Watched two episodes back to back yesterday. .. don't get how anyone can dislike them or find them pretentious, it was such a good watch and a great insight into some of our favourite United players. Gary and Scholes make me laugh. . They're so blunt.

How far can they realistically go up the football pyramid ? Ground looks a bit ramshackle and away from the playing side I guess there's mountains to do and spend.
The likes of Fleetwood though have shown how it can be done from humble beginnings and Salford, right now, are riding the crest of a wave with this cup run and the Class of 92 TV exposure.
Good luck to them but County were woeful and one of the top L2 sides, I think, would batter Salford. They look bright going forward but that defence looks get-attable !

I think with the backing they have got and if they take their time and don't rush it, they will get to the Football League Two without doubt. They are doing it the right way, involving all the people who made the club in the first place.
Indeed, Fl££twood have shown that if they owners are willing to back them and be brutal regardimg management and players, then they'll be able to get to League 1 comfortably. The "humble beginnings" thing is true with FTFC in fairness, before Pilleys money came in they were a nothing club with no fan base, terrible stadium and no prospects - however his insistence on his sides signing the best players in each league on the best money in each league worked well as well as remaining patient by establishing themselves in a league before really gunning for promotion, and they benefited from Blackpools issues with Oysten to boost their fan base originally. Salford won't have any fan base issues if they continue to be successful simply because of the profile the club will get as they progress. As for the ground, you just improve it one side/end at a time over 4/5 years, it's doable.

The class of 92 thing should be turned into a series of documentaries - a different club each programme. People love this stuff and it would bolster interest no end.

100% this. Obviously the class of 92 brought in most of the viewers but I enjoyed getting to see the players and managers in their day to day lives just as much.

I thing G Neville is a gob, Pip and Nicky never should have played for the club, and Scholes is now overated.

Giggs lived there from the age of 6, Butty was born and raised under 2 miles away and the Nevilles and Scholes less than 10 miles. Scholes is still underrated by most people despite the likes of Zidane, Cantona, Keane and Inzaghi claiming he was the most talented player they ever saw. Butty and Phil gave great service to United despite never being first names on the team sheet with 387 and 386 games respectively, puts them 34th and 35th in the list of players by appearance for United at a time when the club was at the peak of its success so hardly mugs who should never have played for us.
Is there some club more central to all of them in Middleton or Cheetham Hill they should have bought into instead? or are you just here on a WUM.

So ignore them. They were a bunch of homegrown players who came to fruition in our most successful period ever, to most of us it was a dream to see a second team to rival the Busby babes and we're still proud of what they achieved for the club and each other.
This documentary was a nice little demo of how close their friendships still are and a look into the grass roots level of football rather than the champagne primadonna lifestyle we're generally exposed to and was all the more interesting for it. That they chose to show the team's FA Cup tie with Notts County straight after and that a team of non-leaguers battered a team 3 leagues higher than them and scored a stunning goal and pulled off a fantastic goal-line clearance whilst doing so shows that there is still a little magic left in the game despite how jaded many of us have become with the top level circus. The second half of that match last night was more entertaining and more emotional than anything I've seen United do in the last 3 years.

It's not the prerogative of footballers to build homeless shelters BTW. Plenty of businesses in the area could do that. Fact is they've lifted the spirits of people in the area by supporting a local sports club....well lifted the spirits of all bar bellends like you who only serve to wallow in bitterness. People here are very eager to slate players like Keane but when I say there's a conflict of interest when the C92 gang up on Van Gaal, knowing full well Giggs is in the frame for the job I get called up on it? I don't like the Salford City project, I don't like that they built a hotel right across the road from Old Trafford despite the clubs issue that it might interfere with stadium expansion, I don't like how that documentary wrote off other valuable players at the time and rewrote history "Giggs was lucky he played in front of Phil, like Beckham was lucky to play in front of Gary" a line which totally discredited Irwin.

The only thing I worry about the Salford project is that the club becomes just another big club. That said they've got exciting times ahead. Let's hope they don't don' forget the community.

brilliant documentary but I just wonder how much money they threw at players to go from midtable to top of the table when they took over.
I don't understand why the narrator kept saying they had to win every game for a chance to win the league. "Have to win nine in a row", "have to win all seven games for a chance to win the league". It's quite possible Darlington wouldn't have won all their games anyway.
