Not sure how I feel about the final now. Would we sack him after winning a cup, given that December somehow didn't do for him? Would I prefer for us to lose the final and get someone else in charge next season? Argh.

I can't see how it would make the slightest difference if they sacked him now or after the final. It seems highly unlikely that players would be motivated to make him look good (I just can't see him as a people person). If they were showcasing for a new manager however...that said, I don't think it would matter if there was no manager - players don't need motivating for big days out like a cup final.
Losing out on goal difference is a fitting way for him to go.
