So the season is over and we have nothing to play for. Wonderful.
I am just massively mad right now. That post wasn't really genuine but more of an outburst. There have been plenty of games this season when we have poor performances, especially at home, and I generally stay away from the cafe on those days but today I am absolutely simmering because we have to pull our finger out soon if we have to get into the CL next season.

This game just showed how much we relied on Zlatan and Pogba form to win games. Its unacceptable Bournemouth having 10 men and only 2 shots at goal / 1 shot on target whole game. We really need more key players instead of having a bunch of players that can only play short simple passes.

Same old same old. Problems pretty simple, if Zlatan has an off day we're in trouble.

Our general play was great first half albeit against a shit defence. Second half less so but we still had chances. But we just don't have enough finishers in the team. People used to moan about Andy cole needing five chances to score a goal, but our lads these days need ten.

To say we could have scored three with decent finishing would have been an understatement in that first half. But where we need players who just slot the ball home cooly, we have players who hammer shots straight at the keeper. Their goalie had a great day, but it was the volume of saves that was impressive, not too many were outstanding in isolation.

Almost every attacking player was guilty today and for me it's about the wrong blend in the squad. Seems pointless to pick out names.

I get that. Lets hope they pull it out soon because the second half wasn't good enough. Decent 1st 45 and we should've beem out of sight.

We can't play with ten men and we can't play against ten men. We became absolute shit once they went man down.

A team of fecking donkeys, with the main donkey Pogba. Some individuals actually deserve a praise for the ability to pull such a horrendous shit show.

Phil Jones should never be on the pitch again the fecking liability that he is. Why bring Fellaini and keep him in the middle of the pouch? He should be playing in front of goal. Bunch of miserable twats all of them.

They can go home and shove the league cup medals up their ass, because it ain't worth shit if they can't beat the worst team in the league, man down, at home.

And that fecking ref, are you kidding me?? Absolutely lost the game. Had no control whatsoever. Missed yellows, reds, hand balls, penalties... and 5 minutes of added time?? Really? Should've been 7-8, at least.

And don't start with the 'one of these days' excuse, because it is not. There have been way too much. Unbeaten record doesn't worth shit if we're going to also break the home drawn games record.

We are massively overrated, and any of you (myself included before this game) who thinks we are better than 6th-7th place should have a wake up call. We are fecking shit.

Rant over.

We should have been out of sight in the first 15. Zlatan missing the pen was the cherry on top of shit cake.

That was an awful last 65 mins. First 25 was good but finishing was so bad.

Ive said it all season, pogba is so overrated. He is a good player but this world class machine? He is nowhere near that level. He is wasteful all over the pitch!

Ibra did not have a good game. Cant really criticise him as he has been great this year but Jose should of taken him off. After the elbow incident it was one of the worst performances i have seen for a while. Why he took the penalty when clearly that incident had shaken him, i dont no.

Rooney is way past it now, why does he start? Sell him and be done because i camt stand watching him no more.

So gutted with the draw but mata really pleased me. 80 mins on the clock and hes shoutimg the players to be calm and hoofing it around. Great professional, only of the players had listened.

2 points dropped.

Think we did well to hold on for a draw.

I wouldn't mind if Zlatan actually left next season. Next season, the defenders in the league will have studied Zlatan better and it would be foolish to depend on for goals like this season. Zlatan is a great player and I love the fact that he's scored so many goals for us but there have been quite a few times like these when he's gone missing and to miss the penalty was "the icing on the cake". His body language when he took the free kick was pathetic. His conversion ratio to even test the keeper is just abysmal from a free kick. We could have lost the game if the red card had gone against us. He's come in and definitely boosted the spirits at OT but I think we need someone else to come in when Zlatan is misfiring.

All went wrong once Carrick was subbed. Obviously a number of players had bad days.

Very disappointed to drop the points today. My only criticism would be that Rashford should've started the game on the right instead of Mata. Fellaini should've been playing behind Zlatan when he came on.

We're still unbeaten in the league since October and there's everything to play for.

A very frustrating watch. Zlatan was woeful and will probably get a 3 or 4 match ban to boot, as for Jones, I'm speechless to be honest, I'll be surprised if we see him playing in the next game but to be fair none of those players can really say they had a good game.

I don't know what the hell is going on with us at home but we're certainly trying to make it hard for ourselves to qualify for the champions league.

Good to see the usual calm and measured responses in the match day thread, I'm almost glad I can't post in there because it would seem once you go in there you lose your fecking mind in there.

Some thoughts:

1) We deserved to win based on our performance overall and chances created, but we didn't take them. First half was very good bar some key moments.

2) Accordingly, the second half today was possibly the worst 45 minutes post-Ferguson at Old Trafford. There's some real contenders, but we failed to do close to anything versus a team who cannot defend recently, who are in freefall, and who had 10 men. Look at the xG graphics for the second half. 0.4! We created virtually nothing. That is simply awful. Genuinely awful.

3) Triple sub was weird. We ended up with no left-sided player on the left, very little central midfield, and no coherent strategy. Wanted to see Rooney off, but not like that.

4) Time and time again I have said it. Watch how the attacking players warm up. So complacent with the shooting routine and it spills over into the match. This needs adressing and quickly.

We honestly don't deserve top 4 this season as bad as we have been at home in finishing teams off. We scored the first goal and thought we'd just stroll through it.

I was so sure Ibra would get subbed off at half time because he was seriously lucky and thought Mou would not risk him but, he plays another full 90 minutes. He has delivered but, at some point when he is having a shit game he needs to know that he will be hooked - right now he knows he is untouchable.

The panic station football when we had so much time, the constant long balls was beyond comprehension - why not pull them apart from the wide areas, overload, play football against 10 men?

The triple sub was ridiculous - should have at least seen how the pattern of play changed with 2. The 3 of them injected a total of zero to our game.

Feck this crap !

Where the grass is greener.
Fellaini should have been pushed forward as soon as he came on, no idea why he played in midfield for ten minutes, it was a waste of everyones time. Once he went up front at least he was having some sort of impact.

That second half emphasised the need for a beast of a captain who could calm down and focus all the headless chickens and prima donna's.
We have lacked a genuine leader on the pitch since the good ol' days of Vidic, Evra and Rio. We have had 3 seperate managers since then and none of them have bothered to address the situation. The reason for that eludes me, but it's days like today where that lack of leadership comes to the fore.

Wouldn't the correct choice of subs have been Rashford for Ibra, Herrera for Pogba and Fellaini for Rooney?

I really dont' get what Mou was thinking with his choice of subs, really odd.

Zlatan reacts
Ibrahimovic has been talking to MUTV about that pair of incidents.

On the elbow he said:

With the elbow situation, I jumped and I protected myself. I jumped high and he jumped into me, I think he jumped backwards and I jumped straight up. This situation happens. I went for the ball and unluckily he jumped into my elbow, nothing on purpose and hopefully he is not injured.

And on the stamp:

What happens on the field stays on the field. I will never be a player that comes here and says he did that, he did it on purpose, he didn’t do it purpose. The game is hard and I am not here to blame somebody or something else. I take full responsibility that I didn’t score and we didn’t win.

All our defects were on display today. Poor finishing, by my count we had five good chances in the first 14 mins, lazy passing, showboatism where players seemed to be looking at themselves in a mirror, poor decisons by Mou - first change should have been made on 60 mins, over-reliance on Ibra, long ball and out to wingers who can't cross strategy.

The more tired they got, the worse we played. A truly pathetic perfoirmance.
