LvG is clearly needs to go, but if inside Woodwards head he wants to persist then he has to back him with a signing this window, surely?

To not get shut, and also not back him with a transfer is basically giving up on the season.

Please please let this be in the end. I hate being mean , but he's not up to it. He was a good manager, but his coaching methods are outdated, his philosophy unrealistic and his approach cautious.
He's in disbelief at how it can't work, showing just how out of touch he is with modern football and the tactics.
he's a complete ninkompoop (is that Dutch?)

The main thing I took from that article

"They have scored only two first-half goals in the Premier League since last summer."

:lol::(
 feck. You may as well not go to Old Trafford before 45 minutes.

Or after for that matter.

He is. I think it's old english
"late 17th century: "perhaps from the given name Nicholas or from Nicodemus (by association with the Pharisee of this name, and his naive questioning of Christ; compare with French nicodème ‘simpleton’)."

Exactly, has to be one or the other.

You'd think so wouldn't you?
But I have a sinking feeling its going to be neither.

The potential atmosphere at our next home game if that's how it plays out, and we put in another bad performance is going to be a sight to behold.
Then that's exactly what needs to happen. The atmosphere has to be extremely tense that the board can feel it. They're dithering and need a major wake up call.

Ah they'll be saying all's good now they've got their 'boxes' training back, can go to the canteen when they want, & have Giggs putting a bit of fun back into the place.

That's the important stuff for our players nowadays.
It sounds like a summer camp.

For the first time in my life I'm almost hoping we lose, just so van Gaal gets sacked and we get Mourinho in. That's how fecked up the running of this club is. Yet, I also have no faith that losing against Derby will be enough. This club is being run into the ground.

By senior players they mean Rooney.

If true, can we rely on Rooney to give an honest assessment of the what's going wrong knowing he'd likely be the first player dropped under a new manager. Especially as it would put his place at Euros in jeopardy.
Exactly. We're such a circus.

It can't get much more tense than Southampton. Woodward just hasn't got the balls to sack him.

It can always get tenser. Don't show up for the first half. Constant booing after the game for 20 mins, fans shouting Woodward out over and over? There are plenty of ways to make an atmosphere even more tense, just be creative about it.

Boot camp to Summer camp, that's how the papers made it sound, and if that's what actually happened then they'll all as happy as pigs in s**t, a little bit of booing is only a minor hinderence to their fun.

Think Watford with Depay? and Sunderland? Depay? should know as I was at the game, was like.... 2minutes into time added on in the first half even there. :nervous:

Why would Rooney want rid of him? He can literally play terribly as often as he wants and still get picked for every game.

I'm sure somewhere deep down, Wayne still wants to win things and he knows he will never as long as LVG is coach. Maybe Wayne even blames his slump on LVG and his tactics, whatever they are.

We could lose our next 10 games & it'd guarantee nothing, beacause we seemingly have just one man with the power to make the call, the one man who is absolutely desperate for it to work out.

If the stories of him talking LvG out of resigning twice already are true (why would you do that??) then we are in for a lot more of this yet imo.

We're probably stupid enough to impose him on the next manager, as well.

The two goals were Memphis against someone and OG against Tottenham.

I think he'll end the season despite everything and they will replace him in the summer. Knowing his staff, as they're a bunch of nodders to Van Gaal with the exception being Giggs, they will be consequential with Van Gaal if he leaves or is being fired and they will leave alongside him. Not saying that is the reason but it could be United doesn't want to shove around the entire staff for the rest of the season. Especially if it would only mean temporary bandage until they can make clean ship in the summer.

Life at United must be a rollercoaster.

Woodward has been a joke, awful on so many levels now and it shows. No one at this club on a board room level has a clue about football it seems, and VG is the tip of the iceberg
I'm starting to get similar vibes. But if that is the case, then why isn't he backing him in the market.
I think the problem is more or less Woodward at this point, I cannot really blame LVG for not walking and forfeiting his bonus. He should have been gone after Norwich and even he knows that.

I think we would back LVG in the transfer market but with the prices quoted for Felipe Anderson and Mane, we might as well wait for someone like Griezmann in the summer....it makes zero sense to pay €50M for Mane or Anderson, when it is not clear that they will massively improve the team.

Woodward is deluded by the fact we were able to sign Falcao and ADM when we didnt have champs league football...this may be the 2nd time in 3 years we arent going to achieve top 4 and this is after a season of playing the most dull, depressing football in decades...which player will want to play for us then?

If those stories are true then it's hard to even blame van Gaal.
This is true, it's easy to vent your anger soley at him, but of he wants out & Woodward won't let him/talks him around (he is under contract after all) then it's not his fault.

I just want to see him having a long & happy retirement in Portugal, he's done some good stuff in his career, but sadly this was just a job too far for him.

what a mess. I hate this guy so much.

I hear you man, but I feel that the real problem is not LVG but his employers.
Watch out tho, I called him a motherfecker a few weeks ago and was absolutely slated by a few folks here.

Why the hell is he still here?

Woodward should go with him as far as I am concerned. Convincing him to stay in the last month has fecked up our season.

Could have got new manager and some new players during this time.
