Saw we are also interested in Joao Mario from sporting. Anyone seen much of him? From what I've heard is that he has been a lot better and more consistent then Renato and is more of a ball player and talented player compared to Renato's physical prowess.
@Sly I guess you would know better then most

That bad? Can anyone confirm?
Yes, Benfica fans.

Renato Sanches NÃO ACERTA 1 PASSE
He doesn't give one good pass.

Pathetic. He didn't evolve since he was promoted to the first team.

Let's hope Manchester comes with 40 M, so we can buy a real 8.

Tem deficiência técnico-tácticas muito graves.
He has very important technical-tactical deficiencies.

The most overrated player on the planet. It will be the best business of history if we sell him for more than 40 M.

Let's be honest, he's not worth 40 M. at the moment let alone 80.

O Renato já acertou algum passe?
Did Renato give a good pass?

Renato destroys all our potential attacks.

Renato...LOL

80 M? I don't understand nothing about football.

Ainda dizem que deviamos rejeitar 50M pelo renato.
And some people say we have to refuse 50 M for Renato.

Renato Sanches? até por 30M ia já! Que péssimo, péssimo, péssimo!
Renato Sanches? Even for 30 M. So so bad.

Some more from his thread.

Eu começo a ter alguma duvidas...

A equipa melhorou imenso quando ele saiu.
I'm starting to have doubts.

Our team improved a lot when he was subbed.

Renato is exposed to criticism like every player. And he doesn't play a shit, that's the truth.

I'd like to be wrong, but if he leaves this season it's going to be hard for him, he needs to learn a lot. I feel sorry for him, football is shit nowadays.

To pay 40-60 M for a project would be pretty stupid, even more when a more demanding context could affect his evolution.

If he leaves now, the shot is not going to be for Benfica, but for Renato. And the hand who holds the gun is always the same: Jorge Mendes.

The best decision for him now would be to remain here for a pair of years, until he's 20.

He would be much better player, more prepared. He needs to think about the short term benefit. Money is not everything, a player with potential like him will always have interesting options.

How shocking, an 18 year old tailing off at the end of the season after being heavily linked with a
move to one of the biggest teams in the world.

Having done a little bit of youtube scouting, I think this would be an absolute catastrophe of a signing if LvG is still here. He'll drive him nuts with those touches/passes and find himself benched for months at a time. There are things to like about him as well though, but not to the tune of 50-60m.

Dollars, btw. The reported fee is 45 million pounds unless I'm mistaken, which will be around 30 million pounds as the main fee, and 15 million being achievement-oriented bonuses.

I've seen 40+20m euros and 40+40m euros reported, just couldn't be bothered to do the exact conversion. Either way, it's not my money and all that, but there has to be a line somewhere. If the players best attributes are physicality and athleticism, he's on the wrong side of that line.

If those are comfortably his best attributes then the scouts who suggest him should be fired given they've been stalking him for months now. If they are his best attributes with his dribbling and technical ability also being of a high level, then it's not an issue. From the clips I've seen he looks particularly good at running at defenders, but it's too small a sample size to say much.

I don't know what to make of the criticism posted above. It's not the sort of talk you expect of a top top talent. Or it could be aggrieved fans being overly critical of a player on his way out.

I've warned multiple times about the overhyping and that Benfica fans would be laughing all the way to the bank if United paid that ammount. Even so we can't overrate him to the extreme or say that he is rubbish now. He is an 18 year old, in his first half season, with decent performances against the likes of Bayern but obviously with some inconsistency performance wise. He was playing yesterday after he played a very intense friday match against Guimarães. He looked knackered. My input about him is this. He isn't worth the mentioned pricetags and he should stay another year (at least) in the portuguese league, get more experience in the Champions League and prove himself before moving to an european big club and a top league. There is obviously potencial in him to become an interesting player but the overhyping (mainly Benfica and portuguese media fault) can be detrimental to his development. Fame is going up to his head. Benfica and their manager need to do a better job protecting him from all the attention.

