Pissed off that someone had leaked it probably, but to be perfectly honest I don't really care how lvg feels and like I said above its the person who leaked the news that started it, the press are there to get the story.
Exactly.

Poor LVG. He's getting £10m for doing a piss poor job. I don't feel sorry for him.

Sky's Haley McQueen said categorically that it was Jose's team that leaked it and that Man Utd would not be happy about it.
She was also toeing the MUFC party line a few weeks ago saying LVG was staying blah blah blah that was the word around the club. So you have to wonder, how much she knows...

Also Mendes is in China. Did he call all the journos and tell them whilst they in Wembley.

This stinks of a Ed briefing. I bet he is too spineless to tell LVG himself.

ESPN via Miguel Delaney said club sources. The journalists who broke the story also have no real history with Mendes. The BBC guys, Delaney, Wallace, Ogden, those are names that, at first glance, seem much closer to Woodward.
I've said a number of times on here my son was told by Lou Macari, who works for MUTV before the game LvG would be sacked despite the score.

So hyped for this. Best manager in the world for me.

Just hope we've given him complete control of the transfers and that he's allowed to get rid of expensive flops LVG signed.
Well yeah and just hope he won't do Mendes more favours like bringing Falcao to Chelsea after the season he just had at United.

It's not only that this has pissed on LVG's parade. It has also taken the shine of off the cup win for the players and the club. Sky have said that the celebrations at the team hotel was muted. A group of young men who we are affiliated with have had their success pissed on some of who had never won a trophy before.

It has been 3 years since we won a trophy we should have celebrated this over the weekend But Jose wouldn't let that happen. He is a lose cannon he doesn't care what the club he is about to work for wants to happen he is all about self. Man Utd obviously didn't want this released this weekend but his team don't care about that. Why should they be worried about what our club wants.

Okay he will be our manager for up to 3 years and I hope he leads us to trophies but his actions last night highlighted why I dislike this man so much on a human level. So I'll support my team and it's players over the next 3 years or so will celebrate the success that they might get but will never like this man no matter what success he brings to our club.
Sorry but this really smacks of huge bias against Mourinho. Do you honestly think he's thought 'I'm going to steal the headlines tonight' and then phoned every journalist to release it? Even by proxy? Nonsense.

When questioned face-to-face by Sky, he congratulated the team on the cup and made no comment. He clearly did not engineer this timing and to use that as a stick to beat him with is just really blinkered.

He will be our manager, so support him. Most managed to support Moyes ffs, so I think we can get behind one of the world's best managers!

Yeah I saw that post Sults.

People are acting as if they don't know Woodward does mass media briefings. Like he didn't do this to Moyes.

I think some posters are so keen for Mou to be a monster that everything is being blamed on him.

This place is going to be fun, those who already hated Mourinho and those who are pissed off their darling LvG got sacked. Amusingly it's mostly the *******s who have been saying we must support the manager all season.
I haven't said that. To me the team/club is always more important than the manager. I don't and never will like Jose but I want the team to do well. Supporting my team does not mean that I have to like the manager.

So many divas on here getting all bent out of shape for nothing. If we had lost and if the news broke out, would you all still be this enraged?

Almost surely, he has told him for a few months now. On his last few conferences, LVG was going into meltdown after each question, and changed his behavior from 'I am not getting sacked', to 'it is a decision for the board'.

My theory is that the media have been knowing it for some time, but they agreed to embargo it until after the cup final in return getting United word (in the white) that LVG is getting sacked.

I don't think that there is any chance that Mendez has leaked it considering that he isn't an idiot, he is on good stands with United, and he has nothing to win by this. Someone from Mendez's/Mourinho's camp who got overexcited might be, but it is very unlikely that it was either of those two who made the leak.

There's not a chance the BBC would have run with this if it wasn't going to happen, right? Is there a chance for this to not go through now?
Mourinho could get hit by a bus on his way to sign the contract

I don't believe there was any leak yesterday. What I do believe is that a number of the decent media outlets already new about the deal but were probably asked by United, not to make it public until after the last game, sadly it looks like these media outlets took this literally.

Exactly. There's no way he didn't know. I'm sure he knew months ago.

Over dramatic much? You have no concrete evidence Mourinho had anything to do with the leak. Could have been Ed for all you know.
Sky are still saying that Man Utd are not happy about this being released. Why would Ed release it then come out so strongly against it being leaked? Man Utd didn't leak this they didn't want it our there yet.

I agree with this. At the time Louis was under the most pressure, the stories that he'd be sacked very soon suddenly ceased; I think the media were told that he'd see out the season regardless.

