Would like to see Zlatan given 45 mins, and Lukaku another start to try and get another goal to keep his momentum coming. Likewise with Pogba, give him time and sub off around 60 mins or so.

    Romero
    Darmian - Smalling - Rojo - Blind
    Pogba - Herrera
    Mkhi - Zlatan - Lingard
    Lukaku
Too early even for those 45', since he was dead after just 15' in the last game.

I wouldn't even play Pogba here.

Unrelated but is there a reason why we don't have a CL thread for this week?

I'm expecting us to start or with three at the back or with a midfield three.

Interesting, Swiss newspaper predicts Basel to go back to 3 at the back (they played their last two games in 4-2-3-1):
    58A39E0A627F43788A5009C6C380670F.ashx

Although, judging from their prediction of our side, they don't look that reliable.

Just give Matic a rest is all I ask. The man has played non stop. McTominay should get a game and I'm hoping, as Gomes was subbed off early today in the U18s, he might make the bench.

    I agree.

Undoubtedly, my player of the season so far.

Hope Pogba doesnt play. Absolutely no reason to play him twice in a few days. I think that was one of the reasons he got injured in the first place, over playing. Keep him fresh for the weekend

A lot of games coming up, so I expect a few changes tonight. I think Luke, Sergio, Darmian and Jess' could feature and it would surprise me to see Matic given the night off, with Fellaini and Paul given a run out to improve their fitness and I can Miki getting a game.
Sergio, Smalling, Lindelof, Darmian, Shaw.. Pogba, Fellaini, Miki... Marcus, Rom, Jess'

Matic shouldn’t play again in the CL until the knockout stages! Jose loves to play his faves until they get injured and missing for a month.

A loss is no big deal so just rest Matic.

I fully agree with this. We have a very busy period coming up too.

He can play first half .

This game is not really “important” any more. And our squad is quite balanced now with most players available.

Matic could start in the next 3 games in a row, including Arsenal, and sub him off when possible. So I think it’s vital to keep him fresh. He could get a rest tonight, or play the last 20-ish min. Herrera is his direct replacement.

Pogba need to get some game time.

I'd rather just rest Matic entirely. He's not needed for tonight.

Rest some key players, we'll play 3 league games within 8 days after that.

Can see a midfield of Herrera, Fellaini and Mctominay tonight.

Smalling, Pogba and Lukaku all confirmed as starting.

I think Mourinho will go pretty much as strong as possible essentially as we're not qualified yet - and he'll be able to get away with resting some vs Brighton because of who they are and the depth of the squad again now. Romero/Shaw/Tuanzebe/McTominay etc can play in the final group game at home against that ropey Moscow side.

Start with a full-strength sort of side then make early substitutions if we're in control. More important to guarantee it today so we can run out a real 3rd XI against CSKA in between the all-important Arsenal and City games.

Tough call on Rojo or/and Lindelöf. One is not probably match fit to play in a two centerback defense, the other just made an error that cost us a goal… Mourinho could play three at the back to dissolve those factors.

Lindelof hasn't just made one error. He is making errors in virtually every game he plays for us, though in the last match, Lindelof slipped and I can't say that was an "error". The entire team was at fault for that goal.

Maybe I didn't express myself right, “just” meant recently. And a slip for a centerback is definitely an error in my account.

These are the type of games that Lindelof should play to get him more integrated into the side, no point him sitting down on the bench and learning nothing

Best opportunity to rest a few players.

Minutes for Pogba, Zlatan and Rojo would be grand. Chuck McTominay, Herrara, Lingard and Mkhitaryan in the team.

Yeah, no point… unless you want to get Rojo fit.

    I think we'll see

    DDG
    Valencia Lindeloff Smalling Blind
    Fellaini Pogba
    Mkhitaryan
    Lingard Lukaku Rashford

Zlatan, Rojo, and Martial off the bench

Team should be: De Gea. Darmian Smalling Lindelof. Shaw Herrera. Pogba. Lingard. Mkhi . Martial. Lukaku
