is probably the closest to what would happen regarding his scoring, and of course it's still very, very impressive, but until one of them turns up in the PL or BL and has as ridiculous a goals to games ratio as Ronaldo, Messi, Falcao have had in LL then I'll continue to doubt the competitiveness in LL.It wont matter if he scores 55 in England. He would probably knock in a paltry 40 or so, which would be enough to propel us to being instant league and CL contenders. That alone would be worth his fee.
