I hate to say it but Lukaku is going to outscore him and I would have definitely preferred United signing Morata. I just can't shake the feeling that Lukaku is going to score 30+ in the league whilst the Spaniard finds it tougher. For the money Madrid are asking I want a guaranteed match winnner and out of the two of them I'd go with Lukaku. So this leaves Chelsea with Morata and Batshuyai as their main forwards if Costa goes, not too scared of that.
You may be right though I think Morata will get bags of assists with setting up Pedro and Willian so Lukaku outscoring does not bother me too much. Just hope we strengthen in a few other positions too.

We'll certainly be signing a third forward. No way would Conte or the club risk being down to only one striker if Morata or Bats get injured.

You say "here" so I'll assume you're a United fan I suppose, but that post is ridiculous.
Which part? He will be first choice, he will be playing next to a world class player in Hazard, and referring to Conte as the best PL manager while arguable, is hardly a stretch.

Well there is a turn up for the books that makes you wonder. Madrid must hate us for not letting them get near DDG so just made it impossible for us to do a deal on Morata especially given we weren't to far off what Chelsea have agreed to pay. I for one wouldn't be surprised to see them go all in after Hazard in the not too distant future. Now lets see if Madrid really press for Mbappe in the coming weeks now that they've got some pennies to aid in funding his uber price tag.

It's Morata people, not Ronaldo we lost out on. We will be fine. And you got to give it to Madrid. Selling their second choice striker for that kind of money is great business.

Lukaku is my kind of striker, big lump bulldozer type. Will score goals for anyone, as will Morata. Technically Morata is better, by some way imo, but its about sticking the ball in the net for them both, and both are capable.

Absolutely no way either set of fans can ridicule the others fee, both wayyyyyy overpriced

Just ready for the cringey Lukaku v Morata thread which is bound to happen through the season
I just saw that thread now

Exactly. Jury is still very much out on him and the price is very steep. I actually prefer it that we paid £75m for Lukaku instead as I believe he has a higher ceiling and higher floor as a forward.

Maybe a certain Tammy Abraham would have been worth keeping for this season as an understudy. Saw him for Bristol City and he is ready for this league.

10? lol I will take that bet
I know that sounds a little crazy, but I think the physicality and pace of the league will be a bit of a shock; and he's just never been prolific. Add to that the big fee and so much responsibility on his shoulders. I have my doubts about how he'll do first season. If we'd put all our eggs in this basket, I'd have been worried; even if he is technically excellent.

Much better for him to stay out on loan and play every week. No use sitting him on our bench.

We will sign an older veteran that offers something different that can be used as cover and a Plan B. Llorente makes perfect sense.

I disagree about the higher floor. Lukaku doesn't contribute consistently in the other aspects of his game, so if he's not scoring goals it can be like playing with 10 men (at his worst). Morata isn't as prolific and likely will never be, but can provide for his teammates. Higher ceiling and better bang for their buck, I agree goes to United.

Dont know about this first and second choice stuff, but i do know that Conte is the manager Morata wanted to play for. Straight from the horses mouth
Obviously

Beating the Lukaku to Chelsea drum all week and how you preferred Lukaku as he scores goals, now that Morata is signing for Chelsea you came up with this shit.

At least be subtle and try to hide.

Here means yes, a Utd fan.

Will he be first choice? Yes.
Do we have a world class talent in the team? No.
Would I prefer to work under Conte or Mourinho? Conte.

Struggling to see what's ridiculous about that.

I'm not gonna get involved in the other stuff, but Morata made it known he loves Conte a couple of months ago.

Both good players, looking forward to watching them. Morata has more to prove (in terms of scoring 20+ over a number of seasons) but possibly a higher threshold. Fully expect him to score against us now.

£70m plus for Morata yet Bayern a top tier club also get James on a loan and people wonder why English clubs can't do good business.
They wanted rid of James, that's why.

I know he said nice worlds about Conte few months back, my point was specific to poster and how he turns everything in favor of Chelsea and shit on ManUtd.

We would have to produce a player Real would want first. I don't think they will be sniffing around us for a while yet.

It also makes sure we never get Varane or Kroos or Bale or Isco etc.

I did say they would sell for less than they were demanding from us, so spiteful over de gea. Another £110 won is tidy though :)
