Your obvisouly being sarcastic, but I fail to see how Defoe wouldn't be a good option of the bench for a free. He scores goals, got pace, premier league proven and I'm sure he'll settle for a place on the bench for 1 year.
We have Rashford, Martial, Morata and quite Possibly Rooney. We shouldnt be looking to sign another pension inferior to the one we have just let go when we have quality in the squad inalready.

The only problem I have with these big fees is, the pressure it puts on the player especially the younger ones. Whenever a player is bought for huge money he's expected to hit the ground running.
Doesn't seem like so big to me after Pogba.

Somehow I don't see us getting both of them. We are going to play in a one-striker system and already have Rashford and Martial. If one of them was a secondary striker like Griezmann or Rooney, atleast then it would make sense.
We are not going to play one striker system i think we'll play 3 forwards. But yeah we wont get both belotti and morata, If we are to spend on another forward it should be grizmann next season.

What do they have to do with him missing chances? This I'm guessing is why we're in for a striker.
If those chances were easy to convert than surely Mou would have replaced Ibra with some other option and they would score the goals.

Always look on the bright side of things eh?
Im only being realistic. There's not many top quality strikers around. Hence why despite we've got money to burn, United best options are Real's benchwarmer and a striker who never played with a great club

Anyone else thinks Jose is going to do what he did at Inter when he played Eto'o on thr right, Pandev on the left and Milito central?
Perisic Belotti Morata.

So did our resident bs @Acquire Me told us about Morata signing ? because from what I can gather there wasn't any publicised interest like Greizmann that we'd be signing him.

Am I the only one who isn't the least bit excited about this?
Apparently not but then again there seems to be a very low entry requirement for judging players these days .

I hope morata proves us wrong if signed.

1. A regular bench player at madrid.
2. Italian players not sucessful in the premiere league.
3.expensive buy with 60 to 70 mil.
( price of pogba has escalated the market)
Although having said that, at least most people know he's Spanish

Here you go muppets, time to get your cocks out. He's exactly what we need in front of goal.

He has a habit of hitting/heading it at the goal keeper a lot as shown in that video and his close control is hardly great either. I want him to prove me wrong by being a 30 goal in all comps striker (which is a fair expectation for such a huge outlay) but I honestly just don't see him doing that.

We had Rashford, Martial, Ibrahimovic (who's a more proven goal scorer than Morata) and Rooney (who is probably leaving anyway) last year and we constantly struggled to score goals. We scored less goals than Bournemouth last year in the league, who are taking Defoe.

Based on one run against Bayern some think he is the second coming of Ronaldo9, if it was something he could do consistently, Benzema wouldnt play a game.
He can't but posters here will cling to one offs like that rather than face the reality that if any other team was paying such a fee for a player of his ability, we would be rightfully crucifying them. Mind you, our transfer strategy in the last 4 years has been waste after waste, so no surprise there anymore.

One thing that gives me hope is that Mourinho knows him well, so here's hoping he proves us doubters wrong.

To be fair, this is public as hell  and it has been for a while. Not a done deal, so not much to say. Wait for Di Marzio.

Which I'd hope would be an indication to ypu that personnel wasn't our proven. Or is Defoe a better option than Martial, Rashford and Morata then?

He's not 25 for almost another 5 months, since when was that peak age for a striker?

He was Madrid's second top scorer this last season. I feel he's being hugely underrated by some people here.
His age is usually the peak years for strikers. Top of his physical strength.

Hope your right. I hope with him we have our main striker for years to come. I hope i eat my words this christmas.

Perisic Belotti Morata.
I was just writing something similar When I saw this. He's a great player but he just doesn't look like a natural finisher. Except for his heading. Can't say I'm an expert but he feels like he should be either side of the central striker.

24/25 is definitely not the usual peak age for a striker.

Wanted him last summer and happy with his potential purchase this time around.
He's a very classy player, I think a lot of United fans who're unsure will take an instant liking to him when they see him play.

It took RVP until he was about 27 to get anywhere near his peak.

It's public now. Greizmann was our long term target and it was known for ages.

Also you didn't answer my question.

I am not super excited. I was never super excited about RvP. In fact, it took me a long time to feel he was one of us and not one of them.
And I was super excited about Di Maria coming to Utd and look how that turned out.

Hope he does excellently well here.

PS: All those super excited people should not forget that, if he comes, it will be first season for him in PL. So don't lose your knickers when he is unable to meet your lofty expectations
