I am no tactician yet I understand the game as well as most armchair fans. The statement is relevant because Klopp did not buy most of the average attackers at his disposal, but has tweaked things to enable them to score more than you would expect, thus the attacking whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Now I don't think Klopp is special, I just feel with the amount we have spent on attacking players, many of which have delivered goals/assists in the past, we should be getting more offensively. I think many could allude to this. It is too easy to say, "all of our attackers are average, we need world class XYZ." Zlatan, Miki, Pogba are attacking players signed by Jose. Martial is one who he tried to buy at Chelsea. Mata is very decent. Could a manager as experienced as Jose, not devise a strategy to "play more attacking" with these guys? I mean Martial, Miki and Mata will never score many goals when asked to play as extra FB in addition to their attacking instincts as these aren't ways they have flourished in the past.I dont really see the point of snarky post like this (you are of course welcome to post whatever you want, im not trying to say you shouldnt). All it shows is a lack of understanding of the game. That statement is only relevant if Liverpool play a similar system and have similar profile of players which they don't. It would be like me saying Guardiola should learn from Mourinho on how to get defenders defending; the two managers expect vastly different things from their defenders. so saying this is asinine.
Managers and players aren't lego pieces that can be changed at will. Different manager's expect different things from their players and different systems flourish using different profiles of players. For all we know Liverpool's attack would turn to complete shit if they played under Mourinho and our defense might turn into complete shit if they played under Klopp. One can say with confidence that Firmino would flop as a no.9 in our team because he does not have the correct attributes to play as our no.9. This doesn't mean he is a bad no.9 or that our system is bad; it simply means there is a mismatch...and mismatches happen all the time in football.
