Isnt Schweinsteiger injured or is that still unconfirmed if out for this too?

    If so i'd go for

    ----------------De Gea
    --Darmian Smalling Jones Blind
    -------Schneiderlin Fellaini
    ----------------Herrera
    ----Mata-----------------Young
    --------------Martial

I never hated Internationals as much when I was younger.. Perhaps International football has got worse, but my interest in it has all but died..

People may not have been impressed with us, but I can't believe anybody who has seen the Everton games this season would consider this anything but United as favourites. Everton will huff and puff, counter with the big man up front, but are not on the same level as Arsenal or Southampton, even when you consider this a local game.

I think it will be more like the Swansea game, however, I would argue that our back 4 will ensure that they do not make the same mistakes and we have DDG in goal. Think Barkley has become slippy G 2, always trying to be the hero when there are better options, Barry is all effort and no brain and the back 4 doesn't look too solid.
What? We beat Southampton 3-0 away from home completely out playing them. The only really bad performance we have put in was the 1st game against Watford and we have a good points total considering who we have played.

Barry all effort no brain? He only gets by on his brain because he is the slowest thing on earth. It's like saying the same thing about Carrick.

You have not watched us once this season have you?

Everton will be up for it, like always. If we dont start determined and aggressive, this will be painful again.

One of the few games a season where i would take a draw. It's going to be very difficult Sunday, and Lukaku is in good form which worries me somewhat.

    The replies

LOL. I think Hodgson saw Rooney play against Arsenal, after which he informed Rooney that he was going to be injured for the upcoming England matches.
Sadly, LVG doesn't do the same and keeps playing him.

My friend, our away form is average. Even you cant disguise this fact.
Realistically, when playing away from home, a draw is as good as we can expect. Anything more is a bonus. Against an aggressive/determined team, at their ground - we are toast.
Weirdly, our home form is the best in the league.
He's an everton fan, talking about how everton have played.

Seen you every game, the luxury of multi-channel USA TV which lets you record. If you feel like you have only had one bad game, then we have different views of your performance. Not surprising one is a fan, the other a neutral. Just like non-United fans scream we are shite, and we think we are improving slowly. Even against Liverpool, I know it was a derby, but I wouldn't say that was a good performance from Everton. At times it was very ineffective and loads of misplaced passing.

Barry has been caught out loads of times in most games, which suggests he is not using his brain. Positionally not what we have seen over the years. Also, like many older players makes a lot of fouls. Carrick is more brain than effort as his legs have gone. We clearly saw that against Arsenal, but usually his positional play is very good, so more brain.

You were awful against Liverpool, so no doubt you'll be on fire against us. Our record against you is dreadful these last few seasons. Already psychologically accepting a loss so I get the satisfaction of sulking for a week before the game as well as during and after.

I'd like to see Herrera Schneiderlin and Rojo starting, however I can see Herrera and Rojo being eased back in gradually.

With Klopp installed at Liverpool, our recent 3-0 loss to the Arse, LVG and the team are really is under pressure to deliver this weekend. However...it's Everton away...same old story probably. Still, at least we get it out of the way early in the season.

Can't see Herrera. It will probably be Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin.

Away at Everton, the way they always take the game to us there, I wouldn't be against Herrera and Schneiderlin starting.

As said though, no way it's happening.

Ive been hoping for Blind to be put back at LB for a while now (since Shaw was injured in fact) and am more convinced this is the way to go than ever. Bring Jones or Rojo in at CB, not particularly bothered which. Schmidfield + Herrera as a 3, Martial up top, Rooney left, Mata right.

We need Ander back in the team, he offers so much more than our other midfield players. If LVG is not going to drop Rooney I think we should go with this:
    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Jones Blind
    Herrera Schneiderlin
    Mata Rooney Memphis
    Martial

    -----------------------De Gea----------------

    --Darmian-Smalling----Blind------Rojo---

    ------------------Schneiderlin-------------

    ----------Herrera---------Fellaini-------

    --Depay----------Martial----------Mata-

    De Gea
    Darmian--Smalling--Jones--Blind
    Schneiderlin
    Herrera--Schweinsteiger
    Mata--Martial--Memphis/Young

subs: Romero, Rojo, Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Memphis, Rooney

    -----------------------De Gea----------------

    --Darmian-Smalling----Blind------Rojo---

    ------------------Schneiderlin-------------

    ----------Herrera---------Fellaini-------

    --Depay----------Martial----------Mata-

You serious? Bastian and Rooney are a must. Depay needs rested but I wouldn't mind Fellaini starting at the expense of Herrera.

Rooney is a must? The same Rooney who let's the the Goodison crowd get to him every time? That is why Ronaldo is world class, he makes it motivate him. Rooney just disappears.

What? First weekend I'm not working so could watch it and it's not even on. Bollox.

Tbh though, I think most of us will be watching this one through our fingers anyway. Not really looking forward to it myself, especially after the Arsenal result. These bastards are always up for it at Goodison.

Personally I think we need goal threats and Martial and Mata are nailed on so its between Depay and Rooney and for me Rooney is a must. If we had better then ok then but we clearly haven't.

So its not even acknowledgement that Van Gaal always will play Rooney, but you actually want to see him in the team?

I had heard whispers that such people lurked among us. I thought it was a hoax.

Id be happy with Rooney and Memphis fighting it out for that left wing spot for a few games now, see if either of them respond to the challenge.

When was Rooney last actually a goal threat?

    de Gea

    Darmian
    Smalling
    Jones
    Blind

    Schneiderlin
    Schweinsteiger

    Mata
    Herrera
    Martial

    Rooney

To me, that is a tasty-looking team. Martial in wider areas will leave much more room for Herrera and Rooney to exploit to our benefit.

Don't think we can carry Depay in this game. I would drop him to the sidelines and bring on Young. Think we need a bit of physicality to start, then we can bring on the craft later in the game. I would go with

    DDG
    Darmian Smalling Rojo Blind
    Herrera Schneiderlin
    Valencia Mata Young
    Martial

Might even be tempted to go 4-3-3 and drop Valencia aside Herrera and Schneiderlin.

Is this the first time this season we are seeing people's predictions being 50/50 ?

Time to break up the centre half partnership this weekend (and this is nothing to do with Blind). No more wingers at full back, please.

Jones to come in alongside Smalling with Blind moving to left back sets us up in a position to defend and keep a clean sheet.

I'd sit Memphis down for a weekend and look towards shifting Martial out wide to change things up a little. That therefore allows us to bring in an extra midfield body, which we'll need against a good Everton outfit.
