The problem is we all hate the football under LVG, even when we win the football is poor but he gets by on results.
As soon as he starts losing the results the tide turns quickly as there isn't any other redeeming feature.
The other point is he is only here for three years anyway, so if he isn't moving the club forward quickly there isn't much point in him staying.
In his tenure so far I don't really think we've improved. He has spent 250mil and created a team that is barely, if at all better than what he inherited.
Whilst I'd agree that in terms of playing style United are not demonstrating that which the fans crave, everyone was crowing until recently on the improvement in defence - and isn't that the basis of all good teams ? Mourinho's teams for example have always used that as the foundation for their success. Hasn't the downturn in the defence been predicated by your injury record ?
With regard to the attack then there are obvious mistakes such as selling Di Maria (though I'm not sure there was much option there) and Hernandez when you hadn't secured the players you were after. Hence the last minute panic buy of Martial, who you'd been watching for a while but were probably not going to move for for another season or two. I'm not sure whether that error can be laid squarely on LvGs shoulders without at least a large part also going to Woodward.
Fact is choice is limited at the moment anyway. Mourinho (who has always been despised, though respected, at OT) and Giggs who one can say is clearly not ready to take over one of the most desirable positions in football. I seriously doubt the board will heed any calls for termination of LvGs contract, until the end of the season.
