I'd take dig at the crowd too. This Old Trafford atmosphere is killing me. ARE SUPPORTERS THERE TO WATCH THE GAME or SUPPORT THE TEAM?

I feel like fans don't love this club and i feel like they don't deserve to be there. People all around the world and even people from Manchester would f* love to be in every game if they had enough money to pay for the tickets, trips etc. They would scream United for whole 90 minutes so team would be 100 % motivated. This is bullshit what's happening at the moment. I know there are rules in England about cheering and supporting. This is bullshit if you ask me. The whole Europe if not the world can be laughing to our atmosphere if we consider ourselves as the greatest, biggest club ever. Something needs to change. Maybe leaders in chanting, maybe new songs, maybe new anthems, maybe someone needs to accept something and change our fans to ultras. Banners should be in every game, scarves should be in every match, flags all over the stadium. BUT PEOPLE JUST SIT AT OUR STADIUM DOING UH AND AH AND APPLAUDING. Please people, something is wrong, very wrong with this. No, it's not Glazers fault or someone else', people that are at the stadium make the atmosphere. Silence is not atmosphere. WAKE UP OLD TRAFFORD, PLAYERS DESERVE IT, CLUB DESERVES IT, YOU DESERVE IT.

Maybe the Theatre of dreams is the actual name of the stadium.
Don't you think this is a bit of an overreaction to a league cup game against Burton Albion?

Who are these people that are going to scream for the entire 90 minutes against the reserve team of a division one side? They sound disturbed.

I'm talking about all matches, half of the stadium is quiet for the most of the matches. :(

The torch show was an all time low!!

Having said that I'd noticed a large number of school trips arriving before the game.

Get that. But, are you satisfied with the atmosphere or not?

Judging by the reactions I'm guessing no one enjoyed the countdown chant to half time .

Here is Webby from FullTimeDevils take on the issue (14 minutes 30 seconds in):

I've hated all the red on red infighting since the Glazer takeover but he's a proper whopper.

As for the home atmosphere as a whole, there are several reasons for the long decline (since the Treble season I'd say).

1. First of all, there is a lack of motivation from the terraces as we have won everything.

2. The Glazer takeover and all that followed. A large number of the more vocal fans left, OT for the most part struggled to recover.

3. Ticket price/structure.
For me, the ticket prices aren't that bad if you are a ST holder/member but are far too expensive if you aren't. It puts off the 5/6 game a season fans.
There's also the issue that the high number of ST holders means match by match fans end up in areas where the atmosphere is rubbish. Expanding the singing section (for all its problems could potentially help a lot) to include 500 non ST holders.

4. Exec and family section in the Stretford End.
What the feck was Martin Edwards thinking?

To all the people who were saying: "Well... our home support is always slow, the away support is where we excel". What's your answer after tonight's game?
Winning 4:0 and still couldn't hear a single fan. It's really sad our fans at the stadium aren't as good as I wish them to be.

There were only 1000 of them tucked away in the corner ? What sort of entitled shitbag of a post is this ?

What's sad is you complaining about that. We just played on the other side of Europe on a Wednesday evening. We're hardly taking 3000 over there with us.

Got to be a wind up right?
Seemed like every one of their home fans was as loud as our away fans, and they had a fair few more than us there.

I'd be very surprised if Jose doesn't have a dig at those 600 fans after that. Travelling to Russia on a Wednseday night and being outsung by 50,000 people is a disgrace really

I'm on about 3000 thousand Basel fans out singing entire Old Trafford for full 90 minutes and then I expressed my displeasure about it.
The responses I got were: "Oh well, Champions League nights are always quiet... Besides our away support is much better."

I am sorry I'm not lucky enough to be born in Manchester or near by, but on the other side of the continent and that the standard of my country is low, so it's quite expensive and nearly impossible to afford to go to games on occasional basis.

I just believe that the noise levels from our fans are not far away from the noise levels of chess fans.

I'm just full of admiration for those who are prepared to spend the time and money to get to Russia for a mid-week football match. I wouldn't criticise them if they stood in complete silence.

I don't think anyone here would disagree that it's disgraceful that we get outsung at Old Trafford.

But to pick tonight to complain about is odd. A vibrant home crowd that raised the roof at a consolation goal against a team that's had to travel X amount of miles to travel to Russia mid week.

There'll be moments to justifiably complain, just wait for those times.

What about Russians, they sang their famous song?

"Константин Витальевич Кучаев,
Он наш российский гениальный гений,
У него 24-дюймовый пенис,
Забивая все цели,
V ***** d до его пальцев!"

So because Old Trafford is quiet and you got told here you decided to take it out on a group of ~700 fans that travelled to Moscow and that got outsung by a group of circa 50k fans while it's pretty well known that fans from Central/Eastern European countries are one of the very loudest?

Away support is usually immense but you decide to have a pop away in Russia where the home fans are bouncing and we have a small allocation.

Shit post, good night.

Well that's exactly what I did, I raised the topic after the Basel game, yet I got shoehorned into a corner with the "It's a CL game, our away support is better" answers.
So ... I'm making I hope a fair comparison.
Home support at Man Utd - Basel vs home support at CSKA - Man Utd.
Keep in mind we are supposed to be hungry for winning CL games, since we've been out of the competition for nearly 2 years.

Our away fans just paid a shit load of money to travel to Russia on a Wednesday night after being advised not to go and you have the nerve to criticise them? feck off.

I'm not criticizing particularly these fans. I'm criticizing our support overall.
On the last note of your post - wish you thousand times the same.

Honestly, you're overcomplicating it. If you honestly think our away support isn't better than our home support, then I don't know where this conversation is going.

Except you did.
Didn't you just do that?
All right. In this post I've clearly formulated it as if I'm taking a dig at exactly those who traveled to Moscow, which is quite unfair.
The starting point of why I'm unsettled with our support is why 35k in Moscow can support their team for 90 min, while they're being battered and why can't we support our team when we're winning in a so long awaited CL game (citing the Basel game).
