This is some good advice on away games. I think it was regarding Chelsea away but much of it applies to any United away game.
This is great, thank you. Are there usually set pubs that the United support pre-drinks in for each London team they play against?

Yes and they are only 'set' because they have been used for years and years. Not every single fan goes to this one pub but generally you'll find most will find their way at some point in the day there.

Arsenal for example is normally the Drayton arms, Chelsea begins at the Courtfields, Spurs there is an Irish center that gets plenty of reds, Palace is a witherspoon called The Flora Sandes, Watford is the Moon under water, West Ham used to be the Denmark Arms but not sure where it will be now they moved.

There is plenty of other pubs you can go in with smaller pockets of reds so it depends what you are going for.

Right, so if I make my way to the Courtfields before the Chelsea game on the 23rd, there's a small chance I'd be able to get a ticket in the United section (albeit for a steep price)? I don't mind sitting with the Chelsea supporters worst case scenario, but it would be nice to know what the odds are.

You WILL get a ticket. You just need to accept the price will be high and get over that mental barrier of spending that amount. A few pints should see to that. You could get lucky and get cheaper but therein is the skill my friend.

Your problem money wise is the competition in London from people who do have that kind of money and don't care about paying it. It has added value with it being Joses first game at the bridge with United.

It goes without saying to know what the real ticket for this season looks like so your not scammed. Mine has not been posted yet but when it is I will send a pic if you need it.

Awesome. I personally just want to experience matchday atmosphere. That being said, any singing at the pubs or is that a no-no?

Absolutely the louder the better. Obviously takes a while to get going as drinks go down and more people come in but once it starts up it doesn't stop.

I'm in that vid. Eto'o hat-trick game under Moyes where we lost 3-1.

On another note, I've got 4 free tickets going for tonight in the North Stand if anyone's around and wants to use them. Will need to collect paper tickets from the ticket office. PM me with your mobile number if so.

Well done on that offer mate! Ive done the same in the past when tickets were going spare, better to have them used than to have empty seats.

The guy I gave my Stoke ticket to has now put that up as a 'spare' on twitter. I really really hope he's not conning other fans after paying me face value. I scrolled down his timeline and he's been looking for Arsenal spares too.
Hope I get my season ticket back in one peice. I'm never selling on twitter again!

Still looking for a pair for Stoke if anyone can oblige?
There were some tickets available, including pairs, to members last night online so might still be some now. Worth calling up and grabbing 2 memberships for £32 each as I'm sure they'll come in handy over the season. You even get returns for the big home games the week before.

I do realise this is highly unlikely but I'll still give it a shot. In unfortunate scenario for someone who won't be able to make Liverpool away, I would be glad to pick up their ticket!

Guys, advice needed. My brother is going to the Liverpool away game via an application from a mate with a season ticket that's just moved back to Australia. The mate has received a letter from the club about being randomly chosen to have to collect the ticket in person from the ticket office otherwise he'll be banned from applying for aways for the next 12 months. Is there any way round this?

Yes there is.

They can cancel the ticket with the club which means they will have to collect every subsequent away game ticket they get which basically means they should only apply for away games that they can actually go to themself.

From a selfish point of view, this kind of situation gives me small hope of a callback from United to get a returned ticket.

If he is an exec, he still might be able to do a name change to your brothers name. Means your brother will have to pickup with ID if the deadline has not passed or if he can sweet talk them into doing it for him.

If he is a standard ticket holder he can:

a) Do nothing and hope United are bluffing and the ticket comes in the post (they did this for the FA cup last year).
b) Fly back to collect the ticket
c) Do nothing and get banned as the ticket collection proceeds.

Those are your options.

He can also cancel his ticket as I said mate. Means he has to collect every future away match ticket but it's better than being banned from applying at all, unless of course he risks the ticket coming in the post as you said and it does.

The below is from the official website.

Please take note of some important changes and reminders regarding our 2016/17 away games:

• Domestic away game applications are accepted from Executive Club Members, Silver, Gold and Platinum level Season Ticket holders (subject to payment for all home cup matches) and Official Members with accessible seating requirements.
• Executive Club Members are required to provide details of supporters using tickets for away games, within 48 hours of the ballot, as we need to be able to identify the end-users of away match tickets to ensure that the below checks can be undertaken. In the event this information is not provided, tickets for the game will be cancelled and reallocated.
• To ensure the fairest distribution of tickets, the Club will no longer permit a single payment card to be used on more than one away game application. Applications detected to have used the same payment card will automatically be made unsuccessful before each ballot is processed. To allow families to continue to apply together, we will increase the number of tickets per application from 4 to 6.
• If an away match ticket is transferred or found in the possession of another supporter, the Club will discontinue your ability to apply for away games. If a ticket is resold to another supporter your facilities will be cancelled without refund, and you will be banned from buying tickets and attending matches for a period of three years.
• Please remember that Away match tickets are non-transferable (passing to friends or family at face value, or free of charge is not permitted). All tickets ticket must be used by the registered holder. If you apply for an away game and unable to attend, please contact us to cancel and receive a refund for your match ticket, at least 24 hours before the game is due to be played.
• We will conduct match ticket validations at selected away grounds. Any supporter required to collect their match ticket, must collect in person at the nominated stadium, with photographic identification. Please do not apply for a game unless you are able to collect your ticket.
• Any supporters who cancel a ticket once they have been asked to collect will be required to collect their ticket for every subsequent game where they are successful in a ballot.
• Any supporters who are asked to collect, do not cancel, and then do not collect, will lose their right to apply for domestic away games for a minimum of 12 months.

Hi guys, still on the look out for two tickets for West Ham at home on Sun 26th Nov.

Failing that, Arsenal (19th Nov) or Tottenham (11th Dec)? But I'm assuming tickets for those two will be harder to come by?

Trying to squeeze a trip in before Christmas if possible.

I have also got to pick up my tickets from Liverpool but I'm not seeing this as a bad thing as I appear to be getting more tickets this season. Before this my mate and I both used to make an application each using friends season tickets hoping that one of us would be successful. We were never lucky enough to both be successful for the same game. This backfired last season when for Spurs I had to pick up from the ground with a mate who had never been to an away game as he spent most of his time abroad.
I got lucky that he lived in London and decided he would go so we didn't suffer any repercussions.
However, because of Uniteds new regulations we only apply for the games we can actually go to and so far managed to get all the ones we really wanted and only got knocked back for Northampton which is not surprising.

Looking for 2 tickets to Burnley at home on 29th October. Cheers.
Still looking for 2 (or 3) together for Burnley.

I have a few memberships I can use but the ticket site says more will be released at a later date and it's been this way for a while. Rang the ticket office and they said they would only release more tickets if some are returned. Would we expect there to be returns / more released to members?

Nearly 100% certain there will be mate. Sign up for alerts when tickets go on sale and you should get notified when as soon as they do. I think every home game bar City so far this season have had returns available the week before the game. Even for City, there were returns available on the morning of the game and someone in here picked up tickets I believe.

That's why, in my opinion, it's worth having access to memberships for anyone looking to get to more than one game a season.

Have a pair for Swansea away, looking to swap for a pair for Chelsea away.

Will happily add in another less glamorous away too (on top of the above) or a pair of STs for Liverpool home or Chelsea home (both on top of the Swansea away pair) as understand that Chelsea away is a "little" more attractive than Swansea away.

Let me know. Plenty here that can vouch for me. Cheers,
