I'm just regurgitating what one of the Dortmund lads said on here. You'd hope they know what they are talking about !5th, Gladbach dominated the league in the 2nd half, Wolfsburg, Bayern and Leverkusen followed with good records. Dortmund did well to recover, but still nowhere near as great as in previous seasons.
And the last part of his post tells me that he doesn't really believe what he's saying.

Klopp has a way with words and is a charasmatic guy. He seems humble. Lets just hoping he doesn't bring them any success.

This thread is full of comments on Klopp calling himself 'The Normal one'. And that pic is obviously PS'd - there is no way that merchandise could be in the club shop less than 24 hrs after he made the comment
The word embarrassing gets thrown around a lot on the caf by posters frequently embarrassed by seemingly anything United do or not do but never has the word been more apt on the forum as it is for this thread.

Cast your minds back. To another continenetal manager who arrived fresh from success and praise and laden with trophies he had won at a medium-to large sized club against the odds. Remember how he was lauded as smooth and cool and sure to succeed and take this fallen giant back to the very top of the English game for years to come. And remember how the press fell in love with him almost immediately and everyone jumped on the bandwagon assuming and even hoping that this manager at this fallen great club was going to reorder the table at the summit of the Premier league. And remember how badly he failed. Then please tell me who he is because I'm hoping that happened once before.

Brilliant! Basically it says that Dortmund could have / should have found themselves a much better manager than this quy. That Klopp is probably only talk but no substance.

That's hilarious, especially the claim that he's a populist. He who didn't care at all for Dortmund's fans' favorite players at that time and sold them more quickly than we could moan about it!
That's a bit harsh. It's mainly Immobile who stands out as an expensive flop and a few of his signings who failed to perform in his last season at Dortmund but look excellent now.
For the 14/15 season: Immobile, Kampl, Ramos, Ginter, Kagawa, Sahin
Immobile was a flop, Kampl was sold on after 6months with a 1m loss, not that big of deal. Ramos is a decent back-up striker, Ginter & Kagawa look great signings at the moment and signing Sahin on the cheap after he looked excellent during the loan from Real is still a good deal.
For 13/14: Mhkitaryan, Aubameyang, Sokratis and Jojic
The first 3 look fantastic right now and are key players. Jojic was bought for 2m and sold for 3m.
For 12/13: Reus, Schieber, Bittencourt
Schieber was underwhelming, no doubt. But he was cheap. Bittencourt went for about the same money he cost. And Reus was of course a brilliant signing for 17m Euro.
Going further back, it gets better and better. It all looked rather underwhelming last season, when the whole team sucked. Mhkitaryan looked like an expensive flop, Ginter was useless, Kampl a waste of space and Immobile a disaster. But right now, is it really that bad? Immobile was that one big mistake, but the whole team right now is full of his signings. Mhkitaryan, Aubameyang, Sokratis, Ginter, Kagawa and Sahin are 6 players you could call regular starters if fit and all were signed in Klopp's last two seasons.
Gotta give credit to the bin dippers, they've really got a manager who is perfect for them. A proven winner who works well on a budget and with a great eye for talent. I think his CL final starting XI cost some where between £30-35 million.

As soon as you guys are ready to pay £200 k per week all the other top clubs will be be paying £300 k, until you are getting CL season in season out then you'll be forever playing catch up on wages.