It ain't nice after winning the FA Cup to hear news of being replaced, but he probably already knew top 4 is a must. I see more support for him now then a few weeks ago when not many had a good thing to say about him, don't feel sorry for him his won us a trophy and gets paid a shit load of money for the crap we've played all season!

Time to move on, thanks LVG for the cup and bringing through the youth and all the best to you and your family.

I'll support the team and the club. Jose will be just one man in the organisation that I really dislike. That wont change no matter what happens.

Irrespective of who did or did not leak it, firstly it was the worst kept secret in football and secondly LvG probably knew him staying on was contingent on Top 4 at minimum.

This has one of Eds briefings written all over out. I think he's used Mendes to leak the news because he knew full well that as soon as the full time whistle went yesterday, the eyes of all United fans were on him. He's a spineless cnut and he wanted to keep us off his back.

This doesn't just have repercussions for LVG but maybe Giggs also. A club legend.

Ed and Mourinho both get on well with LVG. Neither of them had a hand in leaking it.

Leaking it on the night of a cup win doesn't serve United's or Mourinho's purposes. It may well serve the purposes (£££) of Mendes/his lackeys.

Yes, but then they started peddling stories of how there's a split in the board on hiring Jose and various other assorted bullshit.

I dont get it, Mendes mouth piece Castkes says its not done, yet people blame Mendes. Mendes is in china! he is expected to fly to manchester in 48 hours. You think mendes would call up every news source? BBC would never publish an article and give their own name to it unless they got it from the club. Its not the tabloid journalists only, its also the respected ones that said its done. The briefing has to come from the Club or someone close to the club. There is no way they all risk their reputation just because an agent claims it is done.

Moyes had to put up with a flood reports of Van Gaal after defeats to Olympiakos and Bayern. I think it's worse to kick a man when he's down (i.e. after a defeat) than after he's won something? But apparantly Van Gaal's camp briefing the press when things are going bad for Moyes is classy and Mourinho's camp are classless cnuts. It's just football, all managers have to deal with this sort of thing now.

Morality police out in force.

I was so disillusioned by his playing style over the last 2 seasons I'd have not cared a jot had he not been given an opportunity to walk out with the team yesterday. I don't personally care even if Mourinho did leak the news. We get to know most transfers and managerial appointments whilst other managers are still in charge. United are no different.

The hell is wrong with this place sometimes? People have been complaining about LvG for ages, wanting him sacked since December. Now that it finally happened, people are going out in full force blaming Mourinho for leaking it, saying he's a twat and that the club is classless because...? Have everyone just forgot why we were complaining in the first place? Did we play well against freakin' Palace in the final or were we sh*t as usual, limping to the finish line? Does anyone remember LvG saying our expectations are too high? I mean it was almost a week ago now.

LvG has been absolutely awful, made some really strange remarks lately such as the above mentioned, and now people are throwing a fit when we finally get rid of the man at least I, have come to pretty much despise. I'm really excited about Mourinho and really happy we won the FA Cup, but this place sometimes... Some of you deserve another season with sh*t on a stick football. I mean, Pep, Conte, Klopp, Wenger, Poch and even Ranieri... One more season with LvG could have been a disaster. Just enjoy that we finally have a manager worthy of taking over after SAF. Oh and that we won the FA Cup. Who cares what the media reports by the way? We won, do you need to revel in the news on the internet to be able to fully appreciate that we won it? Bah.

Semi-rant over.

No-one knows what our stance is on Mourinho; that's why supporters and the press have been tearing their hair out guessing for the past six months. For all we know Ed feels LVG failed him personally and wanted to give him a sly 'feck you' as he left. No better way than an anonymous leak.

Sorry, that makes no sense. Like van Gaal, there were reports of us meeting Mourinho months ago too. Nobody said that was classless. Pissing on van Gaal's parade within an hour of the final whistle is indeed classless...regardless of who leaked it
Jose didn't seem to be one to have the leak though. Look at his Sky interview. He spent it praising Van Gaal and refused to entertain the rumours.

ESPN also stating that Van Gaal already knew about this. It's the fans who didn't. It's not like the Moyes situation when he found through the media

Haley has reiterated that Mendes has said that he believes Jose will be coming in and having talks with the club and the club have said nothing yet. It was Mendes who put this out their yesterday.

I don't see the point in being dismayed by the leak when we've seen good men like Carlo and loyal servants like Rio dismissed in a similarly cold manner; this is the way football is sometimes, sadly, and we just have to get on with it.
