We have a poor record against them in recent meetings, hopefully we put an end to it today. I've been putting up with all sorts of abuse from my Everton supporting mate last season.

This game is fecking earlier. Who is the genius that put it at this time. Nevertheless, hopefully it will be a good decision to put valancia on the right side of our diamond. Centrally, he is limited, so hopefully he can make that negative aspect up with the amount of industry he has.

First chance of the game goes to United.

Good run by Shaw down the left and his cross finds Falcao who's header is well saved by Howard.

I'm probably the biggest Valencia critic on here but I'd play him instead of Herrera today over Fletcher. He's got a better engine than Fletch and will do more defensive work, especially helping Rafael on that flank which will be key with Baines there. He also has a good partnership with Rafael going forward and with Rafael there we won't be begging for Valencia to do something attacking, Rafael will be there doing that as well as he ever does.

    DDG
    Rafael - McNair - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Valencia Di Maria
    Mata
    Van Persie - Falcao

Looking at this team now, I can see one potential problem here.

With Baines, Pienaar and Lukaku all looking to attack that side, it's going to draw Valencia very wide and potentially very deep which in turn means Mata will have to drop back into midfield and a midfield of Mata/Blind isn't the most robust. We'll be very much looking to keep the ball going down that left side all game.

Good cross, should have done a bit better with the chance I thought

    Almost from Falcao!

Unlucky Faclao. Hibbert isn't fast enough to deal with ADM or Shaw.

Valencia seems to get stuck in a lot more these days, turned into a foul machine

Quite looking forward to seeing Valencia in this role. I think he may surprise a few.
Could be a good fit, due to his work rate, athleticism and discipline.
