We cant spend like this forever though, the £100m we spend on Bale could be used to better the squad overall, I mean for £100m you could possibly sign Pogba (50m), Depay (20m) and Hummels (30m) it's ridiculous.
It said that we could afford our other targets, so you could sign the targets you listed and then sign Bale. And the bigger we become as a brand the more we'll be able to spend.

It really baffles me with some of you lot, you speak as if your personally paying for some of these players and crying if we spend 100m on Bale, as mental as that is he is a fantastic player that could be that difference in winning us the league next season, also don't you think Woody and everyone else that handles the finance side know how much we can spend ? Were hardly going to spunk 100m on a player and have 10 quid left are we, I really don't care how much we spend on players just as long as we get them, also all these figures mentioned are merely made up figures by the likes of DMail and The Sun, how about you let Woody and Co worry about the price and for us to enjoy the new signing's we acquire who I'm sure will make us a lot stronger.
You know, there's the small fact that he isn't really that good, and for that amount you could actually improve the whole squad in 3 positions with genuine quality. Setting a precedent of overpaying for targets is never good. For the club or the player themselves.

Its not that we dont have money to spend. Its about spending it wisely. We can strengthen 3-4 different areas in our side rather than just one.
Depay - 25m
Hummels - 30m
Gundogan - 22m
Clyne - 20m (even though I dont want him)

Thats close to 100m. Spend it like that and strengthen different areas than just one area and hope he will become our savior.
What he said apart from Clyne, even I don't want him.

But your not understanding my point, were hardly going to throw all our chips on a winger and not sign those other players mentioned or others in that position, also your guessing those prices as well from rumoured articles.

I think the one reason I desperately want Bale is that we have no one in our team who can produce something special out of nothing, after Ronaldo left only in RVP's first season I felt that we had a player all our opponents genuinely feared. I watch Hazard & Sanchez and their teams can be playing incredibly bad and yet they provide the spark. Sadly Di Maria has not had that impact for us

Dont care how much we pay for Bale. I dont see why anyone else would. Its not 2005-06. We negotiated those sponsorship deals with some of the words leading brands to get us in a position where Man City and Real Madrids spending would pale in comparison compared to ours. If we got Bale along with a few other proper quality signings, I could see us pissing through teams next year.

I'm biased towards Bale because to me he is a United player. He's everything a United player was designed to be. When you think of United players, you think of wingers tearing through full backs. Or at least I do. That's the type of player I want at United. He's still so young and has lost none of his talent. I'd sell my Cat's two left paws for him to be here next season.

Real Madrid is all about spin as well. If we put in a huge amount, they can spin it like a great deal without losing face that their biggest signing has left. And hopefully they use that money to snatch Hazard from the rent boys.

@Summit @DWelbz19 Sorry what I meant to say was...that article sounds like bs because surely madrid would be happy with getting enough money to break even on the bale transfer and surely they wouldn't reject 100m euro (£73m) for a under performing player who isn't even liked by the fans. The number Ogden has picked just seems like a random guess he has made to make a good headline.

We are top 3 in the world in terms of revenue, possibly even no.1 now after our recent deals but even we are not beyond FFP. If we spend too much now, it could hit us in future transfer windows when we may really need to spend. Thats why its best to spread that money around and get 4, 5 or 6 top class players for 150mil or so.

DiMaria can do it, as he showed in his first few games. He stopped doing it though after those early games.

50 million is the max I'd pay for him at this stage.

I can't beleive how much Bale is being undervalued here, yeah clearly he isn't worth £100mil but come on, he's still a fecking amazing player and he would improve any team in the world. Suppose he isn't the flavour of the week right now...

If his name was a bit more foreign sounding, such as Gündobale then he would be rated much higher I reckon.

That's not true. He plays regularly for Fluminense's first team. He's one of the supporters favorite players behind Fred and Cavallieri.

But yeah, the price tag is unjustified.
Ah, I apologise in this case. Was left under the impression that he hasn't broken through yet.

Why are so many against Clyne joining?

Is it due to wanting Rafael to get a chance (better player?), or want someone different. Tbh he's proven in the Prem, still young so should improve and plays for a side which plays an impressive tactical game so he's got the know-how of your typical energetic full back, and a pragmatic style too.

Probably want Caf favourite and not very good right back Seamus Coleman.

I honestly think Depay could be as good as Bale, not to mention a quarter of the price!

Think those article are merely pointing out we have that much money to spend should we need to. I don't see us bidding that much for Bale.

No real new names but just to get this back on topic with tweets, also these names are starting to be mentioned quite heavily by a lot of "Reliable" journos
now Im just trying to think from last window who we did sign from all the names mentioned and I can only think of Shaw and Herrera so I guess i wont
get my hopes up on any of them yet.

Totally agree. He is built for English football and is still only 25. Stupidly talented player and when he went for a world record fee to Real it was justified. Still the same player but circumstances haven't been as straightforward as last year. People who talk about this season like it has done irreparable damage to Bale's game are wrong IMO.

The Handanovic one is interesting, he's supposed to be the best young keeper around, anyone who's watched him a bit would he be a good replacement for de Gea?

EDIT: Is Di Marzio still considered reliable too?

He's 30, isn't he? From what I've seen he's good but a big step down from DDG.