Agreed. I'm not going to claim any kind of expertise on the player. I've only seen one or two Benfica games this season + a few youtube compilations and "every touch" videos. From that limited viewing I'm far from convinced though, and like I said, he certainly doesn't look like a LvG type CM. I don't really see what he brings to the table that for example Kante doesn't, and that money would certainly be enough to buy Kante, a more ready made, proven talent.

He's the opposite of a LVG player. He likes positional discipline, good vision of the field and good sense of positioning. He's against taking risks, it's forbidden to lose the ball, and driving through the middle.

And this kid does the exact opposite. He's impulsive, lacks any kind of tactical culture, loses the ball permanently and his main strength is to carry the ball forward with powerful runs. If LVG remains here next season this is going to be similar to Di Maria, simply not compatible. It could be different if we hire Mourinho, but it would be a pointless transfer anyway.

This is the one of the most pathetic attempts of creating a star when there's nothing. We've seen hundreds of new Peles and Maradonas, but this is probably one of the most ridiculous chapters in football. Mendes and Benfica want to do the business of the year at the expense of some idiots with money, and they have found one, it seems.

I'm not portuguese but I can understand it more or less, with a bit of help (Google translate :D).

Exactly, is from that forum. Obviously there's positive comments about his potential, and more and less balanced criticism. But I find it funny how many people here is always impressed with him, and they think he will improve our team from the start. While his own fans are mainly saying that he's immature for Benfica and he's not ready for a move.

Our scouts seem to rate him if the reports are to be believed.

No where near the finished article, but looks a very talented exciting young player. I thought more would be looking forward to him signing, rather than doom & gloom of recent pages.

From Martial to this whooper of a thread

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/saúl-Ñíguez.413414/page-5

..notice Kevin claiming Saul has the technical skills of a woodchiper ot a gardener.. Wasting more money ffs..

The Redcafe scouting department needs a serious overhaul.
Not entirely convinced I am wrong yet. We shall see.
Kevin was quite dissapointed when we bought Martial aswell.
Utter nonsense. Look up my history, search Martial.
We were both conned by di maria though, I remember we were best buddies in convincing the caf non believers.

Di Maria wasn't a failure, he was the highest assister in the league(until he stopped being played) in a team that was a complete mess. If he stayed with us this season he would have looked a completely different player. He needed willing runners to fully appreciate his risky passing. Having Rooney and Fellaini upfront for most of the season was a huge mistake.

Apart from my obvious wums during FellaBarry summer (i might have made cases for Osman and McCarthy during joke summer) , I am usually correct when I am serious and have my game face on. Harry Kane and Di Maria have been the only ones I have been really really wrong on.

Said Oscar was going to turn out naff when everyone was somehow drooling over him (yes people really rated him in his first year or so, all I saw were deficiencies and I had to go for an extra dentist appointment to get my teeth whitened for that last laugh), told you Lacazette and Otamendi and Pedro were flattering to deceive when everyone inexplicably had for certain the first two on their "throw 40 million at them, can not believe we let blah blah sign then" list ladt summer, wrote off Depay's dribbling ability and creativity months before he joined.. Until I joined the long list of gullible fecks who got conned by that crazy psv fan and gave him a chance. Did not believe Adnan would amount to anything when he was doing well, said Welbeck is naff when he was Enjoying Rashford treatment on here, my list of credentials go on.

I makae mistakes but i have an 80% success ratio. Heed my advice when I am not messing.

That bit

Don't worry. We were all conned.
He is truly an amazing poster, to even convince someone as assured of my views and opinions like myself... Up to february 2015 I still found him a nothing player, another Kezman story in a rubbish league that would fail to amount to muh outside of rubbish leagues. He had obvious deficiencies, his dribbling and close control was average and I felt his tricks were pre-rehearsed (did it hundred times by myself in training, let's randomly pull it out, hope it confuses the opponent and make me stumble past him) instead of actually being aware of where he is going with the particular skill during the execution. He would be exposed and I have made posts about it if you search back.

After three months of relentless essays and brainwashing treatment by that psv guy I gave up on all of my assessments and thought we had signed the new Ronaldo. One of the most embarrassing chapters on redcafe of my life. He took my pride of an esteemed confident poster and resheeped me into the sheeps on here that go meeeeeh when their random popular redcaf poster/leader goes yeaah... The ones I always laugh at.
