How would you feel if Rooney smashed it at Everton?

I've said for months now: give him the games, keep him fit, he'll do the business. But I got shouted down time and time again by the haters
You say this like he's proven you right.

I'll be shocked if he does well, I think he will start off the pace, take a few games to get going, find a little bit of form and then fade out to oblivion. He'll be benched and discussing America next Christmas.

I would be absolutely staggered. And also incensed.

He's been shot for a long time so I see no possible way he could ever return to anything like his previous best. If he's scores 12 league goals this year he'll be very happy imo.

If he did hit 25+ goals I'd be seriously asking why the feck he couldn't pull his finger out of his arse for us, when he was our bloody captain and earning double what they're paying him!

Unless he lose a few stones, put sheer focus on the gym and training field and get a brand new leg transplant, its just not going to happen.

Not sure if serious
I'm absolutely serious.

I also 100% assure you, the use is widespread and rampant at the top levels of football. Looking at Rooney however, I'm fairly certain he isn't reaping the benefits of the fountain of youth.

Be happy for him and he can be very good to watch as a football fan when he is playing well. As long as it's not against us.

It would be the most shocking part of next season for me, I just don't see it. Zlatan is a bad comparison because he was always in shape and always had an impact, it also didn't hurt to play in the French league for years with a stacked team. I'd be very happy for him though, the way his career is slowly wrapping up, I wish he could have closed his chapter here with a league title or a champion's league, or had an impact in the final of the europa league. I just hope he gets a good send off at the end of his playing career.

Cant see it happening,to be honest.Rooneys fitness and form has been in steep decline for over a couple of years now.His body shape means its very unlikely he will get back his touch and form of a few years ago.
He's been a great servant for us and I wish him well.I hope he does get a cracking goal or two to revive memories,as long as its not against us.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I actually expect him to make a big impact. Rooney has struggled in recent years, but so have United, I'd be more surprised if the move doesn't reinvigorate him.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. It's not as if he wasn't given sufficient opportunities at United, he played almost every game until it was beyond a joke. His performances during LVG's 2nd season were an absolute disgrace and quite how he retained his place in the team is beyond comprehension. If Memphis goes on to be a world star then I'll wonder if perhaps we should have handled him differently, similarly Januzaj.

Rooney should have left years ago. If Everton get a good season or two out of him then good for them. Having said that, I don't like their chances.

Playing for a top 6 team is different to playing for Everton, though that would change if Everton forced their way into the top 4. The challenges are different, the opposition doesn't necessarily set up in the same fashion or play with the same intensity.

I'd be happy. Never understood the level of hate some on here have for him. Utd legend who has now moved on and deserves respect for all he did here over the years. Hope you smash it Rooney unless it's against us!

He has no chance if he genuinely thinks this:

Rooney said:
“I started the season doing OK. I’d done well, I had a bad game at Watford away, and that was it [out of the team].”

Reading the quotes from his press conference he still sounds like a man on a severe decline who is largely in denial.

It's a shame but I think he's done.

I'd be very happy for him. If he does it I'd still think it was the right decision to get rid. Don't think he could do it with us but over there it might be just the catalyst he needs.

I like Everton, i like their players, i like seeing our former players like Schneiderlin, Keane or Rooney doing good over there :) Genuinely hope they will end above Liverpool :)

By which, all the times he started and fluffed it all up by stinking out the place? There's one thing giving fitness to a player but there's another by giving a Charity Run out to a Sunday League Pub player.
hardly worth a reply...

How would you feel if he tanks severely for Everton, but scores home and away against your lot to take points from you, and tops it all off with doing an adebayor at old trafford?

Probably a weird combination of fury and arousal.

I would be extremely pleased and happy for him if he did have a good season at Everton. He deserves a good season for a good end to his career.

Happy if it was because it was a good fit for him.
Annoyed if it was because he started to really push himself and got into really good shape (something he couldn't seem bothered to do at United).

Pleased for him. Sometimes a player's career at a club reaches a natural conclusion, and a new challenge can light a fire in the belly. I really hope he does well for them and finishes his career in style.

Points aside, I'd pay good money to enter a simulation where that happened, to see the Caf's reaction

Would love if he regains his form for Everton. I do not consider Everton as our rivals, so him doing incredibly well there won't likely harm us. And he gave it all while he was here, and left on good terms so no reason to have hard feelings.

Same as I would if Emma Stone asked me out on a date tonight. Mildly surprised.

First of all, I'd be flabbergasted.

Secondly, I'd be delighted because I know that the thought of a boyhood Everton fan that moved to United and back to Everton again smashing in goals on a weekly basis would make Liverpool fans cry.
